Synchro Monsters aren't included in your Main Deck when you list them. It should be in your Extra Deck. Also, you've included way too many archetypes. Fortune Ladies, Reptilianne, Majestic, Earthbound Immortals... you definitely need to focus on just one archetype if you want your deck to have any consistency and any chance of winning against competitive decks.

Apart from how long it has taken for Mirror Force to get reprinted, Ryan is definitely right. Reprints allow for more players to be able to get those competitive cards that are usually initially printed in a high rarity, which results in a larger amount of people who will want to keep/start playing the game.

True, but it's been reprinted multiple times between its original printing and now.

I guess I won't be able to go to locals today... I guess I'll go tomorrow.

I've been thinking about what to run next format. I think I'm going to start out with a Prisma build of GB with triple Trap Stuns and no Cold Wave, since many are predicting this format to be a Trap-heavy format.

I've changed my mind. I'm going to miss Heavy Storm.

I still don't think it deserved to be banned. A lot of people stopped playing it altogether after Starlight Road came out, and even the ones that kept using it were forced to play it smarter due to the existence and widespread use of SLR.

Cold Wave needed to get banned, not Heavy Storm.
got a new deck zombie deck and machine deck it was quite good

The -> means fusion / special summon from the card(s) before.

Monster Cards:
- Blue Eyes White Dragon
- Blue Eyes White Dragon
- Blue Eyes White Dragon
---> Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon
- Red Eyes Black Chick
-> Red Eyes Black Dragon
-> Red Eyes Black Dragon
---> Red Eyes Dark Dragon ( my favorite card )
- Cyber Dragon
- Cyber Phoenix
---> Chimeratech Overdragon
- Armed Dragon LV 3
-> Armed Dragon LV5
- Lord Of Dragons
- Koumori Dragon
- Luster Dragon
- Thunder Dragon
- Masked Dragon
- Twin-Headed Behemoth
- Element Dragon
- Swordstalker
- Suijin
- Judge Man
- The All-Seeing White Tiger
- Trap Master

I just picked up yu-gi-oh again after maybe 2-3 years, however I think that you have way too many monsters that require sacrifices. And most of these monsters are bad. =/

Un-needed:Judge man,suijin,Thunder dragon,Swordstalker,cyber dragon (Kinda)

Way too many: X3 blue eyes, x2 red eyes.
So I've been considering getting a sort of YGO community started up. The only thing is that if I do decide to do it I'd like to do something a little... Different.

It's one thing to make a message board (which I will most likely do to coincide with the community), but I want to do something more than that. I want to start a community with some more serious, technical discussion on cards and decks, their impact on the meta and the game overall, etc. I was really just wondering if any of you would be interested in something like that?

I'm thankful we have this thread here on this board, but to be perfectly honest 95% of the posts in this thread are exactly the kind I want to avoid. That is, mindless deck lists.

ANYWAY, if you'd be interested in something like that, let me know here. If I can drum up enough interest I might actually go through with it.
So like the WBO, but for Yu-Gi-Oh?

I think that'd be neat.

Something like that, yeah.

I would like to see you do well with this but the majority of yu gi oh players suffer from elite jerkism.

That and the games all about having the upperhand and being sneaky. Most competative players wont give out their decklist or chat to other people telling them of those secret tech cards their running just incase they play them later on.

A good example is in Glad meta. It took a few sjc but eventualy somebody stumbled uppon jowls of dark demise. That 1 card changed glad mirror match side decking. I was one of the first in my area to start siding that and the players who didnt know about it got the shock of their life. Later on I saw them running around like crazy trying to get themJoyful_2.

Thing is most people want to keep a good thing to themselves just to have that edge over their not so clued up opponent.

if your loking to start id reccomend reading this guys site

Yeah I can definitely see where you're coming from. I've been to enough high-level events to know that most top players, or those who consider themselves good, are real jerks.

Well, my aim with the project wouldn't so much be to "clue in" people to "sacred tech" and expose pro secrets, it would be more of an educational thing to raise awareness about under appreciated cards, decks and strategies. I might also do some articles on proper techniques, when to activate certain things, etc.

The link you provided is pretty damn close to what I had in mind, but I'd like to take it in a more community-based direction, where everything is presented in a sort of public forum where users can contribute and really be a part of the discussion. I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do it yet, but I do know that I want it to be more than just a site with articles and a comments section.
The idea is there, but the thing that I find difficult (not that I do these sort of things) is being able to publicize and develop a large user base. I hate elitism, especially on major Yugioh sites such as Pojo and TCGPlayer. Even if a large user base can be formed, there are still trolls and elitists to deal with. That being said, I am definitely interested in this idea.
Took my plant deck to a local tourney, and got some great trades in. I was pleasantly surprised on how I did, because, although I went 1 and 3, every duel was down to just a few points, and I was up against the likes of QuickDraw Plants, TeleDad, Assault Mode and Total control.

that sept. 1 banlist tho :3
BLACK ROSE AT THREE! Carp yeah.
Locals today sucked. There isn't a real tournament on Sundays, and at one point I played this extremely cocky X-Saber player. His attitude basically ruined the rest of the day for me.

