World Beyblade Organization by Fighting Spirits Inc.

Two years after the Nemesis Incident, few bladers are still around. Most of the bladers that still battle do not follow the WBBA's rules and have become a major threat to the world of Beyblade. There are still bladers that respect and follow the rules, though they are few. This story follows a few of these bladers.
A mysterious boy in grey jeans and a white hoodie was walking along the street. As he walked, he pulled something out of his pocket. It was a Beyblade. Phantom Leone, to be exact. As the boy walked, a girl ran up to him.
“Hey, Jon!” She called. “You ready to take these suckers down?”
“Of course, Beck,” Jon said calmly. “Where's Ken?”
“He just got back from visiting his old friends from Africa. He should be at the Bey Park already,” the girl, named Beck, told him.
“Good. We'll need him if we are going to beat these pesky Blade Hogs,” Jon said.
“That's what they're calling themselves now? Weren't they the Beystroyers last week?”
“Yeah, but they always seem to change their name so they aren't caught by the WBBA,” Jon informed her. “Hey, is that Ken?”
Jon pointed at a tall young-man with dreadlocks as he asked the question. As they got nearer, Beck answered him.
“It is! Ken! Ken Moto!” Beck yelled at him. She then beckoned him over. Ken walked over towards them.
“I see you're still as loud as ever,” Ken taunted playfully.
“Shut up!” Beck said as she punched him softly in the arm.
“Ow!” Ken replied sarcastically. They entered into the Bey Park. It was an outdoor stadium, with bleachers for spectators and benches on the inside for competing Bladers. It seemed abandoned, though.
A shadowy figure emerged from one of the tunnels. Out stepped a blader with long gold hair that covered one of his eyes.
“What are you guys doing here?” The boy asked.
“Look, Dan. We want you to stop your illegal Beyblading activities now,” Jon said.
“How do you know my name? I guess it really doesn't matter. Someone would've found out at some point,” Dan said. “And as for stopping: how does 'no' sound?”
Dan readied his bey onto his launcher.
“Sounds like a bad plan for you,” Ken said as he readied his bey, a Killer Giraffe, onto his launcher.
“Three!” Dan yelled.
“Two!” Ken yelled back in response.
“One! Go Shoot!” They both shouted. The beys landed in the stadium simultaneously, but instead of being two, there were four!
“What's going on?” Beck asked, confused.
“What do you mean? It's a bey-battle!” Laughed a boy wearing an unzipped black leather jacket that revealed he wasn't wearing a shirt underneath.
“They must have come out of their hiding places while we were distracted by Dan,” Jon said.
“That's right,” said the other new guy who was dressed in desert camouflage.
“That's doesn't matter,” Ken said excitedly. “It'll be good practice for my defensive abilities! Go, Giraffe!”
Killer Giraffe went straight to the center of the stadium to gain a more defensive position.
“You think that'll stop Pisces?” Dan asked. “Pisces is a Stamina type that can outlast your Giraffe by a long shot, especially with my modified launcher.”
“Modified launcher? That's cheating!” Beck yelled.
“I know! It's actually pretty cool because it increases the spin power by 300%,” Dan explained cheerfully. “Your Defense type, Giraffe, doesn't stand a chance.”
“Defense type? Who said Giraffe was a Defense type?” Ken asked rhetorically. “Attack, Giraffe!”
Giraffe started to attack Pisces fiercely.
“I can take more than that. It doesn't matter though. I'll just have this guy finish you off!” Dan yelled as he nodded at Leather-jacket-guy.
“Let's see how your Attack type Giraffe can handle a taste of its own medicine,” the boy said. “Go now!”
His bey went to attack Giraffe, but Giraffe stopped its attack, and knocked it out of the stadium.
“I don't think you guys get it. Giraffe isn't Attack, Defense, or Stamina. He's a Balance type. He uses Attack and Defense abilities. It doesn't matter how hard you try, you'll lose!” Ken stated happily.
Giraffe went back to attacking Pisces and was about to deliver the finishing hit when Pisces dodged and Giraffe hit what had the effects of a brick wall.
“You forgot about me!” The camouflaged boy said. “My Defense type can stop all of your attacks and make you sleep out before Pisces stops spinning.”
“We'll just see about that!” Ken yelled.
Giraffe went to attack Pisces, but Camo-kid's Bey stopped him. Giraffe went up to the edge of the stadium to try to get around the bey, but no matter where Giraffe went, the bey was following, always between Pisces and Giraffe.
“I didn't want to do this, but here it goes! Giraffe, Final Fury!” Ken yelled.
Giraffe started to spin faster and attacked Camo-kid's Defense Bey and actually succeeded in knocking it out.
“What?! How is that even possible?” Camo-kid asked, shocked.
“It's because of Killer Giraffe's pairing of GB145 and RF. GB145, or Gravity Ball 145, increases Giraffe's spin and inertia, increasing attack power. That, along with Rubber Flat, creates huge attack potential,” Ken explained as Giraffe neared Pisces.
Pisces dodged the strong attack.
“You can't run forever!” Ken yelled at Dan.
“I wasn't planning to. Pisces, Dual Row Bite!” Dan yelled as Pisces began to attack Giraffe, decreasing Giraffe's spin while barely taking any damage itself.
Each hit from the two beys filled the stadium with dust. The stadium was soon completely filled with dust, and no one could see what was happening, but they clearly heard a bey fall. Dan began to smile.
“Looks like I win,” Dan said as the dust began to clear.
Then, it was revealed that Dan was right. He had won. Pisces went back into his hand
“Now you all better run on home,” Dan warned them.
“Not yet! I'll take you down,” Beck yelled.
“You?” Dan laughed.
“Laugh all you want, but you'll be crying by the end of it!” Beck shouted as she readied her bey.
“Okay then. Three!” Dan yelled.
“Two!”
“One! Go Shoot!”

“Go shoot!” Dan and Beck yelled in unison as they launched their beys into the stadium. This time, Camo-boy and Leather-jacket-guy hadn't joined the battle. They were watching with bored expressions on their faces because they knew who was going to win.
The beys in the stadium clashed fiercely as dust and sparks burst into the air and the beys were knocked back. Then, Pisces went to the center as Beck's bey, Flame Orion, circled around.
“Why won't you attack?” Beck asked.
“There's no need,” Dan said.
Pisces continued to spin in the center of the stadium as Orion's circle got smaller and smaller. Orion delivered multiple small attacks to Pisces.
“You think that's going to work?” Dan wondered, amazed at the incompetence Beck showed in the battle.
“It already has. Look!” Beck said as she pointed to the stadium. Pisces was wobbling slightly, though it still had a good spin. Orion stayed stable.
“My Burn wheel couldn't have taken that much damage!” Dan said as he analyzed the situation to figure out what had gone wrong. Beck just smiled.
Orion's attacks began to have bigger effects, though they seemed to be the same as the ones before. Orion knocked Pisces farther and farther back. Pisces began to wobble even more than before, and soon, it was on the edge of the stadium. Orion fell back to unleash a stronger attack to finish the battle.
Orion went in to hit Pisces again, but another bey was in its way!
“What the-?!” Beck shouted. Then, she realized what had happened. Camo-kid had launched his bey to protect Pisces. Orion attacked Camo-kid's bey, but it didn't seem to do anything. It continued spinning, so Orion backed off to try to conserve energy.
Camo-kid's bey started to attack Orion to try to stop its spin. Each time it attacked, though, it began to sway more and more as it wobbled.
“What's up with her bey? It's as if her bey is magic or something!” Leather-jacket-guy said.
“It's a destabilizer. No matter what, you're going to get knocked off balance and lose,” Beck said. Camo-kid's bey finally stopped spinning as it's metal wheel scraped the ground.
Next, Orion went after its original target, Pisces, who had returned to the center of the stadium and had regained a normal position. Pisces started wobbling again as Orion attacked. Again, it was pushed to the edge. Dan had a smile on his face.
“This will be easy to win now,” Dan started. “Pisces! Dual Row Bite!”
Pisces started to attack, using the low track height of W105 and the Burn metal wheel to knock Orion into the air. Orion landed on the opposite side of the stadium, just barely avoiding a stadium-out.
“You think you're the only one with a special move? Orion, Hunter's Aim!” Beck yelled as Flame Orion sent bursts of air at Pisces by using its Down Force 145 track. Pisces dodged most of the bursts, but was hit by one and started to wobble more. It scraped the stadium floor, but got back up.
Orion went back to attack Pisces, but Pisces used its Wide Defense bottom to dodge the attack.
Beck growled a bit under her breath and gritted her teeth. This was the hardest battle she had ever taken part in, and she was not going to lose it, that much was for sure. She started to formulate a plan. Camo-kid's bey was still sitting there in the stadium. If she could just push Pisces back against that, she could easily win. The only problem was that Pisces had a WD bottom. If Dan dodged another time and Orion hit Camo-kid's bey, then Orion would stop spinning. Orion could make the same movements as Pisces, though, because it also had a WD bottom. The hardest part would be for Beck to make the split-second decision.
Pisces went to attack Orion, but its attack power was weak because of its wobble. Pisces hit Orion, but it didn't do any damage. Orion circled around behind Pisces and began to push it towards the fallen bey of Camo-kid.
“I see what you're doing,” Dan said. “I won't let it happen, though!”
Pisces got away and regained a bit of stability. Pisces then turned to attack Orion. Before Orion could dodge, Pisces hit it's underside. Orion flew through the air, and time seemed to slow down. Orion was falling down, but then barely missed the stadium, resulting in a stadium-out.
Beck fell to the ground. She couldn't believe it. She had actually lost such an important battle, and to a cheater like that!
“Like I said before, you all had better be getting home now. Wouldn't want you to miss your bedtimes,” Dan mocked.
“Why you-” Ken started. Jon stopped him.
“Things will be different next time, Dan,” Jon threatened. “Come on guys.”
Beck was still on the ground, hiding tears of frustration and shame. Ken knelt down next to her to comfort her.
“Rebecca? Are you alright?” Ken asked her.
“Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine,” Beck said through the tears as she started to stand up.
“You'll pay for this, Dan,” Ken warned.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Just get out of here,” Dan said.
Ken, Jon, and Beck walked towards the exit of the Bey Park. Once they got to the edge, a new face peered around the corner. A girl with long, white hair stopped in front of them.
“Hey. I'm Kacy,” the girl said. “I saw how you fought today to stop those cheaters. You guys fought valiantly.”
“Thanks,” Beck replied, her voice still shaky.
“I hope you're okay,” Kacy told Beck.
“I'm alright,” Beck said.
Ken and Jon were already outside of the Bey Park. They stopped to wait for Beck.
“You coming?” Jon yelled back to Beck.
“Yeah, in a second!” Beck yelled back, her voice gaining its normal strength again.
“Well, I'll see you later,” Kacy said as she went in to the Bey Park.
“Okay,” Beck said.
Beck, Jon, and Ken returned to their homes. They still had to find a way to beat Dan and his little group, but Dan always seemed to have an answer for everything. A guy like him could be a valuable asset if he were on the right side, but at the moment, he's working against the WBBA.
Jon logged onto his computer and messaged Ken.
“I figured out our plan,” Jon typed in.
“What?” Ken replied back.
“We convince Dan to join us instead of fight against us,” Jon explained.
“How?” Ken asked.
“We'll figure that out later,” Jon answered.
“That's fine anyways. Dan wasn't wrong about me having a bedtime! LOL,” Ken sent right before he signed off.
Ken started to get ready to go to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a big day, he could feel it!

