I woke up on my bed. It was a beautiful day outside but it wouldn't be for me. I gave a small cough and opened the door. Most of the elves were already up and bustling about running to the castle and serving the humans. I looked angrily at the castle. Being an enslaved elf I hated the humans. The elves all did. We were forced to serve them happily then mope back here in our small sheds. I walked toward the job assigner, a burly human with a wide array of weapons hanging at his belt. "Terradon...you're late" he declared in a loud voice. "Sorry." I said in a I-don't-really-mean-that tone. He glared at me then gave a satisfactory smile. "You will be...take the king and his family thee breakfast.". I stared dumfounded. Delivering to the king and his family was the worst job ever. Half the elves who went never came back. I bit my lip then walked to the castle. I took in all the nature and all the beauty afraid that I wouldn't see it ever again. I entered the caste and ran down to the kitchen corridor wanting to be early. I was given a tray filled with food, dwarfing the amount he got a day. I ran up about eight flights of stairs and opened the door to the hall of the royal family and almost cracked at what I saw.

The first emotion that hit me was envy. The hall was covered in pricey gems and metals. Navy banners hung from the walls and the ceiling sporting the royal families crest. I wanted all of these things. I felt a mix of anger and envy. I wanted to kill them all then take their possessions. A voice brought me back to reality. " Hey pointy ears. Are we going to get out food or not.". I looked over at the voices direction. A family was sitting at the table holding their forks impatiently. They all wore clean white robes with a golden trim. The family consisted of a 13 year old girl which was about my age the king and queen obviously and a little girl about 10 with a clear I-am-a-princess demeanor. I hurried there and set the food down. The older girl mouthed a thank you and the others took it without looking at me. The little princess took a bite of a piece of venison and spit it out. "Daddy my meat is cold." she said grinning in an almost sadistic manor. "Okay I will have a word with the elf about this." the king got up and walked over to me and grabbed the collar of my shirt violently. "Listen pointy ears and listen good. If you even dare to serve my family cold meat again you wont see day light....UNDERSTAND!" I looked up and him with a fierce glare upon my face. He was not going to get an apology. He glared back then struck me across the face with his hand. he then let go of my shirt and allowed me to run away.

I waited till I was outside the castle to moan in pain. I could taste the blood that was gushing out of my moth, and believe me it was not pleasant. I ran back to my small shed and open the door. I rushed inside and locked the door hurriedly. I pulled a box out from under my bed then opened it. I always went through my possessions when I was freaked out. The box contained a Rusty Iron Dagger, an amulet, and A arrow. I grabbed the dagger and held it tightly in my hand. I had gotten the dagger from my father when he died. It was my prize possession. I held it in my hand and thought to myself for an hour or so until i heard a knock on the door. I scrambled up and opened it. The princess that was his age was standing in front of him in a blue-green robe holding a plate of food. she gave it to him with a smile "Sorry about my family they didn't eat their food at all after that so....I brought t to you." I looked at the plate greedily. It had three pieces of meat, carrots, and a biscuit piled high. "uhh...thanks"I said startled b her kindness. I took the plate and walked back inside with a smile.
