Urban Terror is a shooter game for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Players on these three operating systems can play with one another.

It's not like those simulation/realistic shooters, as it is based on fun more than reality. (such as walljumps!?)

You can choose from a selection of primary weapons, (includes a grenade launcher, assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, submachine guns) and choose your secondary (submachine guns or shotgun), then finally your sidearm (Beretta and Desert Eagle).

After selecting what guns you want, you can select equipment that suits your style. These can include gun silencers, laser sights, extra ammo, kevlar vest/helmet (protects chest/head respectively), etc.

Grenades are in two categories (Smoke, fragmentation) and you can only equip one type.

Things like crosshair shape, crosshair color, tac-light (night vision esque) color, etc can be changed too. For those that are grossed out by blood and stuff, you can turn that off too.

If you want to change your setup in game, you can do so.

If there is enough interest/players from WBO, maybe I can host a server at the best time when the most players can play. Smile

Graphics aren't the best, but that doesn't make it any less fun to play (well in my opinion lol).
what are the minimum specs?
(Jun. 25, 2009  8:17 PM)SK Wrote: [ -> ]what are the minimum specs?

Quote:CPU: Pentium III 500MHz/Duron 600MHz

RAM: 128MBs (256MBs highly recommended on win2k and above)

VID: Geforce class card with 32megs of ram (64MB or more highly recommended)

HDD: 736 MBs

From UT 3.5's specs (current version is 4.1). The HD space is updated though, I just looked at the UT folder on my own computer.
heh, my comp can play it lol
i'm downloading now
i'm gonna suck though since my soundcard is broken lol
is it buggy or glitchy?
i remember playing a game called warrock I think? and it was horrible despite being free because the shooting mechanics blew and were way off
Not that I have experienced. It's based off of Quake III; it is basically a huge mod to make it seem more realistic (guns etc).

Sustained full automatic fire greatly reduces accuracy, and you can tell because the reticle spreads out (like in Ghost Recon, for example). So it has a sense of realism, but it's not super stealthy hardcore stuff lol
Hey seems cool to me. esp. multiplatform. Im no expert but it looks a bit more pleasant then CS
I msg you when I get it bt Smile
Looks neat. I might give it a shot and see how it works on my laptop.
i'm about to install now, anyone wanna play?
Played this for a bit a couple days ago. First time I ever played a game on my Mac lol
Ill definitely check this out soon.
i'm downloading at the moment

We should. Smile

I'll have to fix what's wrong with my network to host, but I can definitely join games.

I might be getting another computer soon (someone is giving ours back), so if I can, I might make it into a WBO semi-dedi server (and maybe a TeamSpeak server for us too?).
Sounds like enough people are interested to get some sort of WBO match or whatever set up. I've got a lot of free time now. Whenever you guys are free is likely going to be fine for me.
so I tried it and lol
i suck so bad.
try not to land with me on your team Smile

we should get something established soon so that people (like me) don't loose interest.

Unhappy

lol i did as well but kept playing. i got ridiculously high negative k/d ratios, but now i have positive k/d ratios in most of my games.

one thing that can help you in this game is the weapon/equipment setup. i myself choose a primary (mainly SR-8 or G36), NO secondary (meaning no shotgun/SMG upon spawn), a Desert Eagle, NO grenades, and 3 items (i choose extra ammo when using a sniper, and then i havea kevlar helmet and vest on).

while you don't start off with a secondary/grenades upon spawning, running over them in-game will put it in your inventory. that way, you can have more helpful items such as the Kevlar stuff and extra ammo (doubles standard ammunition upon spawn). i don't use grenades/secondaries all that much so that's why my set up is this way.

------

What time are you and everyone else available? I can usually play like anytime until around 11 PM EST.

Shoot me a PM for IM contact info, so we can all set up a conference and join the same server (WBO-dedi is not setup as of now)
I downloaded the file yesterday. Loading the game tonight. Prolly play a round or two as well. Smile

I go by Leviathan, but I'll probably switch to bugturtles for the ones who play here lol

I'm usually found in the Paladin Team Deathmatch, **1up Team Deathmatch ([UAA] or the other one), or the CC Clan #1 Japan Team Deathmatch servers

best bet is to contact me on MSN or something though lol
Did you ever get that WBO Server up and running?