The next morning, Ken, Jon, and Beck all met up at their favorite place to get a coffee. As Jon drank his cappuccino, he started to talk.
“Guys, we aren't going to get Dan to join us unless we convince him to. This isn't going to be a physical fight, but a battle of wits. We may only be able to get through to him during a battle, but we have to persuade him to stop cheating.”
“How are we going to do that?” Beck asked as she took another sip of her mocha.
“Someone needs to battle him and then convince him that he's good enough not to cheat,” Ken volunteered after he had finished chugging down his plain coffee.
“That sounds like a good idea. Who should battle him?” Jon asked the two.
They all took a second to think about it. Jon was the only one who hadn't battled yet, so it was only fair he do it. Then again, what about Beck? She wanted revenge. Ken probably did, too, but Beck's battle would be a bit more personal.
“I'll do it,” Beck said, her eyes cold. Her voice was chilling and hollow, but the hollowness was soon filled with determination. “I feel like I need to prove myself and show him I'm not that easy to defeat.”
“You sure?” Ken asked, making certain that she was going to be alright.
“Of course I'm sure!” Beck snapped. Shock at herself was plastered all over her face. “I'm sorry, Ken.”
“It's fine,” Ken smiled. “I know that you can get really amped up for battles.”
The three left the coffee shop and went to one of the small beystadiums that were scattered around the Bey park. These were the only stadiums not constantly guarded by a group of rule-breaking outlaws. They all got their beys out of their bey cases, but something was wrong.
“Where's Orion?” Beck asked, looking at Ken and Jon. She had a worried look on her face.
Ken and Jon looked at each other, realizing they, either one, had no idea. Beck's worried expression grew worst as she got more and more anxious, analyzing every single place she could have left Orion. Then, a sudden look of knowledge burst onto her face. That was quickly followed by anger.
“Kacy!” Beck screamed as she started to run, not knowing where she was going.
Ken and Jon looked at each other again and shrugged their shoulders. They started running after Beck.
Once Beck got inside the Bey Park, she saw Kacy battling Dan. What's more, she was using Beck's bey, Flame Orion!
“Kacy!” Beck yelled in anger.
The white-haired girl turned to see who was shouting her name. When she saw who it was, she smiled.
“Hello, Becky! Look, I can't talk right now, but after this battle-”
“First of all, my name is not 'Becky'. Second, we're talking now,” Beck retaliated.
“I don't have time right now, Becky,” Kacy said as she fought. “By the way, I love your bey!”
Ken and Jon just arrived and figured out what was going on.
“Why'd you guys come back?” Dan asked.
“We need Beck's bey back,” Ken told him with a tinge of hatred in his voice.
Dan called Pisces out of the stadium and caught it.
“I can respect that,” Dan said.
“I was going to win, you know,” Kacy said as she picked up Flame Orion. “I'm not giving this bey up that easily, though. One of you has to battle me to get it!”
“I'll battle you,” Jon said.
“I haven't seen you battle yet,” Kacy said. “I sure hope this is a fun battle!”
Jon ran up to the edge of the stadium and prepared his bey, Phantom Leone D125SD, for launch. Kacy fiddled with her launcher as she attached her bey.
“Three!” Jon started.
“Two!” Kacy yelled.
“One! Go shoot!”
The beys landed in the stadium, Leone retreating to the middle and setting a careful trap. Kacy's bey circled around. It wasn't Orion, though! And it's movement around the stadium suggested that it was a left-spin bey!
“That's not Orion!” Jon shouted, surprised at the girls quick change.
“You're right! Meet LDrago Destroy, the best in Attack and Spin-steal!” Kacy claimed.
LDrago charged after Leone, knocking it back. Because of LDrago's extremely low height, it was able to get underneath even the 12.5 millimeter track!
Leone was pushed to the edge, but was still spinning strong. LDrago came in for another attack, but Leone dodged just barely. All Leone had to do to win was outspin LDrago by staying inside of the stadium.
LDrago attacked with more ferocity each time, but Leone remained inside of the stadium. Then, LDrago ran out of the spin needed to defeat Leone.
“I bet you think you're going to win,” Kacy said. “Think again! LDrago, Den of Thieves!”
LDrago switched from Attack Mode to Absorb Mode. It hit Leone once more, and gained enough spin to attack once the rubber in “Destroy” made contact with Leone's Phantom metal wheel.
LDrago began attacking again, metal hitting metal until LDrago needed more spin. Then, LDrago would use its rubber to gain more spin.
“How is this possible?” Jon asked.
“The eXtreme Flat bottom generates as little friction as possible towards the end of a battle. This gives LDrago the ability to spin-steal!” Kacy explained proudly. “And, with its low height of 100, LDrago can attack, too!”
LDrago pushed Leone back to the edge. Jon thought frantically, thinking of the perfect plan. Would it be possible for Leone to use LDrago's rubber against it? Could Leone steal LDrago's power instead of LDrago stealing Leone's?
Leone leaned to one side, just low enough to miss the metal wings of LDrago, but high enough to still make contact with the rubber. Each time LDrago hit Leone, its power was decreased.
Kacy's expression turned from smug to scared as she tried to figure out why her plan wasn't working.
“What's going on?” She asked herself.
“Leone is in Stamina Mode,” Jon started. “This means that the Phantom metal wheel is almost perfectly smooth. That prevents you from spin-stealing any more.”
LDrago was losing speed faster than at any other point in the battle. Kacy gave it all she had with one final attack. LDrago charged Leone, but Leone suddenly tilted backwards so that LDrago made contact with Defense 125. The hit was absorbed by the D125 track and the Semi Defense bottom working in unison. LDrago had stopped spinning.
“Now hand over Orion,” Jon said.
Kacy tossed the bey across the stadium and Beck caught it.
“This isn't the last of me,” Kacy told them. “Or Counter Launch.”
Kacy ran down the tunnel to the outside.
In the bleachers, a blue-haired boy was watching what had just happened. A plan ran through his mind of who he should go after. He had seen both of the girl's beys, and the boy in the white jacket's bey, too. But what about the boy with dreadlocks? Now he seemed like a tough opponent.

Once Jon, Ken, and Beck were outside, the giant screen attached to the outside of the Bey Park flickered on. Despite the cracks, you could clearly make out Blader DJ's face.
“Hello...Blade...Tournament...Area!” Seemed to be what he was saying. It was hard to tell through all of the static and noise the broken speakers were making.
“There's going to be a tournament?” Ken asked skeptically.
“That's right! Tournaments are...your area!” Blader DJ said. “...final...take place in...Dynamo Stadium!...prototype...next genera...”
Then, just as soon as it turned on, the screen turned off and Blader DJ disappeared.
The boy who had been watching the three from the bleachers was now hiding behind the screen. He jumped down behind them and followed them, waiting for the right moment to make himself known. He started to think of a plan.
He decided he would hide his British accent and pretend he was Gingka Hagane. It didn't really matter if they believed him, he just needed to stall long enough for them to finally want to battle him. Then, he would challenge Ken.
The boy ran after Jon, Ken, and Beck and started calling out to them once they had gotten under a wide overpass.
“Hey! I'm looking for the three people who challenged Dan,” the blue haired boy yelled. “I'm supposed to battle them as reward for trying to stop the epidemic of illegal Beyblading activity!”
“And just who are you supposed to be?” Beck asked.
“Why, I'm Gingka Hagane!” The boy claimed.
“Doesn't Gingka have red hair?” Ken wondered.
The boy reached up to his blue and combed it back. “Oh, I changed it a year or two ago. I feel blue shows the connection I have with my bey a bit better.”
“Okay, then. Who do you want to battle first?” Jon asked the imposter.
“I'll take you on!” The blue-haired boy said as he pointed to Ken.
“Alright. Want to battle here?” Ken asked as he prepped his launcher and bey.
“Sure. You ready?” The boy confirmed as he attached his bey to his launcher.
“Three!” Ken started.
“Two!” The boy continued.
“One! Go shoot!”
Their beys landed right under the center of the overpass. The beys circled around, and it was clear the boy was not using Pegasis simply by the color of his bey.
“That's not Pegasis! And you're not Gingka Hagane!” Beck yelled accusingly.
“You're right,” the boy said with a British accent. “My name is Chase, Chase Gladius. And my bey is VariAres R145WB.”
“I don't care who you are,” Ken started. “Giraffe and I will still take you down!”
Giraffe attacked VariAres, but the hits were absorbed by Ares' PC Frame and the rubber wings of R145, resulting in little damage to Ares. Giraffe tried again and hit Ares' metal, resulting in a huge recoil. Giraffe went in for another hit, but Ares leaned back so that Giraffe could only hit the rubber of R145.
“Let's go! Ares' Sword!” Chase yelled as the yellow PC Frame of VariAres retreated back inside, increasing its attack power. VariAres began to attack Giraffe, knocking it farther and farther back.
“Defend, Giraffe!” Ken yelled. Giraffe stopped all offensive movement, but was still knocked back by the sheer power of Ares in Attack Mode.
“The defense of a Balance bey is nowhere near that necessary to stop Ares,” Chase said as Ares attacked again, knocking Giraffe into the concrete wall of the overpass. Giraffe bounced back and went to attack again.
“Ares' Shield! Defend, VariAres!” Chase shouted as Ares absorbed the hit with ease. The tabs of the yellow PC Frame had returned to their original position. Giraffe's attacks failed to move Ares at all.
Giraffe's spin started to decrease, while Ares seemed fine.
“Come on, Giraffe! Let's finish this! Final Fury!” Ken yelled as he tried to make the battle a win for himself.
Giraffe started to spin faster and went to attack. The gap in the Killer metal wheel met up with one of the sharp points of metal on VariAres.
Both beys flew back against the walls of the overpass, cracking it all the way to the top of it. Pieces of the concrete bridge fell. All four of the kids ran out from underneath the bridge.
“Ares!” Chase yelled just as Ken yelled, “Giraffe!”
The beys went opposite directions and back to their owners. Luckily, the bridge hadn't taken too much damage, and so it still held up.
“Well, now that I know all of your tricks,” Chase started, “the real fun can begin. You want to go again?”
“Let's go! Three!” Ken shouted.
“Two!”
“One! Go Shoot!”
The two beys landed under the over pass again, but instead of attacking, Giraffe retreated down the street, Ares quickly following. Ken and Chase ran after their beys while Beck and Jon trailed behind.
Ares attacked every once in a while, though it didn't seem to do anything. Giraffe responded with equally weak hits. The two beys were at equal positions now and were both speeding down the road.
“I'm going to end this know! Giraffe, Final Fury!” Ken yelled out.
Giraffe spun faster and created a large amount of distance between it and Ares before it turned around. Now Giraffe and Ares were set for a head on collision.
“Go! Ares' Sword!” Chase yelled as the PC Frame went inside. The two beys clashed, both bouncing back. They seemed to have lost very little spin and they both attacked again. They were pushed back equally far as the time before.
“Ares, use Mirror Play!” Chase yelled. Ares started mimicking Giraffe's every move, but reversed. When Giraffe attacked, Ares mirrored it.
“How is he doing that?” Beck asked Jon. Jon just shrugged.
“How, you ask?” Chase yelled behind him. “Ares can use counter-spin abilities. By simply spinning the opposite direction of my opponent, I can attack with twice as much force and mirror their moves!”
Ares stopped mirroring Giraffe and attacked with its full-force. Giraffe's spin was weakened by a lot as it was pushed forward. Ares caught up with it and began to push it along the rest of the length of the street. Giraffe stopped spinning while Ares stood tall.
“This was fun,” Chase said as he caught Ares. “Let's do this again at 'Creating the Future'!”
“'Creating the Future'?” Ken questioned.
“The big tournament coming up. You'll be there, right?” Chase asked.
“Of course! And I'll take first!” Ken said.
“If you can beat Dan, then maybe you will!” Chase replied as he ran off.
“Dan?” Beck asked.