So game 1 he opens up with Fulhelmknight and a face-down since he went first. Next turn I MST and decide to go into Murmillo with a Test Tiger play since I didn't want to deal with the chance of him Synchro Summoning. I then set CED and some random card. On his turn, he summons Airbellum and activates Saber Slash. Here is where he went all pissy-pissy. I wanted to CED my Laquari, which should force him to destroy his Airbellum, right? I know this is the case, since I played at a WCQ public event where a judge ruled that that is what happens. However, he argues that Saber Slash targets at activation and all of this random carp. My friend backs me up, and when he ends and I start my turn, he scoops, saying that he doesn't want to put up with this GB carp and he'll end it in the next two games.

He starts game 2 with just a Boggart Knight and a set card. In his carelessness and rage (lol), I saw that the face-down was Dust Tornado. I sided in a lone Cyber Dragon, and happened to draw it. I summon that and a GB and attack with both, then tag into Bestiari and set a card during my MP2. He says something along the lines of "I'll rape you next turn." He goes Summoner Monk into Cat and tributes it for 2 Airbellum after using Giant Trunade. He then drops Faultroll, Synchro Summons into Arcanite, blows up my field and attacks with 2 Airbellums and a Faultroll, discarding a Test Tiger and Cat from my hand. He questions whether or not he should go into Gottoms, and decides not to for some odd reason. Next turn I bring out Laquari to attack into an Airbellum and get Darius to fuse into Gyzarus. I set 2, and next turn when he summons a monster I pause to consider whether or not to TT the field (at which point he would be top-decking), and he just decides to scoop. He says that he'll destroy me with Infernity, and I just refuse to play him.

I hate dealing with players with bad attitudes. Also, why do people hate playing against Gladiator Beasts? Sure they've been around for a long, long time, and turns take a little bit longer when GBs tag out, but that doesn't mean that it requires less skill to play than some luck-sack, stupidly broken deck like X-Sabers. In fact, GB is by far one of the hardest decks to play correctly...
(Aug. 23, 2010  1:16 AM)Elmo Wrote: [ -> ]*snip*

Wow, that dude sounds lame. I agree about GB's being difficult to play. I ran a GB deck for a while and I had to give it up. I just kept misplaying.
I'm not sure how well I expressed all of that in words, but the thing that irked me the most was how he was so insistent on winning, yet he did not know the correct rulings for a card that he runs in his deck. He acts as if Yugioh is "srs bsns," and yet he doesn't fully understand the mechanics of his deck.

~1 week until super DAD comes out. Woooo fun times.

Yeeeeeah! I'm actually looking foward to it though. Maybe I'll finish my Hopeless Dragon deck.
I've been playing GBs competitively for this entire format, and for most of the format before that, and I'm still learning new things about the deck. I think GBs are one of (if not the most) difficult decks to learn to play correctly, simply because you are almost always presented with a multitude of options. The deck provides, hands down, THE BEST toolbox engine in the entire game, so knowing what to go for and in what situation and executing properly and, more importantly, on the fly while you're playing, is crucial. It takes a lot of practice and experience to play a GB deck to it's full potential.

It's definitely my favorite deck type. It's just so versatile, and there are so many different and interesting builds. In the time that I've been playing GBs I have literally played at least 10 different builds.

Straight GBs, Respite GBs, Eatos GBs, Fissure GBs, Ancient Forest GBs, Burden GBs, Prisma GBs, Honest GBs, Trap GBs, Cat GBs, etc. etc. -- I've played them all.
Here's my current GB build:

Monsters: 18
1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
2x Gladiator Beast Laquari
2x Gladiator Beast Equeste
2x Gladiator Beast Samnite
1x Gladiator Beast Hoplomus
1x Gladiator Beast Retiari
1x Gladiator Beast Bestiari
1x Gladiator Beast Darius
1x Gladiator Beast Secutor
1x Gladiator Beast Murmillo
1x Elemental Hero Prisma
3x Test Tiger
1x Rescue Cat

Spells: 6
3x Book of Moon
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Heavy Storm
1x Giant Trunade

Traps: 16
3x Dust Tornado
2x Gladiator Beast War Chariot
2x Compulsory Evacuation Device
2x Dimensional Prison
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Solemn Judgment
1x Starlight Road
1x Trap Dustshoot

Extra Deck:
3x Gladiator Beast Gyzarus
2x Gladiator Beast Heraklinos
1x Stardust Dragon
9x (filler Synchros that I never use)

Side Deck:
2x Dimensional Fissure
2x Consecrated Light
2x Pole Position
2x Cyber Dragon
2x Smashing Ground
2x Crevice Into the Different Dimension
2x Enemy Controller
1x Brain Control

Here are the changes that I'm going to make to test for the new format:
-1 Gorz
-1 Equeste
-2 Samnite
-1 Rescue Cat
-1 Heavy Storm
-1 Giant Trunade
-3 Dust Tornado

+1 Monster Reborn
+1 RotA
+1 Darius
+1 Prisma
+1 Stratos
+1 MST
+1 Cold Wave
+3 Trap Stun

-1 Brain Control
+1 Cyber Dragon (I still need Chimeratech Fortress...)

Waboku might not be so bad this format, and I might consider maining E.Con if everyone starts maining Trap Stun.
Someone at Konami loves me, I'm convinced of this. They're letting me pack 3 BRDS ;3
I don't see why everyone is so excited about Black Rose Dragon coming back.

Almost everyone already mains Starlight Road, and the majority of people I've been talking to are planning on playing My Body as a Shield again.

Black Rose means nothing to me, honestly. I'm not afraid of it.
