It's cubed because you can get the value by constructing a cube with line length x, where x is equal to what you're cubing. Basically, it's a line raised to the third dimension, and thus is a cube, not a triangle.
Also, I can deny that Kai-V is an awesome dude, because Kai-V's a woman.