The next day, Jon, Ken, and Beck met up at the coffee shop again. They had all researched the tournament on the WBBA's website and found out all there was to know. The battles would take place in the standard stadiums the WBBA had used in all previous tournaments, except for the final battle. The final battle would take place in the “Dynamo Stadium”, a stadium that spun to the left and was tilted by the beys and their movement. It worked by sitting on a round platform that spun underneath it. The platform would be underground while the stadium would be partially above ground.
“What do you guys think of the new stadium?” Jon asked.
“I'm not sure. It seems interesting, but also dangerous. Won't the centrifugal force launch beys out easily?” Beck wondered.
“I think that's the point,” Ken stated. “They want the battle to be more exciting, so why not add some drama? And since it's a prototype, the perfect test would be between two of the strongest bladers.”
“I guess you're right,” Beck agreed.
“My main worry is that there are four exits, and at the speed the stadium will be moving, stadium-outs might be difficult to avoid,” Jon warned.
“Well, no use worrying about it right now. The most that can make it will be two of us, so right now, we just need to practice in a regular stadium so we can get to the Dynamo Stadium,” Ken said.
“He's right. Let's practice!” Beck said.
“We can't, though. Dan runs the show at the Bey Park, remember?” Jon said.
“We have to convince him to stop cheating and let us practice there,” Beck agreed.
“No need to waste time! Let's show him what's up!” Ken exclaimed.
They left the coffee shop and headed for the Bey Park. Like they had assumed, Dan was still there, keeping anybody from battling. When he saw the three bladers, a look of annoyance swept over his face.
“Well, if it isn't the loser squad. What do you guys want now?” Dan asked, extreme displeasure plastered throughout his words.
“Look, Dan. I'm sure you know about 'Creating the Future' already,” Jon started. “We just want to make a deal with you. You avoid cheating and you let people practice here, and I'll make sure to battle you during the tournament!”
“Pfft! Why would I want to battle you?” Dan laughed.
“First of all, you haven't battled me yet. Second, I'm probably the strongest one of us here, besides you,” Jon replied.
“That's right, 'besides' me. I am the strongest, and I won't let you forget it. Also, I could battle you any time I wanted to, as long as I put this Bey Park on the line,” Dan retorted.
“Is that a challenge then? You don't cheat and the Bey Park is open to the public if I win?” Jon asked.
“It wasn't originally a challenge. I'll agree to those odds,” Dan said, “on one condition. If I win, none of you even sign up for the tournament.”
“Jon-” Beck started. She was cut short, though.
“Fine! I'll do it!” Jon agreed. Beck and Ken looked at him with astonishment.
“Holy flipping acrobats, man! What do you think you just agreed to?” Ken yelled at him.
“To win,” Jon replied with sheer determination set in his voice and on his face. He walked up to the stadium and prepped Phantom Leone with confidence.
“Three!” Dan said as he smiled.
“Two!” Jon said, his mouth barely moving because of his gritted teeth.
“One! Go shoot!”
The two bladers launched their beys, both landing on the opposite edges of the stadium. Dan's bey, Burn Pisces, went straight for the center of the stadium. Leone started to circle around like a prowling lion, waiting for a good moment to attack. Then, Pisces moved.
“I don't have time for this guy,” Dan said. “Pisces, Dual Row Bite!”
Pisces attacked Leone, which should have sent Leone flying, but instead, Pisces fell back.
“What?!” Dan exclaimed.
“Welcome to Phantom Leone's Attack mode,” Jon said with excitement. “I can counter any of your attacks and produce even better ones!”
Leone charged at Pisces and made contact, knocking Pisces back. Leone charged again and again until Pisces was on the edge of the stadium. Then, he backed off.
“Why didn't you finish me right then?” Dan asked.
“Don't you know? Cat's love to play with their prey, especially big catches!” Jon jeered. Beck just shook her head.
“What is he thinking?” Ken asked himself. Jon just smiled.
Once Pisces had gotten away from the edge, Leone attacked again. This time, though, it missed. Pisces had dodged using it's WD bottom like it had against Orion. Leone went straight to the edge of the stadium, barely staying in. Pisces came up to attack, but Leone dodged. Pisces followed closely behind.
“You should know that if you plan on keeping a fish, you can't release it back into the pond,” Dan said, mimicking Jon's animal metaphor.
Pisces gained enough speed to hit Leone, pushing him back toward the center of the stadium. Leone climbed back up the edge to attack Pisces. As Leone stampeded toward it, Pisces dodged again. Jon had learned from his previous mistake, though, and didn't let Leone get close to a self knock-out again.
Pisces had returned to the center, trying to avoid losing its stamina, which wasn't too hard because of its powerful launch. Leone, however, was starting to feel the effects of Pisces' attacks. It hadn't lost much spin, but it was beginning to wobble.
“I think it's time I finish this,” Dan said. “Go, Pisces!”
Pisces charged after Leone once more, this time catching Leone's underside and plowing its metal wheel, Phantom, into the ground. Leone got away, but not quick enough to avoid losing speed.
“You had him, but you let him go! Now you're going to lose!” Ken scolded.
“Not yet, I'm not!” Jon yelled. “Leone! Ghost Tornado!”
Leone started to circle the stadium at an ever-hastening speed, creating a whitish tornado that looked as if it were made of the spirits of those of the past.
Inside that tornado, Pisces was bombarded by gusts of wind, knocking it back and forth. It started to wobble more and more, until the tornado stopped. The tornado exploded from the center, resulting in a huge gust of wind pushing everyone back a foot or two.
Dan was smiling, though.
“That was good,” Dan chuckled. “I'm still spinning, though, and you'll soon see that you shouldn't have let me get away that first time. Pisces, Twin Fin Demolition!”
Pisces began to vibrate rapidly and regain its balance when suddenly, it looked as if there were two!
Jon lost his confident look for a split-second. He realized he had underestimated Dan's ability.
Both Pisces attacked Leone from opposite sides. The appeared to morph back into one bey as Leone flew into the air. Leone fell down and delivered a final hit to Pisces. There was a large explosion of dust that filled the stadium and prevented anyone from seeing what had happened. When it cleared, though, everyone's jaw dropped.
There, in the center, still spinning, were both beys. Then, before anyone had a chance to do anything, they stopped. It was a tie! Both beys had stopped at the same time.
Everyone just stood there in silence for a moment, until Dan spoke.
“Fine. This bey Park is open to the public, and I'll avoid cheating during the tournament. After the tournament is over, though, things will return to the way they were.”
“Really?” Beck asked.
“For now. Be sure not to ask again, though, because I may change my mind. Until then, Counter Launch and I have work to do,” Dan said.
“Counter Launch? What's that?” Jon asked Dan. Dan had already left, though. Kacy and Chase, who had apparently been watching in the stands, followed him.
“We'll see you guys at the tournament,” Kacy said as she left.
“And you'd better be ready for a major butt-whooping,” Chase taunted.
“Yeah? We'll see about that, mister!” Beck retaliated.
“It's Gladius, Beck. Chase Gladius,” Ken said.
“I know that, Ken. I was just trying to be threatening!” Beck countered.
“But that made it seem a whole lot less threatening, you do realize that, right?” Ken asked.
“Guys! Stop arguing over it. It's not a big deal,” Jon said. Under his breath, he added, “What is, though, is the tournament.”
“What was that?” Ken asked.
“We need to train,” Jon said.
“How?” Beck wondered.
“By battling. You guys ready?” Jon asked them.
“Anytime,” Ken said as he got his launcher ready.
“Of course!” Beck exclaimed as she, too, got her launcher ready.
“Three!” Jon started them off.
“Two!” Beck continued.
“One!” Ken shouted.
“Go shoot!”

After three weeks of intense training, the tournament was about to begin! Jon, Beck, and Ken had all undergone extremely hard battles with one another. Kacy, Dan, and Chase had done their own training, but in different ways.
Dan practiced his launch without a modified launcher and got to a point where he was just as good with a regular launcher as he was with his modified one. Chase had practiced his right and left spin abilities to the peak of perfection. Kacy had been practicing something, but it wasn't Beyblade. She had worked on her pick-pocketing skills thinking that they might help her at some point during the tournament.
Everyone was getting ready for the tournament, with the opening ceremonies starting later that day! So far, there were sixteen different bladers, who would be revealed at the opening ceremonies. It was going to be an exciting event, that was for sure.
As Jon, Beck, and Ken filed into the stands to watch the opening ceremonies, they were shocked by how few people were actually watching.
“There's like, what? Ten people watching?” Ken asked sarcastically.
“More like fifty. Still, not many as compared to three or four years ago,” Beck agreed.
“People are still in shock because of Nemesis,” Jon stated.
“Still...” Ken said as the ceremonies began.
“Welcome to 'Creating the Future', the biggest Beyblade tournament in over a year!” The announcer started. “We don't have as many bladers as we had hoped, but sixteen is a very good start! First of all, we told you all that the final battle would take place in the Dynamo Stadium. That has been changed,” there were many sighs of disappointment and boos at this. “Instead, all battles will take place in the Dynamo Stadium!”
The crowd (all fifty or so people) roared with applause and cheer.
“That's right! All fifteen battles will be fought in this rotating and swaying prototype,” the announcer said as he swept his arm with grace, showing off the stadium that was rising up from the ground. Every person there ooh-ed and ah-ed at the sight. They had all seen the images of the stadium online, but it was even more spectacular in real life.
“Now, we need to announce who the competitors are! Let's start with Ace Yamakiro, a blader who rarely battles during the day. He will finally show his amazing skills at this tournament with his Blitz Phoenix! The second blader I'm going to introduce is Ken Moto, a blader with incredible skill and resolve. He will compete with his Killer Giraffe! Third is Pine Kyles, a blader with skills unparalleled to any other! He will battle with Counter Libra 105SF! The fourth blader I want to introduce is Chase Gladius, who dominates battles with his VariAres R145WB!”
The announcer continued listing the names, the bladers standing up and waving once their name was called. When the announcer said the last name, Tairn Hex, a girl with extremely long, dark purple hair, stood up.
“She's freaking me out,” Beck said.
“Yeah, me too,” Ken agreed.
The announcer finished the ceremony announcing that the tournament would begin the next day at nine o'clock in the morning with Dan battling the boy named Pine. That concluded the opening ceremonies and everyone left to go prepare for the next day.

