Nevermind I'm dumb (Click to View)
I imagine this idea has been tossed around before, but I want to bring it up again (or for the first time if that's the case): there should be a thread where users can ask where something belongs before they post it. Ideally this would result in less posts in the wrong place and more organization overall by containing these sort of questions to one thread.
Ideally, yes, every user should have read the rules and would have a general idea of where to post things, but realistically we all know that just isn't true (especially with a userbase this young). Furthermore, this community is very (appropriately) strict about what belongs where, to the point where I think it might be intimidating for a user with good intentions who wants to post new material. These two problems would be curtailed somewhat by the creation of a thread like this.
I understand there would be flaws with the system, namely the potential for a lot of junk and/or redundant posts to accumulate in a thread like this. However, I think it would be beneficial overall for those of us who just want to follow the rules.
