Well, this kind of surprised me. Checked Serebii and I was thinking the new game was Gray, but nope. I like how they fused Zekrom and Reshiram with Kyurem; nice little touch.
Thank God it's for the DS and not the 3DS, haha.
Disgust is all that fills me.
I really, really disliked Black and White as games - the Pokémon designs were okay, but everything about Unova is horrible and the actual games left a really bad taste in my mouth - either from being too slow, or just trying to do too much that meant nothing.
This is the first Pokémon game release information I have been nothing but upset to hear.
This will be the first sequel in Pokemon right? Ruby/Sapphire -> Emerald isn't really considered a sequel either, nor is Diamond/Pearl -> Platinum, SS and HG were remakes and Red/Blue/ -> Crystal/Gold aren't sequels either.
Edit: Ranger, Rumble, and XD were spin-offs.

Yes, it's confirmed. It was shown on Pokemon Smash in Japan.
I think it would be kind of cool if they showed more of N after you beat him in B/W...

No, those are sequels. The storyline of Blue/Red continues in Gold/Silver.

They look cool to me! I really like those actually. I loved Black and White a lot, so I'm excited to hear more news!

i fount black and white to be m.y 2nd favorite pokemon game out of the series(first being johto) but after seeing this im confused.What is next pokemon fusions?this is a fan hakers best dream.truely i was expecting pokemon grey before we actually get a direct squel to a major pokemon game(not counting stadium).although i can't say im not excited.But really?ruby and sapphire remakes?I dont see the point as i find emerald a remake of them already.although knowing game freak

Why would they do that now? They remake the games for their 10th anniversaries. Ruby and Sapphire don't even turn 10 until 2013....
Also, making games for the regular DS is much cheaper than for 3DS
Well to add on to the confirmation...
The official US site has revealed their preview "trailer" of Pokemon Black and White 2. There aren't any logos and no release date info but if this thing was seriously revealed on the same day as Japan, which will be getting it in June, you can expect a release date around that time.
Weird, usually Mainstream Pokemon Games in the US come out a year or about 6-8 months after the Japanese versions.
Announcements of localizations for Pokemon games usually happen relatively soon after the games themselves are announced. I'd expect a fall release date for the west, which is a lot sooner than usual but not day and date with Japan.

It's also weird that it's finally being announced 3 MONTHS before it's release.
The whole thing just seems out of the ordinary, I hope Game Freak has been working hard on this game, I don't want it to be some rushed product.
To calm everyone down Please let me explain something The pokemon that you see before you is a mix of Reshiram/Zekrom + Kyurem Now in the games it was said Reshiram and Zekrom were once one in the same but split apart and kyurem is what was left after the two split. This would mean that this is somewhat of a continuation of that "legend" We know nothing besides the mascots its 2010 all over again. I said it once ill say it again who are we to judge these pokemon who knows if black and white can blow my sock off im sure that this game will do the same too.
Use periods at the end of your sentences dude. Nobody likes a run on sentence.
Also, it's pretty obvious that what we see is a mix of Kyurem and Reshiram/Zekrom..
As for the release date, I can't say I'm surprised.
They were probably already working on 2 before they were even done with 1. In the past it's always been, essentially copy/paste what you have, and edit it a bit, add some more content, and bam, continuation of the game. Not surprising.
For DS? Meh. I'd prefer 3DS, but right now the current games aren't ready to evolve into 3D. I mean, what could the really do? The pixelization on the games is still quite raw, and that wouldn't look very good in 3D. It cots less to develop a standard game as well. Game Freak could also be afraid of stepping onto the 3DS train, as even though it's doing very well, there's still a chance it won't end well. Another theory is that they're saving Gen VI for the 3DS, a total revamp of the game.
Really interesting Pokemon though.. With a mix of the two, could it be possible that they make a Triple Type? I doubt it, but that would be kind of cool!
Will probably get it because I need more games for my DS.

I completely agree with this post. In my mind, Black and White was overkill. For me, this is overkill the sequel
I admire the bad@$$ designs the legendarys have in this game, but the rest of the pokemon art is rather uninspired and odd for my tatses. If gamefreak would just make a pokemon game combining the in-game features of all of thier games (time system, night-day, improved graphics, etc) but with an old region (imo, Kanto, Jhoto, or Hoen,) they would have a perfect game.

It's happened the same month as the announcement in the past IIRC. Maybe they just want to squash fears that it wouldn't come over (who would think this?) since Pokemon + Nobunga's Ambition, Pokemon Typing, and the DS TCG Training Aid haven't been localized.
