Instead of creating new topics everytime someone plans to propose a tournament, only one thread should be used all the time. It is not normal to make a new topic for a tournament unless it is done in the Event Proposals forum or that it is approved. If neither of those cases apply, no new thread should be done.

All future tournament plans for Toronto should be posted in this topic.

I should be able to update both the title of this thread and this opening post whenever someone posts here that they want to hold a new event on some date. You will all just have to reply here to say that you are interested in coming, or that your attendance is a possibility at the moment, etc.

Keep Toronto the driving force!
I'm planning to make a just for fun event on the weekend of February 16, since it's a 5 day long weekend for me, I don't know if it applies to anyone else.

But where is the your Fun Event
what are we gonna do?
:High Park most likely
: A free tournament, basically to have fun
Unofficial tournaments may not be discussed here...
Since winter is approaching, it might be a good idea for us to finally find an indoor venue. Does anybody have any ideas for where we could go?
The only location I can think of right now is a hotel... I mean I was originally going to go with Dufferin Mall, but then I thought about all the people there Uncertain
Hm, maybe we can set-up something with Toys R Us? We'll be using their store, but customers will start buying more beyblades from Toys R Us to play in our tournaments, we get extra members for the Toronto community and everybody is happy.

(Or at least, that's what would make sense. But seeing how Hasbro refuses to partner up with the WBO in anyway would say otherwise)
Usually all Toys "R" Us will tell us that they have an exclusive partnership with Hasbro and that they cannot allow any other Beyblade tournaments inside their property.
For indoor venues or somewhere away from the cold, the best bet would be either someones house (yeah I knowPinching_eyes_2) or maybe a community center; since those places usually have extra rooms aside from the library that can be used/rented.

Why not try and work out a deal with a local card shop/Game Shop. That's what we did in North Carolina.
If you were willing to travel slightly, I am certain that Toys on Fire in Ottawa would be glad to welcome you. Apparently they hold a few Beyblade tournaments regularly.

Yeah I bet if I ask them this Sunday(since they're having a tournament)they'll probably say yes and I'm friends with the guy who runs them.Only kids 13 and younger can participate.

Are you certain ? They seemed quite friendly with us, knowing that our tournaments are open to everybody too ... Can you ask him if our events could have no age limits ?

I'll ask Sunday but there will be a store fee because when they hold beyblade tournaments they charge $5 to enter.Anyways I'll ask the guy who runs them for no age limit. But I'm not certain that they'll let us hold a tournament but I'll try to conveince him.
When Brad spoke to them one or two years ago, they seemed to really be friendly to that idea ...
Im coming to toronto on december 24-28
Might come to a tourney
I made two event perposials i'm trying to find a new venue though.
I asked the guy who runs the TOF beyblade tournaments and he said it was a good idea but it's just the publicity because if he advertises it then he'll get 50 people which will crowd the store. And the proper stadiums like BB-10s,BBG-04s,11s,18s.(They have 1 BB-10 and I have 1 BB-10 so we cn host a MFB Format Tournament)
I guess I would plan a tournament at my house.
The only place i can think of is a store but i have to talk to some one before doing that.
