what I am more interested in is the black B-daman at the top of the page, can anyone translate for us?
(Dec. 27, 2011  8:53 PM)Nwolf Wrote: [ -> ]1) an illegal modification is when you have changed a B-daman in such a way that it changes the performance of it.

then technically, by this definition, it would be illegal by just swapping around parts that were manufactured by takara-tomy.

Physically changing or otherwise altering the part to serve a purpose that was not intended by the manufacturer could possibly be the definition of "illegal". Examples from Beyblade include filing down a sharp tip so it is flat.

Would be cool to see a rule about legal modifications/homemade parts for the sake of ergonomics. Some people have really big hands or long fingers that make it uncomfortable to use B-Daman, even with parts such as Chrome Revan Cyclone's grips.

this is what I meant and I thank you for pointing this out to me. Also I have just recorded a short review of spin leohjya which I might do a part 2 of it. aaaannnd I might be getting force dragren at some point, as I have leftover money I can spend.
:Would you be willing to do a review? I tried to get a Force Dragren, but (as my luck would have it) eBay's server was having a temper tantrum. This would also aid my endeavors in making the rulebook.

:I have taken that into consideration, as I too have big hands. As the rulebook is not yet to its first complete stage, let's keep the dialogue open.

EDIT: I managed to get the Force Dragren after all, as well as a Rev Dravise, Torque Beargar, and Stabilizer Tune Up Gear. I'll do reviews of all of them when I get them, as well as modify the rules accordingly.
hmm, seems like you have no need for a force dragren review. I am going to look on ebay at which B-daman there are to get, and order one.
:I recommend Stroke Orochi. Stroke Cores (besides the one from Zero 2 SS) have a history of good shot control, plus the expanding foot parts could be useful in both Control and Rapid-Fire customs with big Magazines.

Back on topic, I have some more questions to pose for updating the official rules for v0.7, as for which games to support.(I need someone to help me make a table for this sometime)

1.Should all B-Daman have a form of DHB made for them in the official rules, or should DHB be exclusive to Battle B-Daman types?

2.Should "automatic" B-daman like Mega Diabros and Gatling Hades be banned/restricted? (Mega Diabros had a battery-powered core that shot marbles with a motor, while Gatling Hades had a pump-operated core that shot marbles in bursts)

3.Should the 2-piece Power Up Rule apply to ALL B-Daman, or just Cross Fight? (I really want to apply this to Crash B-Daman,but it defeats the purpose to an extent, and the description of a Power Up Part in Battle B-Daman is very vague)

4.Which games from which series should be supported? (For example, DHB from Battle, or Crash Tower from Crash, etc.)

Any input is appreciated.

the foot parts are more a gimmick than anything else. I'm probably gonna get force dragren for the core and the arms and head.

DHB was only really battle B-daman and was banned in tournaments in the other series'.

No, simple answer because they had their downsides, the battery core makes it heavier, also I know many a people (including me) that was able to beat Gatling hades and it's mainly skill that you need, plus with rapid fire a downside is you have to load more B-daballs. I think it should only be banned if at tournaments it's the only B-daman to win.

I think maybe no, because alot of the body parts on B-daman in the older series could change the effect of the B-daball naturally, and it would be harder to distinguish what was a power up part or not. for now best to leave it be.

battle B-daman- DHB

B-daman fire spirits - ???

crash B-daman - crash tower

cross fight B-daman - ???

the reason for the ??? is that the games were swapped around alot in fire spirits, and cross fight is only starting out.
: It's up to you. Thanks for the suggestions BTW, I need input from other players like you.

And, after that, I have finished the v0.7 rules for Cross Fight B-Daman standard play. Though,it's still incomplete; I need to figure out a proper method for doing tournaments, because Round Robin wouldn't work for this game.
no problem, seeing as I have experience in this I might aswell help.
So I've done some tests with Rev Dravise now, here's what I've found.

Rev Dravise actually has a function in the included mantle (the piece that latches onto the core at the back). Besides the four rollers at the front of the core, there are an additional two rollers in the mantle, which are meant to "roll" the trigger back faster. From what I noted, this appears to be a very slight difference, though the trigger does feel somewhat more resilient with the mantle on.

By itself, Rev Dravise's rapid fire function works about the same as you'd expect from a B-Daman with rollers in the core-less friction, more speed. This is the ideal Cross Fight B-Daman for large magazines, like the Wide Magazine or the Tornado Magazine it is bundled with in its own set.

Also of note is the Roller Foot that it comes with. Past Roller Foot parts have utilized extra marbles to produce the effect. This uses plastic rollers, limiting the effect. This part is also one of the largest Cross Fight B-Daman foot parts due to the space needed for the rollers.

