Would probably have helped if you'd mentioned New Jersey in the topic title. Also, there was just a meet-up in New Jersey ... there are far higher seniority members than you who would be trusted to host events.

I don't a big tournament just a little event where members can meet each other and battle do you have any advice?

Uh, go to one of the ones that's held in NJ already?
