Arc=The gods of 2D fighters imo The storyline is 2 Years after the events of Persona 4 There are suspected to be Souji who is being renamed (i don't know don't ask me >_>) Yosuke (I gotta main him :} ) Chie,I think Yukiko will be in there to but i have yet to see pictures of her, Aegis (I gotta sub her :} )These are all the confirmed characters i know of.There are rumored to be Characters from Persona 1 and 2 !!Are you ready to be the ultimate in Mayonaka arena?
Uhh...Yeah, I'm not implying that your thread looks a bit...unprofessionnal, but there are a few points you might want to mention.
First of all, the game will be called 'Persona 4: The Ultimate' or Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena' but the first idea sounds punchier (I also think that you should rename the thread as either one of those two, but I'm not the thread starter) Next, it'll feature characters from both Persona 3 and 4 and there have been a few rumors about character from 1 and 2 being in it as well, since Atlus is basically releasing them all on PSP, these days, anyway. The project is being handled by Arc System Works, who proved they knew how to do excellent fighters with Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, which are both very successful series. The game is also supposed to happen two months(?) after the events of Persona 4, making sort of a sequel. I do wonder what kind of stuff could happen, now...
I'm not a big fighter fan, but I'll check it out.

I know i was going to change it once i get my on my laptop...iyt's tiresome to write it all on a d.s without a stylus.. This would be the one fighter i would play seriuosly,and tournemnts and stuff 1 and 2...this is gonna be a treat
Y'know, thinking about it, the hypothetical plot for the game will probably mostly introduce bad guys and some situation where the two schools actually interact.
I mean really, let's look at all the possible protagonist fighters: Yuu, Yukiko, Chie, Kanji, Naoto, Yosuke, maybe Rise, Teddy, Yukari, Junpei, Fuuka, Aigis, Mitsuru, Akihiko and the list probably goes on.
As for the bad guys: ...Uhh... Adachi? Nyx? (Yeah, right...)
So that's like 15+ vs. Around two guys?
Yeah, probably only bad guys will be brought in.
EDIT: Althought getting to play as Nyx would pretty much make this the best game ever.

There renaming him Yuu..Just like he was renamed many times before.Souji was never an official name it was just the name they took from the manga therefore you're free to call him whatever you want (which is why they let you name him in the game)In fact i like Yuu better then Souji
I always renamed my characters (In both P4 and P3) into Harry Callahan, anyway. Much more awesome, so neither Yuu or Souji have any real signification, for me.
Also, it's just a game, so I'd accept pretty much any reasonable excuse under the sun, for Nyx's return. The people kept yearning for death, Nyx came back. There ya go XD

Minato had sealed nyx so she can't come out again but it does take place 2 years after maybe minato has awakwend :] ☆★☆★
Actually, P4 takes place a year after, doesn't it?...Or it might've been two years. IIRC, one of the side characters comes back to P4 (WITH A VOICE!) and became a senior when that character was a first-year freshman...
And apparantly not. If you fight Margaret in the game, she'll reveal that her younger (and more attractive) sister Elizabeth left the Velvet Room to find a way to release Minato from his seal. They don't say if she succeeded. And Theo isn't mentioned, as he was developed after P4
I actually named my Brotagonist (P4 Protagonist, since Minato isn't as manly as Souji) "Wataru" my first run, and it didn't fit him as well as I thought. When I switched to Souji, I was like, "...Souji sounds much more badcarp than Wataru...I should've named Minato "Wataru"." And he essentially is; I mean, you can date countless women without fear of getting caught (they bring it up, but there really is no consequence) while Minato has to play it safe. I think it's because city people are more emotional than townie people...

So, it seems that the entire cast from P4 will be playable. That still limits us to less than 10 characters, so far (And still no antagonist, mind you) but I'm guessing that they'll reveal more fighters eventually.

They might come up with DLC for some other characters i really want to see how there gonna make the color pallete for some characters

