Yes, there are probably a hand full of yous who'll think and probably say, this guy's been watching too much Air Gear... (or at least in the first arc or 2 when parts war still meant participants actually put parts on the line as opposed to just emblemss...)

But, lol, beyblade is one of the many activity where it's actually possible!

But I imagine that it'd be quite one sided, in the way that people with top tier blades would always win, and the same bunch would probably not be looking for anything else that the people losing to them have to offer...

But it was just an idea which jumped into my mind a few times. Although i haven't seen much talk or practice of trading parts on this forum or in fact when i was at one of the events... surely trading is encourage-able when both parties are willing...
I don't think the losers would be too happy about this!
I never really thought about that actually.....I mean, not the whole 'parts war' thing, the fact that no-one really trades much and such, regarding the event you went to and others. I remember it happened all the time when I was younger.....but then I think a lot of those trades were unfair. >_> I wonder if it will come back when more people have more MFB. :X
: I realised as much when making the topic, but i still thought it was an interesting idea worthy of a mention. I also doubt that many people would put any useful parts on the line...

i guess trading really boils down to when someone has too many of one part that someone else desperately wants, so fair or unfair with regards to usefulness of the parts themselves would be dulled down. However, as they're starting to bring out more and more unique/hard to get parts like C145 or RF i expect trading to be an even rarer occurance from now on...
its never an unfair trade if both people get what they want. and the parts can only be valued by how much the other person wants it. If the person wants it but doesnt really need it, they wont be willing to give a good part for it. Or if it was a part they really needed, they would try to pursuade the other person to what they think is a good deal.
If you see some kid has a load of beyblades, you look over them with an uninterested look, tell him they're not amazing but if you like you'll trade him that old Bearing Stinger, maybe the Eight Spiker too for your super awesome Metal Sting because it has a spiky metal tip and will defeat everyone and he believes that.....I'd say that's pretty unfair.

maybe it will help them get better

How exactly would it help them get better if they're losing parts?

well you got a point like it will give them a reason to practice more so they wont lose
maybe mentally (wanting to win so more time allocated to practice) , but realistically, even once they've learned to do things perfectly, if they fight against the strongest combo's with a less effective one, they'd probably still lose unless their opponent is a complete novice

How...? I don't know anybody who would think like that...
i believe its a gambling mindset, but one would have had to be brave enough to try it before that would kick in... not to mention they need to have at least won once or twice to get them addicted...

I don't think any novice would willingly participate in this.

Honestly, this reminds me of the villians from the Beyblade series.
haha, i guess the face hunters do forcefully steal points... but surely real people are a bit more civilised... also if ever parts war should occur, battles and parts wagered would have to be agreed on by both members involved, theres no way people can just put in whatever they want regardless to how the other person feels...
Well I mean, there is such a thing as pressure.
So, If you lose the round you lose the blade basically? it wasnt all that clear

no regular rules like best 2 out of 3 who loses the match you lose the parts

Read the WBO rules, it's First to 3 Wins.

Anyway, this is a bad idea for so many reasons. Nobody would ever want to use a decent blade. I wouldn't be happy about losing Quetzalcoatl 90RF due to a misshot or something.
true but unlike in the anime... people mostly meet up in small (compared to whats in the anime) organised events where everyone would become friend with everyone else...it'd be easy to find someone at a certain event if they did something bad... and if people meet up outside, it'd be friends...

EDIT: i was thinking more on the lines of not necessarily putting what you are using on the line, since diff people prefer using diff combos, eg, everyone talks about Storm/quetz 90RF but i seem to be looking for possibilities in defense and stamina combos. (if i may make reference to air gear, where i got this idea, if buccha gave ikki the ATs he's been using, ikki wouldn't have been able to use them...)
I don't think I'd be friends with anyone who took my Quetzalcoatl.

You should just play for BP instead.

then dont use that blade or dont agree to parts war simple
I'm just going to close this. Don't gamble your parts, you won't be happy when you lose (and you will eventually lose).
