Vote for whose sig you think is best to decide who made the best sig.

Please vote.
Put up a poll. It would make life much easier.
I voted Jaze because LDrago's was too dark and Jaze's was more colourful and easier to see also if I had to choose one it would be that.
Drago; you tried to go for minimalism and slightly failed, The little use of colours darkens the sig too much, no background gives it an empty feel and your smudges/pen tool did not work in harmony with the picture, even the text is badly aligned and colour badly chosen. 4/10, one of your worst pieces of work (since a week ago)

Jaze; your explosion of light and colour has worked very effectively especially since we all know who this person is and his personality, creating a sig based on someones personality can be very risky, but for you it paid off extremely well although you should have worked more on the overall lighting. 8/10.

hmm mukilab, you're talking like a pro Smile
very good C&C Grin
mby a battle after this one? ^^
btw guys, thx for the votes
well im not an expert or nothin but it looks like Jaze- won
It must be taken into account that a lot of the explosion behind Ginga was already there in the original picture ... For this reason, I would go for none of the signatures; however, looking at LDrago's, the decision is still obvious anyway : Jaze-'s.
Definitely Jaze-'s, although it is rather large. LDrago's is just too simple and doesn't really catch the eye.
Would have to choose Jaze's. Colors work well. Variants of red and blue are used (even a combination of both to make a slight purple) and nothing is really out of place. Text is not over-the-top and is classy for this piece.

LDrago's has Kai oversaturated and quite frankly, is a bit bland when put into comparison with Jaze's.

Thanks, but i don't do sigs any more. Now i only work into real time and also some 3-d graphics modelling (please check out my thread: http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Concepts-into-3-D)

Oh by the way, i'm not a pro, only've been a couple of years doing sigs, not much compared to others.

You'd be suprised by how much Jaze has done with that image. Study both of them quite carefully.

I did, and I still find my comment appropriate. What would have started amazing me is if the original background had been erased and replaced my a custom one, at least.

true, but that would have been pointless and a waste of time in my opinion. The hugest changes from the render to signature are probably lighting effects and transition of colour. The render has near to no lighting effects while the signature has a huge amount, although they could be considerably improved. Also he has gone from quite a dark murky background to a more flowing and light one which would take some considerable work and thought.

LDrago, the problem with your sig is that you didn't really look over it, and once you created that one sig you just stuck with it. You could have created another.
What ... ? I don't see many lighting effects. The more I look at it with the image Kai-V posted, the more apparent it becomes that all he's done is tinkered with contrast and hue settings. He's also done a few additional strokes around the piece.

I'm certainly not knocking Jaze-'s work; it's very well done and appropriately coloured; however I wouldn't say he's made revolutionary changes to the piece.
Adding colour to a dark background is incredibly easy and does not require much intelligence. You just need eyes for the colour you choose.

no if you mix it with various sfx.
Still. And you would have to know how many of those 'effects' are brushes ... All the 'good graphic designers' I know use brushes except me and one or two people.

true. I find it annoying though now i have so many brushes after sigs that i cannot find the right one (70+ sets of brushes)
Here LDrago - a vote for luck Grin

Even the smoke on the side ?

Perhaps later. My artwork is usually very meaningful and just OK+ graphics-wise though, apparently. If I see that I have time, I will contact you, but I already have requests to do, screenshots to take, and manga chapters to edit ...
