Hi there, WBO! I searched the site and couldn't find a thread for this, and I figure since it's getting to be a big thing, it deserves one.

As many of you know, Hasbro has released an Extreme Top System (XTS), a system XTS Beyblades are very different from normal customizable Beyblades, which Hasbro now refers to as "Performance Tops". XTS Beyblades have a number of features different from normal Beyblades. XTS includes:

Tornado Battlers

Tornado Battlers are inordinarily tall Beyblades which tilt and weave a lot, for "unpredictable attacks", according to Hasbro. In my experience, they're actually quite fun, though uncustomizable. They have a Fusion Wheel-like metallic ring, often circular in shape with some variations. Their tips are different, and the tall track-like body is often shaped differently. It can be fragile, however, since it is plastic.

Electro Battlers

Electro Battlers are not too different from older electronic Beyblades, although they have a new feature - they can now apparently measure their spin velocity. Not as much to say about these. I've seen them in battle, and they're interesting, but the light show gimmick is really all there is to see here - the battles are a lot less intense than those with normal Beyblades.

IR Spin Control Beyblades

These are similar to the old remote control Beyblades. They use infrared technology to control the Beyblades, and have special attacks. I've never battled with them, but here's a video:

They don't have the flashy lights and spin velocity measurement that Electro Battlers do, which is disappointing - these could have had the same features to make for a great toy.

Stealth Battlers

These are yet to be released. I won't speculate about them here, but they apparently have "weapons" that pop out and similar special features. Hasbro is also set to release a "half pipe stadium" which we see them battling in here:

What do you guys think of the XTS? Obviously less competitive than normal Beyblades. The Electro Battlers seem like a waste of money, but I've bought a couple of Tornado Battlers (BBG calls them pencils, heh), and they're actually quite a bit of fun.
The releases of these are actually mentioned and commented on in the existing Metal Fusion/Metal Masters [HOBBY] thread that is stickied in this forum, so please post your thoughts when new releases are made there.

We aren't really openly friendly toward these products - I find many of them neat, but common consensus is a bit more harsh, haha.
