So. What do you use and why? And more importantly, what species do your country supply?

Sony Ericsson "Walkman Series" phone, convenient to manage calls and music and photography.

Advantage of newer phones are all these fancy features. However, it usually causes the OS to lag badly, and although I love Sony phones, their OS is very fragile and needs frequent servicing.

I have to use slide phones as even if I lock my phone, phones with exposed keypads tend to mysteriously type strange things and call random numbers in my pocket. Clamshells are troublesome as I can't open them without taking them out of my pocket, so I can't sms without taking it out.

This type of phone has very smooth button action. Smoothest and easiest to sms in my experience.[/php]

In Singapore here, common brands are Nokia, Sony, Samsung, Motorola, etc., and several cheap brands from countries like China.

I'm aware that in many other countries the common brands are different. What does your country use?

Umm I use an L6 because it's slim and I can't get any new phones at this moment. But yeah, I want to import a phone from either Singapore or Japan since everyone has like the same phone here in the US.
i use the motorolla razor...and i dont really use it much. i have little need for a cell phone
I have a carp Virgin Mobile switch back or whatever it's called.

I rarely use it though as its mostly for emergencies so I honestly couldn't care less.

Also, besides a camera, I think all of these new built in features in phones are totally retarded. I have an MP3 player with way more storage and much better sound quality than a phone ever thought about having.

Tried Sony Walkman phones before? They're pretty good and come with quite decent earpieces, although I use a third party set of earphones from Shure. Most of these phones also have an external memory card, so you can change the memory as you see fit.

The impression I get is that most of you don't use your cellphones much?
Nope. I just use it for when I need it. I text occasionally, but not too much since we don't have unlimited texting in our plan.
i dunno. i only have my phone for emergencies

i hate talking on the phone

Snap.
Also, yeah, I'd love to get one of those carp-hot 3g models from Japan.
As little as I would use it, being able to connect to a special line, and search for a song by humming the tune is pretty incredible.

SamsungA720. I use it for the mp3 player and to text/call people. I like it.
That is a sweet looking phone.
iphone still wins
Eh, the iPhone is cool looking and all but it's horribly uncomfortable to talk on, in my opinion.

I demoed one extensively at my local AT&T store when they first came out because I was debating buying one.
you shut your carp lovin mouth
the iphone is sweet as hell, but I think it's kinda bulky. It wouldn't go well in my pants.

And has anyone seen the razr 2 yet? That thing looks sooo fricken awesome!
My phone is some crappy AudioVox one that I've had since forever that I swear every person in Yellowknife has. I should look into getting a new one soon, but I'm lazy and don't want to pay for it myself. >>;

Same here. My parents stock up on pay-as-you-go cards and crappy 2 year old cell phones, lol. I don't need monthly plans, I don't talk much on the phone.
if i talk with the honies i go out in style and go irl sonnnnnnnnnnn

composer ive used my friends walkman ericsson, it does mp3 fine

I prolly buy a phone in two years, at that point i'll want it to include mp3er
As an Apple fan, I really don't like the iPhone very much. I have a laptop to do all the things it does except for phone calls.

My dream phone:

my life isnt fair im 14 and my mom still wont let me get a cell phone
oh nic samsung, lg, moto, sony, nokia blackberry are biggest players in canada
I got a Cect P168 (fake iPhone fools)

Speaking of the iPhone, it's definitely not bulky at all. Just a little on the heavy side.

I really wanted to get one, but damn, the ringer is so soft! So I'll pass.

I want to get a Nokia N95. Just not for 700 damn dollars.
