This is pretty much the most hyped comic book movie of all time, if not the most hyped movie period. As a cinephile, I pretty much have to go see this movie.
Has the vilain been confirmed, though? I hope it's not someone lame, like Galactus, unless they seriously re-work his design, like they did for Parallax.
I knew that there was going to be a movie for when those guys came together because I was wondering why so many Marvel superhero movies were coming out.

It should be obvious since the movie studio that makes all of them has been saying it for at least 6 months... Anyway really would like to see this. I love superhero movies and I thought Captain America was great.

Surprised to see Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow. I mean, she's great eye candy but maybe not the best actor out there...
The simple fact that Hawk Eye's on the team makes it that much more awesome. Him & Captain A will make this movie for me.
I agree she's very nice to see in the movie ,but they could have put a better actress to do the part.
Hawk eye is indeed gonna help make the movie great. I mean who doesn't like a awsome Archer who can fight ,and shoot arrows with such accuracy?!
Eh, I just might go see this, which would utterly betray my "Never see a comic-book superhero movie" mantra I adopted years back. (When they tended to suck.) Even I have to get hyped to an extent, despite my harping. Damn you, Marvel. You're killing my resolve right now. I already broke down and watched the other movies that go with this outside of Captain America. (Frankly, the Hulk movie didn't really do much for me. Eh. Same with Iron Man 2. It was a good movie, but not enough for me to permanently put my bias to rest.)

ive been waiting for this, both iron man movies were showing massive hints for it, i haven't seen thor or captain america but im sure they show hints aswell. this is the film that would end all the films, but isn't captain america based before the time this is based in? how does he get there (unless the story is like the avengers cartoon).

If you watch Captain America/read the cartoon, then you know. It's pretty much the same thing.

In the movie, after "defeating" Red Skull (He is sooooooo not defeated) he got froze in ice for years and was only brought back in our era and welcomed by Samuel L. Jackson.

So, apparently, Loki is going to be the villain in this one. He follows the sensitive ideology of "If everyone is too busy worshipping me, then they won't have any time do to wars and carp" It's disappointing for me, because I think Loki was the weakest part of the Thor movie. He wasn't awful or anything, just...nothing special. I guess we were kinda spoiled with Heath Ledger's Joker, in terms of comic book movie villain, and maybe he'll be better and more intimidating than he was in Thor, since he apparently saw some stuff when he went through that wormhole at the end of the movie.
This also seems odd because the trailer featured cars flying around and wide-spread mass destruction, something Loki never really seemed able to do, even with Odin's spear. Did he gain some power, through the wormhole? Does he have an army, now? Why would we need like seven heroes when Thor seemed pretty able to deal with him on his own?
OK, I hope I don't get in trouble for reviving, but I watched the movie yesterday. Anyone else think it was awesome?
I was shocked at the technology, and apparently Mike Ruffalo (Hulk actor) was able to use new tech to actually be able to act out Hulk instead of using special effects, robots, and all that jazz (Of course, special effects were still used. This just means he was actually playing out the part on set). RDJ was a perfect Iron Man, and I couldn't have chosen anyone better to play a perfect Captain than Chris Evans. Whole cast looked great, except for one plot: Really, Marvel? Scarlet Johannesson as Black Widow? I mean she was not bad in the part...I'm just not a huge fan of her as an actor, overall. In any case, the ending was a great conclusin and really solidified their return to fight Loki as a team. To answer your old question, Dude, Loki used the tesseract cube in his spear to 1) Use mind control 2) To do pretty much whatever he wanted. Definitely a top 5 movie for me, and am considering going back to see it for a second time (And for the record: Results are in; it was only $10 million behind HP 7 part 2--2nd highest opening weekend movie of all time)

Um, Avengers smashed HP 7 part 2's record by $30 million. It has the largest U.S. weekend opening of all time with $200.3 million in 3 days.

It was a great movie. In fact, this is the only time I got off my lazy butt to go see a movie. Except for THG though. And HP 7 Pt. 2. And will also get off it for The Hobbit. But anyway, yeah. Scarlet Johannesson is okay but she's more for eye candy really. Robert Downey Jr. is amazing. He can play the arrogant side of Tony Stark perfectly. And The Avengers beat HP already. And I'm actually okay with it since the movie was absolutely epic.