Overall, it can be said that Rev Dravise shines most when it is paired with a large magazine. The Roller Foot is disappointing, but the Rev Core and its mantle have a lot of potential.
I thinking of getting into this what should I buy first?
I would recommend steer eagle, it is easy to use and the control type is always a good beginner type. I think steer eagle is alot simpler than others and would be easier than having a complicated one where you have to work out a style in which to use it.
-S:To start out, pick up a tournament set (I recommend CB-05 Official Field Set +,being the most affordable). They come with B-Daman (CB-05 comes with the power type CB-01 Accel Dracyan, that's how I got mine), and all the stuff you need to play.

Alternatively, if you want to try different B-Daman, you can always pick up other B-Daman with the tournament set(my personal recommendation for a beginner is CB-06 Steer Eagle, just as Nwolf said, or for rapid fire, try CB-08 Rev Dravise or CB-02 One Sided Sharks.).

You'll also want to pick up some Tune-Up Gear. Personally, I'm in favor of the BM-07/CB-17 Straight Barrel (good for increasing accuracy on anything), BM-17/CB-16 Wide Magazine (great for rapid fire types that aren't using Rev Core), CB-10 Tornado Magazine (a must have for Rev Core users), CB-13 Stabilizer (Helps with heavy magazines), and BM-12/CB-18 Power Mantle (a great addition to both Accel and Torque Cores).

:Cross Fight B-Daman rules v0.9 have been released. I have made the official tournament format, and would like people to take a look at it.
I disagree with the tournament set, it's a cool set, but i don't think it's a crucial buy. I don't have a stadium but I have several cross fight B-daman and I get along just fine with improvising. you might notice but takara tomy themselves don't 100% use the stadium, and you don't need the targets. If you want to see if it's good or not and don't want to waste alot of money steer eagle.
Can someone give me a link or something which showcases all the current tune-up parts? Thanks
http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/b-d....html#gear

Before you say you can't use it because it's in Japanese, it's the only site I know of that actually showcases ALL of the Tune-Up Gear. If you need to know any of the product names, you can cross-reference with this topic.

I'm almost done with the first full official release (v1.0) of the official rules. The only thing left to do is try practical application of them, which I'm doing tomorrow. I'll be posting the results here.
Guys, I just wanted to say thank you for your help on this thread, and it is very useful to have knowledgeable people to help spread the word of the new series. I also have some good news! it's actually quite a good idea, put forward by a friend of mine. Basically, this is the idea. We all become lets say scouts for certain areas around where we live, a bit like with the beyblade thing. and you spread the word, and get them to tell poeple who are interested, maybe show them one, and if enough people are interested, set up a demonstration, and let them have a go, if they like it they can say to others that it's really good, then when you get enough people liking start setting up tournaments, and get the word out about it via the fans, then the community grows and grows until eventually it will become at the stage of beyblade (maybe not for a long time though.)
:Way ahead of you, I'm doing a demo at Game Underground in Framingham MA today at 1 PM. I did this at a convention once for MFB before it came out in the US (remember the GameUnicon Brentalfloss video?) and I've even asked him (Brentalfloss) if he'd like to give B-Daman a whirl at PAX East, which he seems to be on board with.

I'm working with Game Underground to gain more support in the community (especially local talent and internet sensations) to help spread the word- B-Daman is a fun game that everyone,no matter how old or young, can enjoy.

I can help you with some ideas for a demonstration, as I said in a PM, if you would like some just PM me back.
:Thanks man.

In the meantime, we should encourage those who have local or independent comic and/or hobby shops around them to swing by and do a B-Daman demonstration. Though I'm fortunate enough to have Game Underground, I know that just me doing events at one store isn't nearly enough.

As a fellow player, I encourage you to call/e-mail local independently owned comic, hobby or game shops and see if they will let you do a B-Daman demonstration and/or tournament there.

The key is to keep communication lines open between us.
tournaments are the best way of getting people interested, mainly get it sorted out, and then ask if you can put up signs of the tournament going on in local hobby shops.
i think all of those are great ideas!! im glad that im not the only one with such ideas! please try your best guys!!! as for me: i need to get my hands on a rev dravice starter... -.- all i have is old gen

Ah, by style I mean with spin leohjya to shoot normally you have to aim slightly off centre, Rev Dravise is weaker than the others, Force Dragren you have to be excellent at aiming with scopes, power types need more strength, but steer eagle is easy to use and is a good core to have.
okay thanks but I don't really want steer eagle I was thinking of either getting rev dravise or accel dracyan which one do you recomend?