The next morning, the tournament began! There were many more spectators than that of the opening ceremonies, which amped up all of the bladers. Everyone was prepared for the epic battles that awaited.
“Here we go! Two bladers of amazing skill are ready to battle! Dan Charlington, owner of the great fish, Pisces, will be battling Pine Kyles, the controller of the scales, Libra! Bladers, get ready! Three!” The announcer started.
“Two!” Pine shouted.
“One!” Dan said.
“Go shoot!” The crowd roared. The two bladers launched their beys into the stadium, which began to spin, slowly at first, but with increasing spin.
“Now here is where it gets interesting, folks! The stadium will continue to increase in spin speed until the battle is over!” The announcer explained. Already, the stadium was spinning extremely fast.
“I don't have time for this,” Dan said as Pisces used the stadium's spin to fling it at Libra. Pisces hit Libra, resulting in an extremely quick stadium-out.
“I...I already lost?” Pine asked.
Dan caught Pisces and walked through the tunnel that lead to the locker rooms located beneath the stands.
“What an extremely quick battle!” The announcer exclaimed happily. “Let's get ready for the next! Steve, using a Basalt Bull, will battle Frank, who uses Earth Cygnus! Three!”
“Two!”
“One!”
“Go shoot!”
The two beys landed in the stadium. The sheer weight of Basalt Bull pulled him to the center of the stadium, while Earth Cygnus took a little while longer to get to the center. The stadium started spinning faster and faster while the two beys crashed into each other. At the end of the battle, Cygnus delivered the final blow and knocked Bull out of the stadium.
“That was an intense battle!” The announcer said with excitement. “Now it's time for something even more astounding! Chase Gladius, using VariAres, will battle Ken Moto! It's time to start this epic battle! Three!”
“Two!” Chase shouted as he attached Ares onto the launcher in right-spin mode.
“One!” Ken exclaimed.
“Go shoot!”
VariAres and Giraffe both landed on the same side, the whole stadium tilting to one side while it spun at the newest center of gravity.
“Go, Giraffe!” Ken yelled as Giraffe attacked Ares. Ares was pushed to the other side of the stadium, evening it out again. Then Giraffe went through the center of the stadium and attacked Ares again, pushing it to the edge. The stadium leaned as it spun faster and faster, dragging Ares and Giraffe to positions where the stadium could become level again.
“Ares' Sword! Attack, Ares!” Chase shouted. Ares switched to Attack mode and went after Giraffe, pushing it back farther and farther as the stadium leaned more and more until it was on it's edge. Ares went back to attack, but Giraffe had moved. The stadium leveled out again as Giraffe caught up to Ares. The two beys clashed and bounced back.
The stadium was now spinning faster than in any of the other battles as the beys raced around trying to hit the other.
“The stadium is spinning faster than it should be! Could it be that the speed of the beys themselves is increasing the stadium's speed?” The announcer asked the crowd.
“Catch up, Giraffe! Final Fury!” Ken yelled as Giraffe's spin sped up and it caught up to Ares. The stadium was spinning so fast now, both because of the beys and because of the mechanics, that the beys were pulled up to the edge. Both bladers tried to control their beys and keep them from flying out of the stadium.
“They're going to tie!” Beck shouted.
“Move down, Ares!” Chase yelled as Ares fought to get to the center of the stadium.
“Follow him, Giraffe!” Ken shouted. Giraffe followed right behind Ares until the spin became too fast for Ares, who lost it's grip on the stadium floor and hit Giraffe.
Giraffe was knocked out of the stadium, which resulted in a very lucky win for Chase.
“Darn it!” Ken shouted.
“What a skillful win! Chase used the rotation of the stadium to attack Giraffe!” The announcer exclaimed. “Battles like this are just so exciting, so let's start the next one! Jon Ghast will be battling against Lynk Sirius! Three!”
“Two!” Jon shouted as he prepped his launcher.
“One,” Lynk mumbled.
“Go shoot!”
Jon attacked Lynk's bey with Leone and the two battled fiercely until Jon won in a stamina battle.
“That battle was very long, but still full of excitement!” The announcer shouted. “Next will be a battle between Kacy Draco and Urie Brents! Three!”
“Two!” Kacy yelled as she smiled.
“Wait!” Urie shouted with worry, though everyone thought he said “One!”.
“Go shoot!” The crowd exclaimed. Kacy's bey, LDrago Destroy, was the only one that landed in the stadium. Urie hadn't even had his launcher out because he didn't have a bey!
“And it seems that Urie missed the stadium,” the announcer said. “This means that Kacy will move on to the next round!”
As Kacy walked over to the stands, she leaned over to whisper something in Dan's ear and hand something to him.
“Told you I didn't need to practice my battling.”
“Seems you've mastered pick-pocketing,” Dan agreed as he held out his hand to see what Kacy had given him. It was a Beyblade, presumably Urie's.
“And now it is time for Rebecca 'Beck' Sanders to battle the one and only Ron Calaway! Three!” The announcer started.
“Two!”
“One!”
“Go shoot!”
Beck won with a stadium-out in the first thirty seconds. The crowd cheered.
“Though it wasn't as quick as Dan's battle and not as incredibly amazing as Chase's, Beck has won with a quick and impressive battle!” The announcer said. “Now, it's getting close to lunch time, so we will have an hour-long intermission. Once we're back, though, you will not want to miss these upcoming battles!”

“Welcome back to 'Creating a Future'!” The announcer said as the intermission ended. “We have two more exciting battles to finish up so we can move on to the second round of the tournament! Let's start with Ace Yamakiro, an amazing blader! He will be facing off against Sarah Whitmor, another skilled blader! It will be the fierce Blitz Phoenix of Ace versus the powerful Duo Aquario of Sarah! Three!”
“Two!” Ace shouted.
“One!” Sarah yelled.
“Go shoot!”
Both beys landed in the stadium, Blitz Phoenix immediately circling the stadium with a crazy amount of speed due to its CS bottom. It attacked Duo Aquario and sent it flying.
“Ha! Take that!” Ace shouted to Sarah.
“Aquario can take more than that,” Sarah stated matter-of-factly.
“What about this?” Ace asked as Phoenix attacked with greater force, pushing Aquario up the spinning-stadium's side.
“Yes, Aquario can take that too,” Sarah said with a yawn. Aquario used it's Rubber Ball bottom to move behind Blitz Phoenix and knock him out of the stadium and into the air. Ace just smiled.
“Let's go, Phoenix! Wind Crushing Wing!” Ace shouted as Phoenix dove down and was headed straight for Aquario.
“Aquario, Mirage!” Sarah yelled quickly as Duo switched into Attack Mode and dodged Phoenix's attack.
“Good move!” Ace complimented. “It's not good enough, though! Phoenix, Soaring Combustion!”
The Blitz metal wheel switched from Assault Mode to Barrage mode and attacked Duo Aquario. Aquario bounced to the center of the stadium, but was dragged back up by the stadium's movement. Phoenix attacked again, knocking Aquario back to the center another time.
The stadium began spinning faster and faster and Phoenix's attacks began to do more and more damage.
“If I can just hold out until the stadium reaches the perfect speed...” Sarah said to herself. “Ah! Now! Aquario! Wave Crusher!”
Aquario attacked Phoenix, almost knocking it out of the stadium. Phoenix moved suddenly and Aquario followed to try to catch up.
“Let's finish this now, Phoenix! Attack!” Ace yelled as Phoenix attacked using it's full power. Each of Blitz's 12 blades met with the Duo metal wheel, sending it flying completely out of the stadium.
“Woah! Did everyone see that? Ace won his battle with amazing force and survived Sarah's Wave Crusher Special Move! That special move nearly always causes a KO, but this time, it was Duo Aquario who was knocked out of the stadium! Ace truly is an ace!” the announcer said. “Now, it's time we finish the first round of the tournament! It will be a battle between Tairn, using Diablo Virgo SW145RSF, versus Warren, who will be using Beat Lacerta AD145WF! Let's begin! Three!”
“Two!” Tairn said with a mumbled voice.
“One!” Yelled Warren.
“Go shoot!”
“I have no time for such weaklings,” Tairn called out. “Virgo, use Oblivion!”
Virgo unleashed a darkness that covered the stadium. The darkness seemed to explode, leaving everyone blind for about five seconds. When everyone could see, they saw Lacerta in the center of the stadium, not spinning, with Virgo right beside.
“I think that battle was over quicker than Dan's!” The announcer shouted. “Now let's move on to the second round! We will have half of these battles today and the other half tomorrow! For our first battle, Dan will be battling Frank! Three!”
“Two!” Dan yelled.
“One!” Frank called out.
“Go shoot!”
“Let's go, Cygnus!” Frank yelled. Cygnus tried to attack , but the 230 track made it almost impossible for Earth to make contact with Pisces without it leaning almost all the way over. When it did make contact, Pisces quickly got out from under.
“Finish him, Pisces!” Dan yelled as Pisces circled around behind Cygnus and hit its track, forcing Cygnus to hit the stadium floor. Cygnus bounced back up almost to its normal position, but it was wobbling. As the stadium span faster and faster, the wobbling Cygnus could not get enough grip with its SD track to keep from being pulled up the sides. Soon, Cygnus was at the edge.
“Knock him out!” Dan shouted as Pisces got behind Cygnus and forced it out of the spinning stadium.
“And Dan wins his second match of the day with another amazing battle! Next we have Jon, who will be battling Chase!” The announcer exclaimed. “Let's start now! Three!”
“Two!” Jon yelled.
“One!” Chase shouted.
“Go shoot!”
The two beys landed in the stadium. VariAres immediately began circling to the left, increasing the speed of the stadium and the rate the bey was moving. Leone headed straight for the center of the stadium as Jon formulated a plan.
“Why don't you attack?” Chase demanded. There was no response from Jon. “If you won't attack, then I'll end this now! Ares' Sword!”
Ares swung low to the center of the stadium to attack Leone. When Ares made contact, it was the one pushed back because Phantom Leone was in Attack Mode! Ares went in for another attack, but Leone wasn't there! Leone was now on the edge of the stadium, circling along with the stadium.
“Dive down, Leone!” Jon yelled as Leone dove down to attack Ares.
“Quick! Ares' Shield!” Chase yelled as the PC Frame of VariAres went back into Defense Mode. Ares absorbed the hit completely with its PC Frame and R145, knocking Leone back to the edge.
Ares quickly went to attack again, but Leone had moved to get away as Jon made a new plan.
That's when Jon realized that, with the speed of the stadium, he could create the biggest tornado from his special move. If he could just get to the edge, then he would practically have a guaranteed win.
“Go, Leone!” Jon yelled as Leone started climbing the edge of the stadium.
“Stop him, Ares!” Chase commanded. Ares attacked Leone, knocking it back to the center. Leone fought to get up again, but Ares attacked again.
Leone tried once more as Ares went to attack. Leone dodged quickly, though, to avoid Ares. Ares went and hit one of the four barriers. The force tilted the whole stadium on its side. Leone fought to continue up the steep bank of the stadium as it began to rock back into a stable position.
Leone lost grip of the stadium and headed down. Ares came around to attack. Ares hit Leone up to the edge.
“Perfect!” Jon exclaimed. “Do it now, Leone! Ghost Tornado!”
Leone began using the speed of the stadium along with its natural speed to form a vortex. The rapid-spinning tube of white wind blocked the view of all the spectators. The crowd went crazy with cheers of excitement.
In the stands, Dan just shook his head.
The tornado exploded, a wave of air hitting everyone attending the tournament. Ares was still spinning in the center of the stadium, but just barely. Leone came down to deliver the final attack. Leone used the blades of Phantom's Attack Mode to pick Ares up off of the ground. Ares fell back into the stadium on its side, resulting in Jon winning by an out-spin.
“Good battle!” Jon said to Chase.
“You too,” Chase replied.
“What a wonderful finish for the first day!” The announcer said. “Now, in order to remember this moment, we are selling 'Creating a Future' T-shirts at the gift shop! Be sure to...”
The announcer kept advertising the gift shop and told people to have a nice evening as everyone filed out of the arena.
Jon, Ken, and Beck all walked out, talking about their battles.
“That was a good battle with Chase,” Ken told Jon with a sad expression.
“It should've been you I battled against,” Jon said. “Chase got lucky.”
“You really should have won,” Beck agreed.
As they continued walking, the sun began to set. It was getting pretty late, so Beck decided to split off from the group and go home. That was when the boy, probably around thirteen years old, stepped out from the shadows.
“Who are you?” Ken asked.
“Are you asking my name or what I am?” The boy asked.
“Your name, first. Then you can tell us 'what you are',” Jon replied.
“I am Jake. I am 'The Undefeated Reviver',” the boy answered.
“'Undefeated Reviver'? What's that supposed to mean?” Ken scoffed.
“I believe you will soon find out,” Jake replied.
“Was that a challenge?” Ken accused as he got his launcher ready.
“Believe me, you don't want to do that,” Jake warned as he also prepared his launcher, just in case.
“Go shoot!” Ken shouted as he launched Killer Giraffe.
“Go shoot!” Jake yelled as he launched his bey.

“Go shoot!” Jake yelled. The two beys landed on the ground, both spinning exceptionally fast.
“What bey is that?” Jon asked. “It's completely different from any others I've seen.”
Giraffe and the new bey clashed a few times, both falling back every time they hit.
“You're a waste of my time. Finish him, Scorch Kronos! Devil's Horns!” Jake yelled. His bey, apparently named Scorch Kronos, attacked. The Core shifted into place, changing the metal wheel from having four small attack points to having two large attack points that resembled horns.
Kronos attacked Giraffe with two large arcs of attack. Giraffe was knocked into the air and fell down next to Ken's feet. It had stopped spinning.
Ken picked up Killer Giraffe and noticed two huge scratches across the clear wheel.
“Why you!” Ken shouted out. Jake had already left, though.

