Those are a waste. Never by the 360 unless you are getting a HD with it. Missing out on too much then.
you can buy a cable for HD. then you can pla HD with lower price. right?
Wouldn't buy it anyway.
179,95 €? These prices make my heart bleed! (I was raised to be quite... you could almost say "stingy".)
Granted, the Wii alone cost 250€, but it was a christmas present. And I won't get another console from my parents.
"One's enough!"

this is true, its kind of a hidden cost, many older games need some install space
XD when he said HD i thought he ment high definition lmao
^ So did I. I only realised because of your post and even then it took a while. XD
I'd still doubt that Square Enix would release a demo for 360.
doh, Square didn't even bother to release Japanese 360 version later. only translation.
Sqaure Enix isn't even releasing Final Fantasy XIII on 360 in Japan.
Meh; don't really care what other languages they release it in. As long as it runs well and plays in English they have my $60 CAD (plus tax).

I follow this 100%, well, as far as I can anyway.
But thanks to the 360 version us PS3 owners will be waiting much longer then we should to get a North American release. I kind of hope they release the PS3 version in Japan with an English option.

How about "thanks to SE's terrible time management"?

Leave it to you to blame a console LOL
Um they are delaying the North American release until the 360 version is done. As both will hit on the same day in North America.
And to clear that up even more. Square will apparently only dive into 360 development once the PS3 version is complete.

How about the fact that we have to wait even longer than that because they are translating them into the Europe languages even though they could just let the UK have it because we speak the same language as America but they don't.

You see though, that's an optional wait if you own a PS3. 'Cause PS3 games are region-free. Meaning you can import the US release of FFXIII and play it on your European PAL PS3 without problems. If you plan on playing it on 360, well you're SOL in that regards.

That was why I hoped that the PS3 release in Japan has an English option. Some other PS3 games from Japan and the rest of Asia have done that.

I never knew that, maybe the PS3 is worth something after all.

Yeah that is inefficient project management. Square has poor history with coordination, and it's their own fault they can't allocate their resources effectively enough to get software done on time. Lucky for them in this industry people judge them mostly on the end result; something which they have a good track record of. The process of getting there tends to be overlooked.

They want to hit both markets. They made the conscious decision to develop for both platforms, Microsoft did not put a gun to their head.
It is true that Microsoft didn't hold a gun to Square. They just threw money at them. Sony has said they don't pay for exclusives anymore. I think Microsoft still does though.

That's Sony's fault, then. This way, loads more people in North America get to play FF13. The consumer wins when games aren't exclusives.

Also, how much money did MS pay? Source?

I don't see why Microsoft HAD to pay them for it.

Smallest install base = less profit

combining it with the second largest install base = more profit

Its pure logic in terms of cash
You make it seem like a FF exclusive to PS3 wouldn't make mega dollars. Here's something for you, the Japanese Blu-Ray release of FF VIII Advent Children sold 100,000 copies within a short period of time. That Blu-Ray just so happened to have this demo for FF XIII.

The announcement of FFXIII on 360 wasn't even done by Square Enix. It was done by Microsoft at their E3 2008 keynote (in before, "Durr FFXIII is only one of the most anticipated games of this gen, why wouldn't they talk about it?", remember this, you don't see Sony doing that for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Tales Of Vesperia, and Bioshock 2). Considering most of the games highlighted in said event were games they paid for (ie, second-party exclusives such as Gears Of War 2) it isn't that far of a stretch. It gets even more suspicous once you start finding out release information about FF XIII, not from Square but from Microsoft (this is in regards to FF XIII launching on 360 in other non-Japan parts of Asia).

And clearly Square thinks the PS3 is a viable platform. Not much needs more to be said then FF VS. XIII.

I probably wouldn't have a problem with them releasing the game on 360. It's the whole delay for NA because of the 360 that is bugging me. Which in itself screams of money being tossed at. "Hi guys, we finished this game we've been working years for PS3 and it will launch exclusively on PS3 in Japan, but in NA and Europe, you can wait until the 360 version is done". Yeah doesn't sound like money was paid to Square at all. Sony probably wrote a cheque for Japan. I can see them doing that.
to would you just marry your ps3 already
Seriously To, just shut up.

I might actually be able to take your opinions seriously if you ever presented them in a way that wasn't condescending and completely annoying, but unfortunately it seems you're unable to do that.
