Hello other WBO members. An idea has occurred between the admins/mods of WBO and myself, of a new kind of tournament. A beyblade videogame-based tournament. We are kind of in a lock on an agreement, which is what this poll is for. Please simply answer the poll, and leave ONLY POSITIVE REPLIES. Please PM me if you have questions. The types of beyblade games and the types of systems are all open. Even the plastic games are aloud if requested. As long as the game and system has multiplayer connection or controllers, it is valid. Custimized beyblades in video games are acceptional, but that would be in another battle category. These tournaments will be meets. Plug-in systems will be provided, or you can bring if there aren't enough, or if you want to help. Portable systems must come with you.

CATEGORIES: Original Bey Digi-Battles; Custom Bey Digi-Battles

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A CONFIRMATION OF DIGITAL TOURNAMENTS STARTING. THIS IS A POLL TO SEE WHAT THE WBO PUBLIC THINKS AND WANTS BEFORE THERE IS ANY AGREEMENT TO ITS USE.

Eh, its a cool idea. But don't people have those on BeybladeBattles.com? How would you even do this anyways?
Those are online tournaments by Hasbro, these are WBO tournaments. And it would be set up like other gamer tournaments.
Sounds like a great idea!

Now, get to building a game that isn't a terrible poor flash game like beybladebattles.com is.

You can't even compare a game to the actual sport, it's just... Dumb.
That would be cool, I would be happy to see into the create an official WBO game. Mainly to make up for all the trouble I have caused here
Just to be clear, it will not be WBO sanctioned. This is just for fun.
Yes, since it would be a whole bunch of screens and systems, the administration will only allow this as a fun tournament. I will give rewards to the winners if the idea is passed as valid, but that would be coming from me. WBO would not be supplying anything unless they wish to sell real beyblade stuff at the tournaments. If the idea of Digital Tournaments is passed, it will be a tournament idea for all members to host, not just me, but you'd have to ask for confirmation to hold a Digital Tournament each time from me and/or someone from the Administration.
So what, you take the few Nintendo DS Beyblade games, hope enough people own them, and do multiplayer matches with them ?
They would be organized like other tournaments. There would be a list of confirmed people and people on the Maybe-List, and people send PMs if they wish to be confirmed into participating. Since this is video game-based, and will not count for credits or beypoints, the charge is less, and passports are not required unless the WBO Administration says, since passports are made by the WBO. And there aren't just beyblade games for DS. If he wants, Mercury.Anubis could supply games for xbox, PSP, etc, since he has no use for them.
Its a nice idea and i'm going to make a blog post on my blog about this!
I'm also interested in how this would work? Would it be like a Beyblade battle in the anime where you can control your bey where to go and what to do? Where you actually have a real stadium from the show on your tv screen and you can see the tops battling and the audience cheering. Would you be able to control your Beyblade with analog sticks? Its very interested and how much would it be and for what gaming devices? (Ps3 for sure!)
Well, the last question is completely simple, and stated in the first post. Any system, portable and plug-in, that can be used with a beyblade game is valid. I would charge $3 at most for participation, but the first tournament I will hold will be free entry to all. As for the other questions, those all depend on how the game presented for a tournament is made for which system. I have Metal Masters for DS, which is the system I would make a tournament for if I wanted to participate, or host a tournament on a system I am firmiliar on Beyblade with. The first tournament that I, or even someone of WBO if they want, will hold if the idea passes, will be a free-for-all, meaning all system competitions will be available.
Where will you be holding this tournament. The only thing I'm good at is video games.
Location details will be decided when the choice of whether Digital Tournaments will be aloud or not. But, if I were to choose, I would try to host one either in a Gamestop, or some place to rent space for tournaments.
I have Metal Masters for DS as well. If these tourneys are allowed, and there's one in my state, I'll be sure to practice!
sadly, i would like to participate but i dont have a ds. is there anything else we can do?

however i have a wii, would that do?
It is not just for DS. As it says in the first post, and poll, any system, portable and plug-in, that can be used with any beyblade game, Plastics and/or MBF, are valid for tournaments.
Just saying, people aren't going to pay money to play in an online tournament.Just my opinion Uncertain
And as I said before, it is NOT an online tournament.

We will not ever hold video game tournaments for any fee whatsoever, or with any serious relation to the actual tournaments run by this organization.

If you host these, they will not have anything to do with the WBO at all outside of you recruiting members for it from here, and you will receive zero financial support from the WBO.

This Organization is about the actual hobby with the actual physical objects, to and for which the video games are completely unrelated in every way but name and theme. They are not comparable, the games are not competitive, and are not even particularly enjoyable games.
Hazel, it is/was already pointed out in the thread and to the other admins/mods that this could be discussed and broadcasted on WBO if the poll voted most YES, which is in progress. It is also stated that organizing of tournaments with the video games are to be associated with me, since I would be starting this within WBO. As far as I'm concerned, you're trying to bum everyone who actually wants this out, creating a bad name for yourself and the WBO Administration. If you have any problems with this new idea of tournaments, then PM me, please dont post it on my thread. Thank you
This is sounding like nagging now, but perhaps one of the major reasons why parents let kids come to Beyblade tournaments is the physical, simple fun it brings. The fact that the child isn't glued to the screen 24/7 is one of Beyblade's greatest assets. This type of tournament takes away from that idea, and I know my parents at least wouldn't bring me to something like this.

That's also not the best way to speak to a Committee member, though both Hazel and you make valid points.
I wouldnt say your theory about normal tournaments is impossible, but it is a bit unlikely with most bladers, because most of them are given permission because they're fans and bladers. And, Digital Tournaments wont replace normal tournaments. They will be an optional other type of tournaments. Bladers can choose between doing some original tournaments, Digital Tournaments, and/or both.
They will not be optional tournaments under the WBO banner any more than the Mario Kart tournaments or Super Smash tournaments other users host are. The outcome of the poll in this thread, and you making such a fuss in general, is entirely inconsequential.

You telling me not to post in your thread and insulting me directly over making a stand to inform you of the reality of the situation, however, will have consequences.
Since the idea involves gathering anyway, I would start by following our path first, which is trying to gather people in an area to have a Beyblade tournament. Most locations are unable to achieve this, so there is no point in continuing further even if some Members like the idea.