“And welcome to the second day of the tournament! We are in the middle of round two, and the battles seem to get more and more heated! Starting off, we have Kacy battling Beck! The dragon will be fighting the hunter as LDrago faces Orion!” The announcer stated. “Now let's start! Three!”
“Two!” Kacy yelled.
“One!” Beck shouted.
“Go shoot!”
LDrago and Orion landed in the stadium. Orion immediately went to the center to try to get a good foothold for defending against LDrago's attacks. LDrago circled around the stadium until the stadium began spinning. LDrago then stopped moving. It was still spinning, but the stadium was spinning in such a way that it prevented LDrago from moving.
“What? Oh no!” Kacy yelled, a fearful look rushing across her face. She hadn't thought about how LDrago would behave in this stadium.
“Looks like I'm going to win this easily,” Beck said, sheer pleasure in her words. “Attack now, Orion! I will pay you back for stealing Orion!”
Orion attacked mercilessly on LDrago. LDrago actually started to move some, though.
“What?” Beck asked.
“Attack again! Attack LDrago as hard as you can!” Kacy yelled out. She had realized how she could win.
“Alright, I will! Go, Orion!” Beck shouted. Orion attacked over and over, giving LDrago a bit more spin each time. This made it so LDrago was less limited on its movement even as the stadium was speeding up.
“Okay, LDrago! Now for the real power-surge! Den of Thieves!” Kacy yelled as LDrago switched to Absorb Mode and started to gain even more energy from Orion. LDrago broke free of the “restraints” the stadium had put on it, and went on the offensive.
“Hold in there, Orion!” Beck shouted as Orion was hit. At this point, despite the spinning mechanism under it, the stadium had stopped altogether.
LDrago attacked fiercely and gained power instead of losing it. Flame Orion's spin was slowing down, though, and it began to wobble. The air current provided by Down Force 145 was the only thing keeping it from toppling over after each of LDrago Destroy's attacks.
Beck knew that the only way she would win would be if she used Hunter's Aim to send out a steady stream of air to push LDrago out of the stadium. She would have to wait until the perfect moment, though.
Meanwhile, the spinning mechanism below was wearing down the base of the stadium. If the battle didn't end soon, the stadium would give out, and since it was a prototype, there would be no replacement.
“LDrago! Deliver the finishing blow!” Kacy yelled as LDrago went up to the edge of the stadium to unleash a huge attack.
“Now! Hunter's Aim!” Beck shouted as Flame Orion stood upright and shot out bursts of air. One made its mark, barely nudging LDrago over the edge. Beck had won with a stadium-out!
“And what looked like it would be a win for Beck and then for Kacy ended up going to Beck! Congratulations!” The announcer exclaimed. “Now it is time for our next battle, the final battle of round two! Let's give it up for Ace and Tairn! Three!”
“Two!” Ace yelled.
“One!” Tairn shouted.
“Go shoot!”
The two beys, Blitz Phoenix and Diablo Virgo, landed in the stadium. They both attacked each other.
“You seem like you may actually put up a fight,” Tairn commented.
“I'll do more than that!” Ace yelled. Phoenix attacked Virgo, pushing it back a bit.
“You think that affected Virgo?” Tairn laughed as Virgo attacked Phoenix, pushing it to the edge.
“Phoenix, Soaring Combustion!” Ace yelled while the Blitz metal wheel changed from Assault Mode to Barrage Mode. “See how you like that!”
Phoenix attacked Virgo, but this time, the attack did nothing!
“Do not try to defeat me. Spin for as long as you can so I may use you as practice, but do not think you can win!” Tairn said.
“Of course I can win! I am undefeated, and I won't let you break that record!” Ace yelled. Phoenix attacked Virgo again, this time pushing it back a tiny bit.
Tairn sighed.
“I see you did not heed my warning. Now it is time for me to show you what happens when you disobey. Virgo, Sun of Destruction!” Tairn shouted as a dark-purple aura surrounded her.
Virgo jumped into the air and attacked Phoenix from above using its metal wheel and track, SW145, to grind away at Phoenix. Virgo attacked it again, knocking Phoenix into the air.
“That was a mistake! Phoenix, Wind Crushing Wing!” Ace shouted as Phoenix dove down and attacked Virgo from above. The attack didn't seem to slow Virgo at all.
“You cannot win, so stop trying to do so!” Tairn commanded. Virgo attacked fiercely, pushing Phoenix to the edge. Ace gritted his teeth. He wasn't giving up. Phoenix got away from Virgo by using its CS bottom.
Phoenix came around to attack Virgo from behind and push it over the edge.
“Are you even listening? You cannot win!” Tairn said.
“Watch me! Phoenix, use our secret move! Blazing Twin Wing Barrage!” Ace yelled as Phoenix used its CS bottom to create enough heat and speed to cover the bey with flame. Phoenix sped toward Virgo and hit it. But Virgo had stopped Phoenix in its tracks!
“Whoa!” Ken said with amazement to Beck.
“'Whoa' is right,” Beck agreed.
“I told you not to try to win,” Tairn said. “It's time you understood why you shouldn't have done that. Virgo, Oblivion!”
Suddenly, just as in Tairn's first battle, darkness filled the arena. No one could see anything, but when they could, Virgo was spinning next to a very weak Phoenix.
“I'm still spinning, so I can still win!” Ace shouted. “Attack with all of your power, Phoenix!”
Phoenix used its remaining energy in a sudden burst of speed, but it wasn't enough. It hit Virgo, but Virgo absorbed the hit just like all of the others.
“I told you that you couldn't, and wouldn't, win,” Tairn sighed. She walked down the steps of the stadium.
Ace was down there, amazed that he had actually lost.
“Should we go comfort him?” Beck asked.
“You can. I'm not going to,” Ken said, blowing it off.
“I'll join you,” Jon told Beck as they walked down the aisle of the bleachers. “After all, it is time for the lunch break.”
Jon and Beck reached Ace and helped him up.
“Hey. Are you okay?” Beck asked.
“Yeah. It's just the first time I've ever actually, you know, lost,” Ace said, avoiding her gaze.
“It happens to the best of us,” Jon told him.
“I guess that's right,” Ace said, a smile returning to his face.
“Would you like to join us for lunch?” Beck offered.
“Where?” Ace asked, eager to eat.
“Probably a hamburger place,” Jon answered.
“Okay!” Ace exclaimed enthusiastically.
As the three walked out of the arena, Ken joined them. They went to a hamburger shack and ate and talked. They decided that they would create a team name since they had already sort of become a team.
“How does team Killer Instinct sound? In remembrance of Ken's bey, Killer Giraffe,” Jon suggested.
“Why don't we call it Flame Bringers? That is, if we're naming at after one of our beys,” Beck said.
“Oh, that's right. We didn't tell you about what happened after you left last night,” Jon remembered.
“What happened?” Beck asked.
“This,” Ken said as he held out the broken bey. Beck covered her mouth and gasped.
“How? Who?” Beck demanded, suddenly angry and looking for revenge.
“His name is Jake. It wouldn't be a big deal, but they no longer make parts since they've been working on the new beys,” Ken said. “I can't get any of these parts anymore, and all the Beyblade mechanics quit because of...”
“I know, I know. People were stealing and not paying for repairs,” Beck sighed with sadness.
“So you'll need a new bey?” Ace asked.
“Can't get one. Most shops are closed, and those that aren't are selling beys at extremely high prices due to the various robberies,” Ken explained sadly.
“Don't worry,” Beck said. “We'll get this Jake guy back.”
“Thanks, guys,” Ken said.
“It's no problem,” Jon replied.
“Well, we'd better get back to the tournament. The semi-finals will be starting soon,” Ace said. “By the way, I love the name 'Killer Instinct'.”

“I hope you all enjoyed your lunch, but now it's time to get started on the semi-finals!” The announcer started. “Our first battle will be Dan against Jon! After that, Beck will be battling Tairn. Let's start! Three!”
“Two!” Dan yelled.
“One!” Jon shouted.
“Go shoot!”
Burn Pisces and Phantom Leone landed in the stadium and began to circle.
“I'm not going to let this end in a tie. I will beat you,” Dan told Jon confidently.
“Just try!” Jon yelled in response. Pisces attacked Leone, pushing it back a bit.
“You're stronger, I'll give you that!” Dan complimented. “The only problem is that you're still not strong enough!”
Pisces attacked again, pushing Leone farther than before, but it was thrown off. Dan's smirk changed to an open mouth as Jon simply smiled.
“I'm more than strong enough,” Jon said. Leone then went on the offensive as it attacked Pisces. The stadium tilted as Pisces slid up the edge. Pisces and Leone both slid the way the stadium was leaning, causing the stadium to lean even more.
“Pisces!” Dan yelled as Pisces got around to the opposite side of the stadium, evening it back out.
Leone followed Pisces and attacked, pushing Pisces towards the center. Leone came down and hit Pisces another time, but this time, Leone went flying back.
“Woah! Seems like I underestimated your power! I think you're better than when you cheated,” Jon admired. “Why did you start cheating anyway?”
“It's none of your concern!” Dan snapped. He started to remember the memory that started it all.
“Hey, kid! You need to give up your bey since I beat you,” a large boy said with a thundering voice to the small child standing next to a much younger Dan.
The boy handed over the bey, crying.
“Wait!” Dan yelled. “I'll battle you! If I win, you give back the bey you just took! If you win, you can have my bey!”
“Seems like a fair deal, kid. But I'll just get another bey from you. Let's do this anyway! Three!” The boy started.
“Two!” Dan yelled.
“One! Go shoot!” The two yelled in unison. The bigger boy's bey was launched with amazing speed. Dan's, however, started off wobbling.
“Hahaha! You think you can beat me with a launch like that?!” The boy mocked as his bey beat Dan's bey back and forth.
“No! Come on!” Dan yelled at his bey, but it had already stopped spinning.
“Looks like I get your bey! Haha!” The boy said as he held out his hand. Dan gave it to him.
Dan couldn't figure out what was wrong. He had tried different customizations, different types of Beyblade, everything he could think of, except for one thing.

Back at Dan's house, he was in his dad's workshop, taking apart a launcher and modifying the gears so they would run more smoothly. He put the launcher back together and loaded his new bey, Burn Pisces, onto the launcher. He pulled the ripcord and his bey started to spin much stronger than any of his previous ones. It wasn't strong enough for Dan, though.
He now added lubricants to the launcher, made the stopping mechanism stronger with a more powerful spring, and built a ripcord three times that of the legal standard. He launched Pisces again to find that it spun for longer than any beys he had ever seen.

