Well, people had strange and creepy theories why he is still 10. But the reason why is because Nintendo really just doesn't care. As long as Nintendo gets money from it, they won't change it. He will still be a fail with a electric mouse, he will still collect badges and Pokemon, and try to beat the Pokemon League. Please say something if you agree or have different reasons why you think.
Couldn't this go in Gaming Random Thoughts ... ?

EDIT: Delete my comment if needed please.
Well, its based off the anime. I thought that too, but anime would go with Media.
I think he is still ten to appeal to the younger generation and am i the only one who believes the show failed starting at the diamond and pearl series
Thats a good point. But this stuff does come from Japan, who thought very inappropriate things are funny for kids.
Maybe in the pokemon world there are like a million days in a year lol.
Haha, but the PokeEarth is basically a fantasy Earth. ; I don't really like much of the anime, but I thought this was a interesting topic.
Maybe they just want to run a different series each time, so it can sequel in the video game series as well. Even such, I would love Ash to stay 10 instead of being 20 and teaching his kids and blah blah blah. Testing out new Pokemon in different worlds in the video game and seeing ash defeat the Sinnoh league around the world is also quite interesting, and if if still goes on; I would just say, memories.
I agree with Tsuna.

If Ash was 20, then it would be weird if Ash challenged a gym and also I think he's still 10 because of the young audience that watches the show
Well, they don't want to bring in a new cast, like Beyblade.
It's an error. Ash isn't ten. In Pikachu and Pichu, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, and the other Pokémon celebrated Ash's eleventh birthday. Also, his voice has seemed to mature throughout the seasons. Best Wishes made a mistake. Ash is about 14 or 15 now.

EDIT: I agree with Adele L. Adkins. It's about time for them to start over.

I don't think pokemon should start over, because I think it's about time to put the Johto characters back in and let them start there own series. Either that, or Pokemon might ocme to an end, but they keep the video game franchise going.
i agree with u souleater57

Good point. I forgot that short film, but yet again, I don't watch the anime anymore.

Having a protagonist that doesn't noticeably age coupled with how episodic and repetitive the Pokemon anime is should tell you your answer. It's an attempt to allow the series to continually get new kids interested. By doing this they eliminate any barrier to entry. It doesn't make for a good show.
In the Black 2 and White 2 anime, I think there is a new protagonist. Not confirmed, but I saw a commercial for it in the Pokemon Center in Tokyo. Or it might have been for the movie. Anyways, I agree with Duck and Insom.
technically he wouldn't really be like twenty he should be like 15 by now since there is like around a year between each adventure and there have been five major seasons
think of it... does anybody age in a cartoon/anime?
yes plenty

Yeah, they do. Examples, Metal Fury-Zero-G, Digimon Adventure-02. Plenty anime people age.

Cartoons, on the other hand.

In the beginning of Adventure Time Finn was like 11 and now he's 13.

I've already stated why Ash is 10, but there is really no point on further discussion. If Ash is 10 his 10, all that matters is that we have fun watching the anime. I really don't care what age Ash is, I suck at the video games but the manga and anime is very interesting and I watched at a really young age.
