I know some of you out there must have watched both of em.I like american dad more because of the Characters.So which one do you like more?
Family Guy is way funnier because of the cutaway gags, at least back when they did have cutaway gags.
There should definitely be a "neither" option.

Napolean Dynamite (Fictional character, I know) is getting his own cartoon series, who cares about these two anymore? We need Meg to systematically conclude the series.
Plus, at least they tuned down Brian's acrid political chattiness.

American Dad by far. All the characters are interesting instead of just watching Family Guy for Stewie and Brian.
Family guy is way better.
Gotta give my vote to American Dad! because Family Guy lost its edge after the FCC pretty much neutered them. They tried to play it off with the musical number about the FCC like "yeah we are so funny they told us to stop" but American Dad! never had that problem (on a side note South Park never had a "line" that they could cross and it grew into "that show that can do whatever" ). In the modern episodes of Family Guy they manage to get a few zingers in there, but those few zingers they get, Rodger can get like 2-3 of them every episode.
I would definitely say Family Guy because everyone hates Meg and that's just funny. And, Stewie's awesome.