Dan tracked down the boy who had beaten him and his friends so many times before. It was time he got revenge.
“Hey! I want to challenge you to a bey-battle!” Dan yelled at the boy.
“You again? Aren't you out of beys yet?” The boy asked.
“No! So, are we going to do this?” Dan asked.
“The usual deal? Okay! Three!” The boy shouted.
“Two!” Dan yelled.
“One! Go shoot!” They finished as they launched their beys. As soon as the boy saw how fast Dan's bey was spinning, worry swept his face.
“Go, Pisces!” Dan said as he attacked the boy's bey. The boy's bey stopped after that one attack, and the boy ran away, emptying his pockets of all the beys he stole.
“Hey? Dan! You there?” Jon yelled as Leone attacked Pisces, knocking it up to the edge.
Pisces had lost a lot of spin. Leone had, too, but not as much as Pisces.
“Pisces! We need to gain the upper hand! Twin Fin Demolition!” Dan shouted as Pisces seemed to split in two and attack Leone.
“You're back. In that case-” Jon started. But he was cut off.
“Finish him, Pisces!” Dan yelled as Pisces attacked Leone and went back to being only one bey. Leone went flying up to the edge.
“Leone, Ghost Tornado!” Jon shouted as Leone started to circle the stadium. The tornado that was always caused by this special move began to form, but it died out.
“Good job, Pisces!” Dan said. Pisces had hit Leone and knocked him into the air.
Jon was shocked that his special move had been stopped so easily. That's when both he and Dan realized what the cost of preventing the special move actually was. Pisces had slowed so that it was obvious he only had a few rotations. Leone, however, was still spinning strong.
“Come on, Leone! It's time we ended this fight!” Jon shouted as Leone hit Pisces one last time, stopping Pisces.
“And it looks like Jon won after Dan zoned out for the middle of the battle. Anyways, it's time to get on with the tournament!” The announcer yelled. “Our next battle is Beck against Tairn! The hunter versus the maiden! Three!”
“Two!” Beck yelled.
“One!” Tairn shouted.
“Go shoot!”
Flame Orion and Diablo Virgo landed in the stadium. Virgo attacked Orion, pushing it back with the three blades of SW145 in Attack Mode.
“Orion, hold your ground!” Beck yelled. Orion stopped getting pushed back and stood tall, trying to destabilize Virgo.
“None of you pathetic bladers seem to understand. I am going to win every battle, no matter what you do! I am Tairn Hex, the ultimate blader! Virgo, attack!” Tairn shouted with rage. Virgo broke through Orion's defenses and threw it into the air as if it had been launched by a four year old.
Beck was shocked.
“Woah! That's some serious power!” Jon exclaimed.
“I know. I had to face it earlier,” Ace said.
“Beck can beat it, though. She's an amazing blader,” Ken said positively.
“I thought I was, too. Tairn's strong, though,” Ace responded.
When Orion landed back in the stadium, it slid towards the center of the stadium. Virgo was waiting at the middle to attack once Orion got close enough.
“It looks like I'm going to have to finish this sooner than I thought,” Beck said. “Someone's getting too full of herself. Orion, Hunter's Aim!”
Orion shot blasts of air at Tairn's bey, but Virgo redirected the air blasts using the gaps in its clear wheel. The air hit the side of the stadium.
“Do not try anything like that again!” Tairn shouted. “Sit there like a good girl and let me finish this quickly!”
Virgo went to attack Orion, but Orion moved out of the way quickly by using its WD bottom. Orion got to the other side of the stadium. Virgo chased it and quickly caught up using its RSF bottom.
“I plan on being the hunter, not the hunted,” Beck said. Orion dodged Virgo's attack another time, this time circling around behind Virgo. Orion attacked, but was thrown back.
“Virgo will absorb your hits easily,” Tairn said. “I recommend not attacking. You may actually last longer.”
Virgo attacked Orion again, pushing it up to the edge.
“It's time we end this puny battle, Virgo. Sun of Destruction!” Tairn yelled. Virgo jumped off of the edge of the stadium. Virgo dove and hit Orion with SW145 and Diablo. When Orion finally shook Virgo off of it, it was wobbling.
“Orion! Keep spinning!” Beck shouted. Orion stayed as stable as it could, but it was obvious it would stop spinning soon.
“Virgo, attack once more!” Tairn yelled as Virgo attacked Orion, finishing the battle. Tairn caught Diablo Virgo. Beck waited for the stadium to stop spinning and then went to get her bey. Pure sadness was on her face.
“It looks like Tairn has won the battle! This will be the conclusion of the second day! Tomorrow will hold the final battle,” the announcer said, “so be sure to watch as Jon and Tairn battle for first place!”

The next morning, before the tournament, Jon, Beck, Ken, and Ace were walking down the street towards the coffee shop. Jon and Ken were lagging a bit behind Beck and Ace.
“That Ace guy, I'm just not sure about him,” Ken said, shaking his head.
“What do you mean? He seems like a pretty nice guy. Plus, he can give us information about Tairn,” Jon explained.
“So can Beck, though,” Ken argued.
“Two heads are better than one,” Jon quoted.
“Whatever. I'm just not sure I trust him,” Ken said.
As they spoke, they walked slower and slower and had realized that Beck and Ace must have already turned a corner. Ken and Jon were pretty far behind.
Next thing, Jake showed up.
“Hey, friends!” Jake said maniacally.
“Not you again,” Ken sighed.
“You mean you're not happy to see me?” Jake asked sarcastically.
“Look, Jake. What do you want?” Jon demanded, cutting straight to the point.
“No beating around the bush with you, is there?” Jake laughed.
“Get on with it!” Ken shouted.
“Okay, okay. Sheesh! You try to befriend a guy, and this is what happens,” Jake sighed. “So, this is a warning for Jon. You might want to be careful when you battle Tairn today. She's not a regular blader.”
“What do you mean? We already know she's good. We wouldn't expect anything less than the best,” Jon said.
“I don't think you quite understand. I guess it really doesn't matter. You're doomed anyways!” Jake laughed as he walked off.
“What was that about?” Ken asked.
“He was just trying to intimidate us,” Jon said. “It doesn't really matter. I'll beat Tairn anyways.”

After Ken and Jon had caught up with Ace and Beck and they had all entered the coffee shop and ordered their coffees, they began to talk and help Jon create a strategy for his battle.
Outside, the girl who had battled Ace before he battled Tairn, was watching and listening in with a device that appeared to be like a satellite. She reported everything she heard into a walkie-talkie.
“They want to end the battle by depleting your spin-power and then finishing it with Ghost Tornado. Of course, you can stop his special move with Sun of Destruction or by getting in his bey's way,” the girl said.
“Thank you, Sarah. You have been much help. I may still have use for you,” crackled in the static-y voice of Tairn.
“Did Jake give them the warning?” Sarah asked.
“Of course. He follows my every command, just like you,” Tairn replied. “Now, I will be training, so you may want to wait before you call to report in again. I would be very...displeased...if you interrupted my practicing of the most powerful special move in my arsenal.”
“I will be sure not to interrupt as you practice,” Sarah said. “I do hope that you completely obliterate Jon, though.”
“Naturally. If he follows Jake's advice, he may forfeit, but I highly doubt it. Now, complete your research,” Tairn said as she cut-off communication.
Sarah continued to listen in and analyze the information she was receiving, though it was mostly Jon, Beck, Ken, and Ace reviewing the strategy.
“So, basically, I just want to attack with little hits to wear down her stamina for a while, then head to the middle until I unleash Ghost Tornado?” Jon asked.
“Yeah, except that you should probably avoid using Ghost Tornado until Tairn uses 'Oblivion'. Hopefully, that will completely contain the darkness that's emitted from Virgo,” Beck said.
“You'll have to be careful that Tairn doesn't use the Virgo clear wheel to redirect the air with its gaps like she did against Beck,” Ken warned.
“I can't really prevent that,” Jon argued.
“If you can get Diablo Virgo off balance, you may be able to,” Ace suggested. Then, a beeping noise came from Ken's watch.
“The battle is starting in five minutes,” Ken said. “We need to get to the stadium.”

“Welcome to the final day and final battle of 'Creating a Future'! I hope you are all as hyped up as I am to see this epic battle between Tairn Hex and Jon Ghast go down!” The announcer yelled. “Before that, though, I would like to give a bit more detailed information about each blader that we haven't already presented in the tournament. Let's start with Jon and his bey, Phantom Leone! Phantom Leone D125SD is a Stamina bey that will spin for an extremely long time and will easily counter-attack using its Semi-Defense bottom. Its Defense 125 track helps to absorb hits, and is a decent height of 12.5 millimeters! The Phantom metal wheel has two modes which help in directing airflow for longer spin-times, or for attacking the opponent! The Leone clear wheel gives this bey the behavior of the wild predator, a lion! When this bey is paired with a blader as strong as Jon, it is almost unbeatable!
“Now we're moving on to Tairn, the definition of 'girl-power'! With her wicked awesome Balance bey, Diablo Virgo SW145RSF, she is sure to do well! The Rubber Semi Flat bottom helps with powerful and swift attacks while also providing a rock solid defense! The Switch 145 track helps in attacking and defending as well, and at a great height of 14.5 millimeters! The Diablo metal wheel, originally used by Rago, the servant of Hades, has great defensive capabilities, due to its weight, and great attack power, due to its designs. Finally, the Virgo clear wheel has designs emulating a woman's hair. These designs produce two gaps that Tairn has used to redirect air flow in her special move, Oblivion. By speeding up the air current, the wind blocks out all of the light as Virgo attacks its opponent!
“Also, something we didn't announce earlier, but the winner will obtain parts from the new system of Beyblade! We have a Saramanda chrome wheel and a Guardian crystal wheel along with the new Stone Face! Now, let's get this started! Three!”
“Two!” Jon yelled.
“One!” Tairn shouted.
“Go shoot!”
Virgo and Leone landed in the stadium and circled around, both bladers looking for the opportunity to attack. Jon gritted his teeth with determination. Tairn looked relaxed.
Leone went to the center of the stadium, but as the spin of the stadium incresed, Jon wouldn't let it stay there for fear of the opposite-spin causing extreme wear on the bey. Virgo circled and its speed increased with the stadium's.
“Go, Leone!” Jon yelled. Leone attacked Virgo with a few small hits, one right after the other. Virgo deflected them all with ease, as was expected. Leone attacked again, this time making good contact with one of Diablo's main contact points. Virgo and Leone were both thrown back. Leone went in to attack again, but Virgo had been thrown into the air.
“Virgo, show this mortal who he is dealing with! Sun of Destruction!” Tairn shouted as Virgo dove down and acted like a saw, grinding away at Leone using SW145 and the metal wheel. Leone soon threw off the attack, knocking Virgo back into the air.
“Good luck attacking when Leone is in Attack Mode! I've got an answer for everything you throw at me!” Jon claimed. Leone attacked again, this time doing a bit more damage to Virgo than any attacks before. Both beys were still spinning strongly, though both a had a little bit of wobble.
“Fool! How dare you?! Do you still not understand who you are fighting with?” Tairn exclaimed with anger as she lost her formerly cool persona.
“What's there to understand? You're my opponent, just like Dan was. And I'll beat you like I beat him!” Jon shouted as Leone attacked another time, pushing Virgo back.
“I am not at all like Dan or any of these other bladers! I am Tairn Hex, the Daughter of Hades himself! I will not tolerate you treating me like anything less than your ruler and queen! Now you will experience my wrath firsthand! Virgo, Oblivion!” Tairn shouted.
Jon exclaimed right after, saying, “Leone, now! Ghost Tornado!”
Leone began to circle the stadium as darkness exploded from Virgo. The tornado formed, capturing most of the darkness. You could see the blackness seeping out of the cyclone in certain areas, though it quickly faded. This enraged Tairn, and her expression went from angry to rageful.
The tornado died out and so did the darkness. The two beys continued to spin in place as both bladers tried to figure out what to do next.
“You foolish mortal! All of you are, but you especially!” Tairn yelled directly at Jon. “When you lose, you will experience for more anguish and fear than anything you could imagine!”
“And when you lose, what's going to happen? You aren't truly the daughter of Hades. Even if you were, there's nothing you can do! Nemesis was sealed away,” Jon said.
“Maybe so, but you do not understand. I have the power of Nemesis in the palm of my hand! I can choose to do with it what I wish, and I will use it to defeat you!” Tairn shouted. “Virgo, attack!”
Virgo attacked Leone, pushing it to the edge of the stadium (which was now spinning so rapidly, you could hardly see what was going on). Virgo backed off to prepare for the finishing hit, and then charged. It hit Leone, knocking it into the air. Leone was about to KO when the stadium wall spun around, knocking it back in.
“That was close!” Beck exclaimed.
Leone landed in the center of the stadium, but was dragged up by the centrifugal force of the spinning stadium. Virgo was circling around at insanely high speeds and when Leone reached Virgo's circle, it was pushed back.
“Come on, Leone! We have to win! We have to win for Beck and Ace, and Ken needs the parts!” Jon shouted. Leone attacked Virgo this time, stopping Virgo's circling attack. Other than that, though, Virgo seemed un-touched.
“Virgo! Show them you have the power of Nemesis! Revival!” Tairn yelled. Virgo suddenly started to shake as the stadium was coated in a dark fog. The fog then began to circle around Virgo as a separate circle closed in on Leone, stopping it from moving. The circle of fog around Virgo started to form into a human-looking shape. As the fog became more and more detailed, the shape looked like Hades!
“Now you will see Hades' wrath!” Tairn shouted as the crowd screamed in terror. The figure, apparently Hades, punched the stadium, destroying the center. The stadium stopped spinning and Hades sent blasts of air and fog into the stands and in the stadium randomly. Leone stopped spinning after it was hit, and Hades aimed for Jon. The blast of air hit Jon, rendering him unconscious. The fog then dissipated and the battle was over.
“What an amazing battle!” The announcer shouted, clearly oblivious to the fact that Tairn was evil. He walked down from the announcers box to hand Tairn a prize box. “And here you are! I hope you enjoy-”
“I have no use for this,” Tairn said as she knocked the box out of the announcer's hands and shoved him to the ground. “Jake, Sarah. Follow me.”
Jake and Sarah left the stands and followed Tairn out the exit. Ken went and picked up the prize box and handed it to the announcer.
“I guess she didn't want it,” Ken told him.
“I guess you're right. I don't have any use for it, so you can keep it, kid,” the announcer told Ken. Then, he started talking in his microphone again. “It seems that 'Creating a Future' is over! Good job to everybody who participated!”
An ambulance came and picked Jon up and took him to the hospital, leaving Beck, Ken, and Ace.
“Well, now that the tournament is over, I don't really think I need a team,” Ace said. “Maybe I'll see you all later. Tell Jon that I hope he feels better.”
“We will,” Beck assured him. After Ace left, she spoke to Ken. “We aren't going to let Tairn get away with this, are we?”
“Not by a long shot. Once Jon's better, we're going after her,” Ken replied.

