You came.

I hate to jump on the bandwagon and be a jerk here, but seriously Red Eyes Zombie, you asked a question to which multiple answers were provided and yet still kept repeating the question.

I perfectly understand if you aren't familiar with the more technical aspects of Yu-Gi-Oh, because we've all been there before -- none of us were amazing at this game when we first started playing either. I also understand that the only real way to learn is to ask questions and participate in a discussion, but you're going about it the wrong way man.

Do some research on the subject. If you still aren't sure or still don't understand the concept of Spell Speeds in Yu-Gi-Oh, then start asking around for clarification. We've explained it as best as we could here for you, but just to make things crystal clear:

There are 3 spell speeds. Normal spells (Like Monster Reborn) are Spell Speed 1. Quick play spells (Like Book of Moon) and regular traps (Like Bottomless Trap Hole) are spell speed 2. Counter trap cards (Like Solemn Judgment) are spell speed 3, and are essentially the "fastest" cards in the game -- nothing can be chained or activated in response to a counter trap besides another counter trap. It's really as simple as that. If you need more clarification or have other questions, you should check this out, it explains things pretty well: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Spell_Speed

Also guys, I realize that it's frustrating to deal with situations like this, and I know that I'm guilty of it myself in this very thread, but as a community we should really be trying harder to not only point out when someone is wrong, but to explain why in a more friendly manner than has been shown in this thread. No one benefits from insults and name calling.
i run lightsworn deck its very consistent and works really well
I traded off my Ultra Rare MRD Solemn Judgment back in 4th grade for some jank holo that I can't even recall. Of course I've had a Rare one ever since I started playing competitively, but dude, I could have had an MRD Solemn (that quite possibly could have been 1/e). My perception of this game has really changed throughout the years.

It's really useful to note that Spell Speed 2 cards cannot be used the turn that they are set. Normal Spells, however, can be used. Actually, I guess it's only useful if you play Infernity or Empty Jar.

I've done this several times on non-empty jar decks... but then again I was usually doing it to get things in the graveyard. I was actually quite shocked when I figured it out, I happened upon in when I picked up YuGiOh again and was playing Stardust Accelerator.

Running a machina deck at the moment.

Read around the yugi forums people are winning games and locals using just 3 of the machina structure deck slapped together, so you don't have to worry about those cards atm.

Haha, don't worry, my deck IS 3 machina structure decks slapped together. Wink
I absolutely loathe that deck.

It's way too powerful to be that cheap to make, not to mention a trained monkey could play the deck.

I hate to sound like one of those arrogant dbags, but seriously being that cheap and taking no skill whatsoever to play just screams "NOOB DECK" to me.

How else do you think Konami is supposed to get new blood? A cheap OP deck is the best way to lure new players.

Yes, that is actually me. lmao
^ That my friend, is epicness.
Out of curiosity, what card was that?

Also, I just recently re-started yugioh after like maybe 2 years of not playing, and I never thought about playing competitvely, so I had really nowhere to start.
It's a crappy Mist Valley Shaman. lol
lol, good stuff Ryan

I don't hate Machina that much, even though I've lost to it 2-0 both times I've faced it. Sure it's easy to gain advantage through floaters (Gearframe and Gadgets) and 1for1 removal. It's an easy deck to play, but then again, there are several decks in this game that are easy to play. The game is a lot more affordable now too, and the way I see it, cheaper competitive decks mean more players interested in competitive play. I only paid around $60 for my GB deck minus Mirror Force and a few staples.

Sadly (or not), I knew that at first glance.

Also, totally should have been "d-d-d-d-d-duel!"

That's not that surprising. Machina is a really bad match up for GBs. I always had trouble against that deck when I played it with my own GB deck. It basically comes down to stripping them of their Fortress plays via Bottomless/Retiari, and praying to God that you open with at least one Chariot in game 1. After that you side like mad (These days I would probably side in 3 Cyber Dragon or 3 D-Fissure [can't do both lol] and maybe even a Crevice or a couple of D-Prison) and do everything you can to get rid of Fortress. Chimeratech Fortress Dragon is a TERRIBLE thing for a Machina player to be staring down, especially if you've sacked off a few of their creatures to bring it out. Unfortunately they can still just crash their Fortress into your Fortress Dragon and use its effect to destroy CFD and then discard to bring it right back from the graveyard, which is a VERY common play, so removal is really key. Without Fortress they really can't do anything unless they get Solidarity out on you, and that's easy to work around via Bestiari/Gyzarus.

I've also found that Catastor tends to carp on their parade, but when you're using GBs that's more or less impossible to bring out. lol

I wanted to do the stutter thing with it but I was WAY too lazy to take that many individual pictures/loop a few of them to do it. lol
Yeah, I find Machina and Gemini City to be my hardest match ups. I've heard from some Pojo-ers that Machina is easy when you are able to get out Heraklinos in Defense mode, since they will have no way to get rid of it. Gemini City is a similar story, since they get easy advantage off of Hero Blast and Spark, but their beaters bring an even harder problem.
Recently i've been thinking about using Snowman Eater main decked for machina it looks like it could work quite well in theory.
I can't wait 'til the Duelist Revolution Special Edition packs come out next tuesday so I can pick up a couple Gold Sarcs, and maybe even another Pot of Duality :o
Yeah, and if you need mirror force, they're finally releasing an English edition of the Marik structure deck.

...it has common mirror force as standard Tongue_out

As i already stated earlier in this thread.
Just saying for any toronto, or markham area players, a card shop called "pacific gifts" is already selling the special edition duelist revolution.

Meh, it's cool. Everywhere else is gonna be sellin' em tomorrow anyways. Heading down to 401 to pick mine up. Hopefully I'll pull all Gold Sarcs and no Drill Warriors... though it'd be alright I guess if I did pull some.
