Wait, there is? That is awesome.

Anyway, I didn't see what Khel said but yeah, let's get back to the topic and not my problems. PM otherwise.

Anyways, talking about that..
2 Groups, each person plays twice, the top 2 people in those groups go in into the quarter finals and so on.

Round Robin is where everyone battles each other, and the people with the most points/ wins moves on to the semi-finals/ finals to battle each other.

Round Robin Block System is where everyone is divided into groups and battle each other within that group. Then the winner of each group (block) moves on to the finals battle each other.

Oh, sorry Zander Unhappy Didn't mean to offend you or anything.

Thanks for letting me see that Driger, that helps so much. >_>
I can't see nothing on Driger's post?
It was the quote that Driger was refering to if i'm correct. Is that right Driger?
Yes, I was quoting what Rocky said about the ticket stalls.

This is getting off topic.
when is the next tournament after the spinnoff id really like to go to them all
It hasn't yet been finalized. They're probably more focused on Spinoff right now instead of future events, considering it's less than a week away.

There might be one in the summer: UK Summer Meet but like Khel said, the focus is now on the Spinoff.
Yes the UK Summer meet as been postponed due to the spinoff being put back on(thankyou lord).
Erm, what is the situation in awarding Beypoints at this event? I aware that if we have randoms take part then some members won't get their BP. Are we going to record all the victories and losses and then report them to a comittee member on the Sunday or Monday?

Because of the internet issue that I pointed out further back in the post, this appears to be a concern. It will be a lot of work for the comittee to do. How will forum members remember who they won/lost against?

Pen and paper. Perhaps you've heard of it?
I'm pretty sure that anyone doing a tournament will record the matches and then report them to a Committee member. I was planning to do this with Battle At The Fort atleast.
EDIT: That too, of course.^^^
Ya don't say?? I was thinking along the lines of whether it would be best for use to record and give to you or just have them record themselves.

I still intend to use the internet if possible, whether it be all day or just a few minutes here and there. Peolpe need to be able to register after all. I'm still trying to find out how much it would be.

In the case of no internet then we would record each battle in order on the tournament record sheets (separate to the RR grid sheets). Actually, I intend to do this anyways so that we have something to refer to at any time.

I guess I would send these to a mod unless Brad could let me edit stuff for the weekend. I don't really know how that works though, but I believe Anubis did something similiar before? That's not essential though.
For 24 hours of unlimited internet at the expo will cost £10 for the BT Openzone website.
Wouldn't it make most sense to just set up a table in microsoft excel, or even a word document with a table, and just add the scores of each round for each player next to each name? I mean, the scores will need to be recorded in the tournament anyway, so this'd just make the whole thing more manageable.

That makes a lot of sense. However, they would need to be recorded in such a fashion so as everybody got their BP distributed properly.

This doesn't make sense, it needs to be recorded in order and with each winner and loser individually, so just writing their wins next to their names doesn't make sense.

Is it really that hard to write the Winner and Loser's name on a piece of paper, guys? This is pretty ridiculous. There will be a printable template available in the next day or two, but the information you need to keep is just

Winner / Loser
Winner / Loser
Winner / Loser

For an event, you shouldn't place the burden of reporting matches on each user. Not only is that a lot to place on the user, but it's pretty much inviting the results to be reported incorrectly. There's almost no chance it would go well.
This is what I was trying to get at. I have the WBO Tournament Record sheets that Blitz found somewhere on here. We had the intention on using this, but if there was a simpler method then we would opt for that obviously. The understand the spreadsheet idea wouldn't work for obvious reasons.

One person should be left in charge to take results, so myself, Blitz and Rocky with alternate who is doing what. This removes any complications with getting the results mixed up with too many people recarding battles. This will also enable the three of us to battle other members and members of the public.

I know I'm probably making a big deal out of nothing. Brad, you have experiance in this sirt of stuff, we don't. Worrying and stressing is part of my nature when it comes to something huge like this.

I'm not gonna create an Excel table. We'll have a grid with all the names on each side so that we can see who needs to battle who for the actual tourney. We'll have a separate sheet that just has a list of battles (both tourney and freebattles), in order, and who won against who. This is what I had already thought in any case. Obviously we would have more than one sheet. This is okay, yes? :\

EDIT: Espio, while there are certainly many things to worry about, I'm not sure this is one of them. And I don't see how you can possibly get simpler than the WBO Tournament Record Sheets. :X
We must create an excel spreadsheet which employs vba macros allowing us to create linear progression models telling us the mean, standard deviation, and of course variance in battles. From this data we should be able to find our beta which is essentially our awesomeness factor. Only then can we be fully prepared.
I'm just going to print another 20 Battle record sheets before the event. That will give me 30 sheets that can hold 25 battles.

Total LOLZ at Khel!

Glad to see that you understand it. Yes, this is exactly it.