The day after the tournament, Jon was still in the hospital. Ken was pacing back and forth at the foot of the hospital bed and Beck was sitting in a chair next to the bed. The doctors said that Jon was in a coma and that he probably wouldn't wake up for a day or two. The hospital had called Jon's parents, but they had both been out of town on business and wouldn't be able to get back until the next day.
“Come on, Jon,” Beck said softly.
“It's no use!” Ken yelled as he hit the wall with his fist. “He's not going to wake up yet! We need to go find Tairn and return the 'gift' she gave to Jon!”
“Be quiet, Ken. Do you want the nurse to call security again? You'll get thrown out this time,” Beck warned.
“I can't just sit here and do nothing,” Ken said as he turned his back to the wall and sunk to the floor. Beck walked over and sat next to Ken.
“I understand how you feel,” Beck comforted, “but we can't just leave Jon!”
“Why not? He's not going anywhere. Maybe we could track down Tairn before Jon wakes up and surprise him,” Ken said.
“And leave Jon here all alone? We can't do that!” Beck replied.
“I'm going,” Ken said as he stood up. Beck got up, too, and stood next to him.
“You said that last night, but you didn't go. Please don't leave today,” Beck pleaded.
“Bye,” Ken said coldly as he walked out the door.

Jake was running down a street he didn't recognize. After being brought out to the middle of nowhere by Tairn, he couldn't tell where he was. He needed to get away as fast as he could. Jake knew that someone was probably following him, possibly Sarah or even Tairn herself.
Jake tripped. He tried to catch himself with his hands, but a broken bottle was on the road. He cut his left hand as he stopped himself from falling, and blood dripped down his arm. He stood back up and ran again, though, as if nothing had happened.
The sun began to set just as Jake slowed because of fatigue. He saw a figure walking over the hill in front of him. Jake began to panic, not sure if it was Tairn or Sarah. He turned to run, but the figure yelled out.
“Where is Tairn?” The familiar voice demanded, obviously not wanting to play any games.
“Ken, my friend! I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance. Tairn is not exactly pleased with me at the moment, and won't share any 'sensitive' information, like that, with me,” Jake explained.
“I don't have time for lies!” Ken shouted as he prepped his launcher with his new bey, Guardian Saramanda GB145RF.
“That's kind of a waste of time,” Jake smiled as he held up his hand, which was still bleeding. Ken still held his launcher up.
“What happened there? Did your game of patty-cake get out of hand?” Ken mocked. “Come on. I just need to know where Tairn is.”
“Yeah, patty-cake is pretty rough. And I already told you, I have no idea where Tairn is,” Jake replied.
Ken lowered his launcher a bit, but quickly put it back up, not sure whether he should believe Jake or not.
“Give me a reason why I should believe you,” Ken said as he started to believe Jake.
“Oh my GOSH! Just let me go!” Jake yelled. He quickly closed his mouth, realizing he may have given his position away to the enemy.
“Look, I'm not going to-” Ken started before being cut off.
“Shut up!” Jake whispered urgently. A second later, Ken heard what made him believe Jake and Jake heard the sound that scared him to death.
“He's over that hill! And he's with somebody!” The voice of a certain girl, Sarah, shouted.

“I'm sorry, Jon. I've got to go,” Beck said to the sleeping boy. “I'll be back as soon as I can be.”
Beck walked out of the hospital to go to the Bey Park. She just needed to get away from the hospital to clear her head.
Once she got to the Bey Park, she saw that Dan, Kacy, and Chase had taken it over again. Chase just finished beating a blader by knocking the kid's bey into the side of the complex, leaving it stuck in the wall.
Dan noticed Beck. “What are you here for?”
“I was looking to have a fun battle, but it looks like you guys have taken the Bey Park again,” Beck semi-pouted.
“I told you that nothing was changing just because of the tournament,” Dan replied, “but that doesn't mean we can't still battle!”
Dan readied his launcher, but Kacy stepped in front of him.
“Woah, Dan. Let me face her. I want revenge,” Kacy said. “Besides. I haven't battled since my loss in the tournament.”
“Fine,” Dan stated coldly as he unloaded his launcher. “You'd better not lose again, though.”
“No problem,” Kacy said confidently. “Three!”
“Two!” Beck shouted.
“One! Go shoot!”

Jon shot up straight in his bed, screaming. The IV tubes were torn from his wrist. Sweat began pouring down his face. The monitors around him started to blare warning signals and the heart rate monitor screen turned bright red as his heart started beating over 220 beats per minute.
The doctor rushed in and started ordering the nurses on what to do. Everything seemed to be in slow-motion to Jon. He stopped screaming and began to hyperventilate when suddenly, he got extremely dizzy and fainted again. His heart rate returned to normal as he fell down into his bed.

Ken and Jake were running as fast as they could to get away from Sarah and the rest of Tairn's team. They cut off into a forest and began dodging trees and branches to try to lose their pursuers. Nothing seemed to shake them off, though.
“Go shoot!” One of the voices behind them yelled. Ken got hit in the back and fell to the ground., spraining his ankle. His shirt had a huge tear from where the bey hit and the blue color was replaced with a dark reddish-brown. Jake had stopped beside him, though the enemy was getting closer every second.
“Go on ahead,” Ken said to Jake. “They're after you, not me.”
Jake stood there, thinking about it, not sure whether to help or not.
“Go!” Ken yelled.
“No,” Jake said as he lowered his arm to help Ken up. Ken got up and hobbled along with Jake's help. They got to a small cave where they thought they might be able to lose Sarah.
“They've got to be around here somewhere. Spread out!” Sarah shouted. She hopped off a ledge and kept walking, not checking the hole large enough for two people to hide in.

“Go, Orion!” Beck shouted as Orion attacked LDrago, trying to get under it to destabilize it.
“You can't get anywhere trying to attack from below. My 100 track keeps anything from getting underneath me,” Kacy said as LDrago threw off Orion's attack. Then it counter-attacked, pushing Orion to the edge of the stadium.
“Come on, Orion! Hold on!” Beck yelled through gritted teeth. She was honestly afraid that she might lose this battle.
“Okay, LDrago! Finish this with Den of Thieves!” Kacy yelled as LDrago began to absorb more and more of Orion's power until it had more spin than Orion.
“Get away!” Beck yelled. Orion ran to the edge to try to get away. As soon as Beck had realized her mistake, though, it was too late.
“Finish it, LDrago!” Kacy shouted. LDrago went and hit Orion the little bit needed to push it out of the stadium. Kacy had won.
“Look, Beck. Don't think this rivalry is over because we're even. Next time we meet, I'll beat you worse,” Kacy warned.
“Or maybe you won't beat me at all,” Beck replied.
“In your dreams.”

Sarah and her goons had left the area and Ken and Jake climbed out from the cave. Jake helped Ken up and they walked towards the main city. Ken winced with every step. They got back out of the forest and onto the main road so they could find their way more easily, but walking was still difficult for Ken.
“So, what even happened? Why were you running away from them?” Ken asked between groans of pain.
“I told you. Tairn wasn't really pleased with me,” Jake answered.
“But why not?” Ken inquired.
“It's kind of a long story,” Jake said, trying to avoid the subject.
“Well, we've got a long way to go,” Ken replied.
“Okay. I'll tell you,” Jake said, finally giving in. “She wanted to revive Hades. I mean, I knew that from the start, but I didn't realize what it would take. She needed me to destroy as many beys as I could to prevent anyone from stopping her. That's why I broke yours. Anyway, I guess I had met the requirement, and she wanted me to sacrifice my own bey in case I changed my mind about helping her. Then, when I refused, she started to glow with some type of...darkness. Honestly, I was scared. I still am.
Jake was trembling at the moment.
“She tried to make me hand over my bey, but I ran instead. She sent Sarah after me. I tripped and cut my hand earlier, and then I met you along the way.”
“Wow. So, you're doing all this to protect your bey?” Ken asked understandingly, knowing he would've done the same.
“Partially. I think I'm changing my mind about helping Tairn, though. She's pure evil,” Jake said.
They got over the top of a hill and saw that Sarah and her gang of Tairn-supporters had set up a roadblock to catch Jake.
“There they are!” One of the people yelled and pointed.
“Great. They've seen us,” Ken said.
“Looks like you'll have to fight them off. I can't launch,” Jake told him.
“I'll do my best,” Ken replied.

Beck had returned back to the hospital. She had been to Jon's room, but he was no longer there. She then went to the lobby and stood at the front desk.
“Jon Ghast? I'll look it up,” the receptionist said as she typed something into her computer. She frowned.
“What is it?” Beck asked, worried suddenly.
“He's no longer at this hospital. He was transferred when his symptoms got worse,” the lady at the front desk explained.
“Wait, how? He was in a coma. What's going on now?” Beck demanded.
“The only details I got were what I just told you. I don't even know what hospital he's at now. I'm sorry,” the receptionist told her.
“Can you try to get more?” Beck begged.
“I'll do my best. If you can wait here, I'll get as much as I can. It might take a while, though,” the receptionist warned.
“Thank you.”

“Three! Two! One! Go shoot!” Ken, Sarah, and the other bladers shouted as they pulled their ripcords and strings. Guardian Saramanda, Ken's new bey, was soon surrounded by Duo Aquario and the other bladers' beys.
“Don't let them get a single attack in, Ken,” Jake shouted.
“Shut up, traitor!” Sarah yelled as Aquario charged for Saramanda.
“Dodge, Saramanda!” Ken yelled as Saramanda moved to get away from the attack. He was intercepted by two other beys, though, and Aquario came around to hit again. This time, it made contact, pushing Saramanda and the other two beys back.
Saramanda got away and charged at some of the bladers' beys, stopping them easily. But Ken was still outnumbered ten to one.
“There's no way you can win,” Sarah mocked. “Even if you beat all my 'teammates', you can't stand up to the challenge of a blader of my caliber.”
“Really? Looks like I'm going to have to prove you wrong! Saramanda!” Ken yelled. Saramanda attacked the nine bladers' beys, leaving only Duo Aquario and itself still spinning. Saramanda had slowed a bit, though. Sarah smiled.
“You think you've done pretty well, don't you? However, you just wasted a ton of spin on worthless beys,” Sarah laughed. “Now to finish you off. Aquario!”
Aquario attacked Saramanda, lowering its spin even more so that it began to wobble.
“You've got to be kidding me,” Ken said under his breath. Then he thought, 'If I can't beat one of Tairn's lousy underlings, how am I supposed to beat her?'
Aquario swung in to attack again.
“Go shoot!” A familiar voice yelled as Blitz Phoenix stopped Duo Aquario before it could reach Saramanda.
“Ace?” Ken asked, shocked to find him there at that point in time. To answer his question, Ace jumped down from a tree.
“Stay out of this!” Sarah yelled.
“Then stop trying to hurt my friend,” Ace said. Then he noticed Jake. Jake saw this, and explained.
“I'm no longer one of Tairn's henchmen,” Jake told him.
“He's pretty injured, too,” Ken said, just realizing how bad his bleeding hand really was. It still hadn't stopped, meaning the cut must've been very deep.
“Get him to the hospital, then,” Ace told him. “I'll take care of Sarah.”
“Alright. Thanks,” Ken said as he and Jake walked off. Last they heard was Ace.
“Go, Phoenix!”

