Intro
At least read this once!

Welcome to the first of potentially many advanced forum topic-by-topic discussions! The goal of this/these threads is to allow for focused discussion on a single topic every couple of days in the hopes that we may come to a solid conclusion on many pressing matters, and hopefully generate some good conversation in the process.

The way these threads will work is that a topic will be presented and we will spend roughly 2-3 days only talking about that topic (or more or less if needed, but preferably not too much more). At the end of that time period, we will draw a conclusion for the conversation (be that via consensus or by putting it to a vote) and then move on to a new topic. There will be a lot of topic ideas in the OP, but if you have any to add post them so they can be put in the backlog.

There will be several things in this central thread for organizational purposes. First, there will be a directory that contains links to the threads where a discussion on a topic starts to allow quick access to any conversation. Second, there will be a topic backlog that lists all the proposed topic ideas; this backlog will be in no particular order, such that we can discuss anything anyone requests. Finally, there will be a list of all the topics that have been discussed and a brief summary of the conclusion drawn for quick reference.

Discussion on each topic will be relegated to the topic's threads, and this thread will be for discussing what we should talk about next or for topic ideas.

Hopefully this thread series will spark some actual discussion in this advanced forum! If you have anything to add on any topic or just want to cast a vote on a conclusion, please do! It would be great if this didn't bomb, but that will depend entirely on participation!

10/8/12 Update:
- The discussion on "What are 'Anti-Attackers'?" will be open for one more day, after which a summary will be written and the topic "concluded."
- The discussion for subcategories in the tier list will remain open for awhile seeing as we don't have the opinion of many members in the thread yet. If we don't get more responses in the coming week, the thread will be "concluded."

Upcoming Topics:
- Should there be a section in the defense section for general Synchroms?
- What attackers are actually competitive?

These two topics will be posted tomorrow when the summary for the Anti-Attackers thread is written.