BlazBlue at least had the advantage of none of the characters being allies. Ragna, whom we could consider to be the main character, was pretty much against everyone (Against Jin because he was crazy, against Noel because she wanted to arrest him, against Bang because he was just stupid, against V-13 because she actually attacked him etc.) but what reason do the P4 characters have for fighting each other?
Something I would find very interesting would be to have the P3 cast oppose the P4 cast. In a way, the P4 characters' powers derive from Shadows, since it's pretty much their own Shadows that become Personas. What if the P3 guys would see this as a menace and would fight them to stop them?
I'm talking crazy, but I'd like to know of a plot, soon XD
Okay, so I found this little summary on Wikipedia and I'm highly hoping it's fake.
"Two months following the True Ending of the original game (May 2012), Teddie has mysteriously disappeared. Worried that he has retreated to the TV World without telling them, the remaining Investigation Team members begin watching the Midnight Channel once again, only to find him in a strange outfit announcing a fighting tournament called the "P-1 Grand Prix", to see who is the "Ultimate Persona User". Confused by this turn of events, the group agrees to reunite and enter the tournament to find out what has happened to their friend, as well as see who among them is the Ultimate Persona User."
That's what I was afraid of, people. they don't have a reason. What kind of logic is that, anyway? Teddie's acting crazy, let's strenghten his violent delusions by participating in them! It worked so well in Shutter Island!
I know I shouldn't judge a game without playing it, but, story-wise, this is not looking good. At all.

Anyway gameplay-wise I like it since Blazblue was my favorite fighting game (In par with Tekken xD)
But story-wise, I have just read what Dude just posted and is on the same page with him.
Yeah, I hope it has a different story. Fortunately, Atlus should be doing the story so I'm not that worried...
I...I don't...this is....I don't even.....siiiiigh....Y'know, I was kind of excited for this. I mean, I hope each character has their own storyline that fits into the main storyline, but...no, I don't think that's going to happen. I'm seeing multiple endings than one true ending...this is why I hate fighting games.
However, like the Persona 4 fan I am, I am willing to give this game a shot...
You love your Arc System games too much, don't you? Anyways, this is definately gonna be a sweet game, not necessarily one I'm itching to buy though.

Well, we do see Teddie's new get-up and it is absolutely ridiculous. I honestly bursted out laughing when I saw just how stupid he looked. If that's the reaction they wanted, good job, if not... Major fail on whoever designed that new look XD
Hey, been a while since I posted here XD So, since last time, a bunch of stuff has been announced, including an American release (Around September, I think?) and a bunch of other playable characters but, more importantly, a new trailer was posted... IN ENGLISH!
From this video, we can tell a bit about voice acting. First of all, the protag, Yuu Narukami, is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, the original voice (Which is certainly a good thing) and Yosuke is also voiced by his original voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal. Chie, however, is voiced by Erin Fitzgerald, who confirmed such on her Facebook account. Yukiko has also seen a change in voice acting, but i have no bloody idea who might voice her... I think Kanji also faced a change in voice acting, because he doesn't really sound like Troy Baker, in this vid... Anyway, Teddie also has a different voice, now being dubbed by Sam Riegal. Rise also has a different voice, I believe, so... Yeah, that's pretty much just Johnny Yong Bosch and Yuri Lowenthal that we can be certain will be in the englush dub.
Also, Elizabeth from Persona 3 is a playable character (Whatever she has to do with the story, really) as well as a mysterious robot girl called
Labrys who wields bigass axe. Also note that she's wearing the school uniform from Persona 4. Interesting...

Pretty nice and stylish. Doesn't beat Persona 4's original opening but it sure as hell beats Persona 4 Golden's crappy, horrible opening.
So, the game just came out today and I've already played about an hour of the Narukami storyline.
So, remember when I complained that the protagonists didn't seem to have a a good reason for fighting each other? Well, it turns out they do! Basically, after Narukami gets back to Inaba (I believe to spend his summer vacation there) he watches the Midnight Channel, thinking at first that nothing would happen, but sees a trailer for the P-1 Grand Prix. After contacting his friends, he discovers that Teddie, Rise and Kanji are missing. With Naoto being busy with her job, that leaves Narukami, Yosuke, Chie and Yukiko to go investigate. Once in the TV World, Narukami comes accross Yosuke and he starts treating the protag like carp. Nothing really mean, just saying stuff Yosuke wouldn't normally say like 'You want to save Nanako? C'mon, she's not even your real sister, why don't you cut that carp?' and the two fight. After defeating Yosuke, you learn that Narukami has also been 'saying' rather mean things to Yosuke and that he himself has never said any of the stuff you heard him say. So, basically, someone's manipulating the senses of the heroes into making them fight each other, but who?
This is actually a pretty good intrigue and it probably would've been better if they had explained that first hand instead of basically making us believe the protags would just fight because... because.
We also meet Labrys, though she's known simply as 'Miss President' so far, and... I find her voice hilarious XD Not that it's bad voice acting, far from it, but she has that funny accent... I don't really know what it is XD Could be Texan, or something, but knowing Labrys is actually a robot, it makes it pretty weird XD