Jon began to open his eyes slowly. He was in an unfamiliar room. Then he remembered what had happened and he began to scream as the images flashed back into his mind. No noise escaped his lips, though. A man with a thin goatee and orange sunglasses came in. Jon began to scream more, not knowing who this man was and automatically associating the horrifying images in his mind with the man.
“Hello to you, too,” the man said as he stroked the fur of the rabbit he was holding in his arms. “Let me explain why you're not making any noise no matter how much you try. I gave your vocal chords a sedative, so no matter what you do, you can't scream. Now, I understand you have gone through an extremely traumatic event. I can help you to channel that fear. You see, I am a doctor. Dr. Ziggurat, to be exact.”

“What's he doing here?!” Beck yelled, pointing at a faint and pale Jake with rage.
“Relax,” Ken said. “He's not what you think.”
Ken helped pull Jake to the front desk, but Jake was barely conscious. The lady at the front desk signaled for Ken to come closer.
“What happened?” The lady asked.
“He cut his hand,” Ken told her urgently. “He really needs help.”
“Alright,” the lady said as she typed away at her computer. Two nurses came into the lobby through side doors and helped Ken lead the semi-conscious Jake to a room where he would be treated. “Do you want to go with them?”
“What I really want is to know where Jon is,” Beck almost shouted at the woman. The sight of Jake had clearly angered her.
“I told you, there's not much I can find. I've been working on it for almost thirty minutes,” the lady snapped back. Beck gritted her teeth, and you could almost see the fiery rage ready to burst forth from behind the dental cage.
“Fine! I'll find him myself!” Beck yelled as she turned and ran from the hospital. She ran across the street and was almost hit by a car. The driver blared the horn and yelled.
“Get out of the way!”
Beck just ran. This was not what she wanted. She wanted to find Jon and help him. Without him and without Ken, she had felt herself falling apart. Now, Ken was helping Jake. The team didn't seem to be a team. Jon was hurt and Ken didn't seem to want to help. There was nothing she could do.

“He lost a lot of blood,” the doctor told Ken. “He should be alright, though. His hand has been sewn closed. He may still be unconscious for a little while, though. The sedative plus the lack of blood knocked him right out.”
“Hmm,” Ken grunted as he nodded. The heart-rate monitor beeped at a normal rate in the corner. The IV led from Jake's wrist to a small sack full of a clear liquid and another with blood.
“Once he wakes up, he can go home,” the doctor said as he stood up and left the room.

“Where did they go?” Tairn demanded.
“I'm sorry. I don't know,” Sarah answered, trying to hide the fact she was crying. She was kneeling before Tairn.
“And that Ace boy? What became of him?' Tairn yelled.
“I'm- I'm not sure,” Sarah spat out.
“You do know what this means, don't you?” Tairn asked.
“Yes,” Sarah said with sudden strength. “I don't have to follow your rules, though.”
“Actually, you do,” Tairn said as she pulled her launcher and Diablo Virgo out of what seemed to be thin air. “Go, Virgo!”
Diablo Virgo shot straight for Sarah, who instinctively pulled out her launcher and launched Duo Aquario, the two beys colliding in mid air.
“I'm sorry it has to end this way,” Tairn said with mock sorrow. Then, she laughed. “Virgo! Oblivion!”
Darkness crept out of Virgo, its tendrils wrapping around the entire lair. It gripped Sarah and picked her up. Aquario was held in what seemed to be an orb of utter shadow.
“Aquario!” Sarah shouted through her tears. The ball of darkness shrunk to a microscopic size and exploded, sending parts of Sarah's broken bey all around. They seemed to be smoking, but it was just the darkness of Virgo seeping back out of the bey.
“This is why you should never challenge my power,” Tairn stated. “Especially when I am in the Temple of Darkness.”
Sarah fell to the floor as the shadows retreated. Tears streamed down her face.

Jon was sitting in a large room. A giant television screen was at the front with a circular table sitting right in front. There were four green desks facing the television. At the one farthest from the screen was a young Brazilian man.
“You see, Jon, we have a plan for you,” the young man said with a sinister smile.
“What type of plan?” Jon asked.
“You see,” a young woman who was sitting to the far left started, “ we need you to test something out for us.”
“Reboot is complete,” an automated voice with a French accent said as a shadowy orb rose out of the table at the front of the room.
“Yeah! Now we can get rid of that loser Ziggurat!” A teenage boy with black hair hanging down over his right eye exclaimed.
“Call him in,” another young man who was sitting to the far right of the room said.
“Wait,” Jon said, confused. “Why do you need me?”
“We'll get to that in a second. Merci!” the young man at the back of the room said.
“Yes, Monsieur Argo,” the automated voice replied.
“Call in Ziggurat,” the man, apparently named Argo said.
“Hey! Wait a second! Are you- are you Team Garcias?” Jon asked, shocked.
“That's right! I'm surprised you didn't recognize us earlier!” The girl, obviously Selen, replied.
“Then-” Jon started, before getting cut off.
“You called?” Dr. Ziggurat asked as he walked in.
“We did,” Argo said.
“And what do you need? I'm a busy man,” Ziggurat said.
“We know,” Ian, the young man on the right said. “Have you finished the NAS yet?”
“Of course,” Ziggurat replied.
“Then get rid of him!” Enzo exclaimed with joy. Two men came in through the door Ziggurat had used earlier and grabbed him from behind.
“What? You can't do this!” Ziggurat yelled as he tried to get loose. The two men were much stronger, though, and easily pulled him out of the room.
“You see, Jon. You should be sure to follow our every order,” Argo said as he turned to look at Jon.

“Are you alright?” Ken asked Jake.
“Yeah. Just get me out of this place. I hate hospitals,” Jake replied as he stood up and pulled a jacket on.
“Alright,” Ken said as they walked out of the room together.
“Where did that girl go?” Jake asked.
“She was in the lobby,” Ken told him as they walked down the hall. They reached the lobby and saw that the same woman was working there.
“Hey, we need some help,” Jake said.
“Look. I already told that young lady I don't know where Jon is. She ran off looking for him,” th lady told them coldly.
“Thanks,” Ken said, not sure why she was upset.
“What should we do?” Jake asked.
“I'm not really sure. Maybe we could go after Beck? We should probably look for Jon, too, but where?” Ken wondered.
“I've got a better idea. Let's go after Tairn,” Jake suggested in a manner that implied nothing would change his mind.

Beck's breath was growing heavier and heavier. She had run for twenty minutes at full speed and was still jogging now. She didn't know where she was going, but she knew that she would eventually find Jon. She was starting to doubt that, though. She had no idea where he was, or even where she was at this point.
“I shouldn't have left without Ken,” Beck said through labored breaths. She bit her lip as her eyes began to tear up again. She didn't notice the person who was catching up to her.
“Hey!” A young girl with blonde hair called as she stopped in front of Beck. Beck stopped.
“Wha- what do you need?” Beck asked.
“Why're you running?” The little girl asked her.
“I'm looking for someone,” Beck replied as she reached up a wiped the tears from her eyes.
“What's wrong?” The girl wondered, noticing Beck was sad for the first time.
“Nothing,” Beck answered shortly, turning her head from the girl.
“Okay. Can I help you find who you're looking for?” The girl asked.
“Um.. Yeah, I guess so,” Beck said, a smile flickering on her face. “Let's go this way. What's your name?”
“My name's Ren,” the girl said as she walked with Beck. “Who are you?”
“I'm Beck,” she told Ren.
“What does that mean?” Ren inquired.
“What does my name mean? It's just my name. It doesn't really mean anything, I guess,” Beck said.
“It has to mean something, though! Like my name. My name means 'love',” Ren said.
“I don't think my name means anything like that,” Beck told her.
“Well, maybe it means 'nice',” Ren suggested as she started to skip.

“What is this thing?” Jon (who was now in a wetsuit) asked as a glass tube slid down around the circular platform he was on.
“It's the NAS, or New Arrangement System,” Selen answered as she typed something into the control panel that was beside the glass tube.
“What will it do?” Jon worried.
“It'll help you to confront your fear,” Selen told him. “Now grab that mask that's on the ground there.”
Jon stooped down and picked up a silverish-blueish mask with yellow-tinted lenses and a breathing piece that covered his mouth and nose that was connected to a tube. The tube ran to the top of the tube.
“Do I put this on?” Jon asked.
“Yes,” Selen said. Jon put the mask on, and as soon as it made contact with his skin, thousands of tiny nanoneedles fused the mask to his face.
“Ouch!” Jon shouted. His voice was muffled by the mouth piece.
“Now try to stay still,” Selen said as she pushed a button on the control panel. Instantly, a transparent red liquid began to fill the chamber from vents in the top. Once the tube was filled, Selen pressed another button.
“Haha! It tickles!” Jon laughed as the liquid began to bubble.
“It won't for long,” Selen said under her breath as she turned a knob on the panel. The liquid began to bubble even more. Then, she told Jon, “I'm running static electricity along the tube. The liquid translates this electricity into a rhythm that will sync with the electrical impulses in your brain. It will then gradually change yours to match it.”
Selen turned the knob even more. The liquid began to glow white as it bubbled. Jon clenched his entire body up and closed his eyes as the tickling sensation began to turn into that of being stabbed by tiny of little needles.
“The pain is entirely natural. It will be over soon,” Selen said. She turned the knob all the way up now. The lights throughout the room began to flicker as the liquid began to glow a bright blue and Jon's hair turned blue. The mask started to turn a hot orange. Jon yelled as the mask completely fused to his face. The power cut completely out and turned back on a second later. Jon was floating unconsciously in the tube. Selen pressed a button as vents in the floor allowed for the liquid to exit.

“Monsieur Argo, we have found more experimental information from the WBBA. I believe it will help in the creation of Jon's new bey,” Merci told Argo.
“Thank you, Merci. What do you have?” Argo asked.
“Currently, only one new piece is complete. That is the Crystal Wheel Archer,” Merci replied.
“Send the blueprints to the lab and tell them to make him a Chrome Wheel. With this new generation, we will rule the Beyblade world!” Argo laughed maniacally.
“Tres bien,” Merci said.

“Look! It's Copy-cat!” A little boy yelled as he pointed at Ren.
“Don't call me that!” Ren said.
“Who is that with you, Copy-cat?' Another little boy taunted, referring to Beck.
“She's my friend!” Ren replied. “Isn't that right?”
“Yeah,” Beck said. “Who are these kids?”
“They're mean,” Ren answered.
“We're not mean! You're the one who likes to steal our special moves!” The first boy accused.
“I don't steal them!” Ren yelled.
“Prove it!” The other boy yelled.
“Fine!” Ren yelled as she pulled out a small launcher and a bey.
“You kids like to Beyblade?” Beck asked.
“Yeah!” The first boy said as he pulled out a similar launcher and bey. “Now let's battle! Three!”
“Two!” Ren shouted.
“One! Go shoot!”
Ren's bey was launched at a poor speed, but so was the boy's. They were both wobbling as they went towards each other.
“Go, Bull! Horn Smash!” The boy said as his bey hit a pebble and hopped into the air for a split-second.
“Come on, Lacerta! Hit him!” Ren yelled as her bey did the same as the boy's Bull. Then they both hit each other and fell over.
“See! No one ever wins because you always make it a tie! You're such a copy-cat!” The boy yelled as he picked up his bey and ran off.
“I'm not a copy-cat!” Ren pouted.
“Don't listen to them. It's pretty amazing that you can find a way to do the same move as your opponent,” Beck said with a smile.
“Really?” Ren asked hopefully.
“Yeah!” Beck said.
“Thank you! Now let's go find your friend!” Ren shouted happily.

“The Temple is right over this hill,” Jake told Ken.
“Why doesn't Tairn have any guards?” Ken asked.
“I normally do,” Tairn said as she pointed her launcher at the two teens.
