xD my other shoes do not serve to protect my feet from many many km of walking daily. It's such a pity.

No, they're comfortable. However, they are initially uncomfortable. You need to get your foot used to the shape. Make sure to invest as well as you can; real leather, wood heel, try to get one with a decent sized heel -- don't go below an inch -- and just pick one you like. Also, always use gel insoles to increase the comfort level. I got mine from a brand called Impulse for $100, and I love them.
