Has anybody noticed that aesthetically, the new characters are mix and matches of previous beyblade characters?

Ginga = Tyson + Daichi
Kyouya = Kevin + Kai
Madoka = Kenny + Hilary
Benkei = Dunga recolored

I mean, is this something that we can just put down to standard character types that are to be expected, or is it simply unimaginative character creators re-hashing previous design elements?
I'm starting to feel like Mugatu in Zoolander.
"Blue Steel, Ferrari, Le Tigre? They're the same thing! I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS HERE!"
I believe that this has happened with alot of other cartoons but i dont believe that this is the case at all with this show to be honest.

It's a childrens' show. Of course there are going to be many elements from the original series. It is designed to appeal to kids, not to us. The anime isn't meant to be thought provoking, it's meant to make the toys look awesome. It needs only to have a flaky story, and nice animation. No point sticking in what won't be appreciated.

EDIT: I think it is a little early in the series to make conclusions on the amount of similarities. Need to let it pan out more.
There are certain characteristics and stereotypes that are common with all shonen anime. Any similarities aren't because they're copying the old series - it's because they're sticking to a proven formula to make it popular. And if you look for similarities you can find them anywhere. Stop searching and they won't be so prominent.
Plus, as everyone has said, it's still early days. We might get some angsty flashbacks or something that totally turn you matches upside down.

However, you do get points for the Zoolander quote. Grin
Spot on Rocky

If it aint broke don't fix it, Beyblade isn't meant to be an engaging serious anime, its just extended promotion for the toys, if they made a ton of money beforehand with the same forumula then why change it?

Sorry to break your ethusiasm but they have nothing to do with the old characters, if we follow your approach it is even possible to state that Ginga resembles either Goku or Ash and besides there was a similar thread like this which got closed...

Therefore, I am closing it as this is a brand new series for god's sake stop trying to associate it with the old series...
