This is meant for Elementary school kids taking on High School, and as I am assuming that there are alot of young bladers on WBO, I hope this comes in handy for you guys Joyful_3.

Tip#1- Have a thorough understanding of your future school's facilities, regions, classrooms, etc. There is nothing more annoying than having Grade 8's running around like chickens.

Tip#2- Make some friends! High school isn't just all about homework and studying, a large portion of it is also making friends, some who will be be buddies with you for life, change your life, or more. At first, you'll hardly know people, so making friends is tough. The best thing to do is to stick with your old friends, until you make some new friends. Then, you could go hang out with them, and things will go from here.

Tip#3- Know the people in your school. By being in high school, you'll soon recognize the wide variety of students in the school environment. Basically, all students can be classified into 4 groups: The popular people/jocks at the top, average people in the largest middle layer, nerds/geeks/weird people right below, and finally, scary goths/"The end is nigh" people, and the remaining accumulation of "trash"... Don't want to be mean, but if you're unintelligent, not very good looking, AND unfriendly, yes, you would definately be at the bottom of the school Tower of Power Tongue_out. Depending on who you are, it would be wise to jump into your appropriate trophic level, to make life easier for yourself, and to be in the ideal environment with people similar to you.
Generally though, it is better to be in the Average People level, before either staying, hopping up, or hopping down. By now recognizing people, you can also be more intelligible in your interactions, perhaps staying away from the dangerous kids, and hangout with the nicer ones?

Tip#4- Hit the books! Read books, study, and do your homework Smile getting high grades is still respectable I think... You can get good grades without being called a nerd, as some popular people also get high grades Smile.

Tip#5- Hit the Gym! By staying fit, you'll have more energy to do the things you need to do, and feel awesome doing them.

Tip#6-Stop thinking you're so cool, and stop trying Tongue_out.
If you are already a popular kid, then please look away. Don't be offended kids, but most people starting out in High School are noobs... Simple as that. Look at some of the coolest people in their sophomore years, they started off as noobs just like you. By going up to higher grades, you'll learn so much about life, yourself, and your friends, and from there you'll gain alot of exp, also meaning you're getting "less noob". As for being cool... Most times it doesn't work. That is why there is the huge Average Student layer. Only a small percentage of Average People can go up the chain, gaining the status of "Associated Cool". So... Stop trying to impress people Tongue_out.

Tip#7-Good Hygiene. Pretty straightforward, have a fresh pair of clothes everyday, nice shower, light deodorant/perfume. Keeps you looking and feeling your best everyday. Also keep your locker clean. Moldy sandwiches and old homework is NOT sexy >.>.

Tip#8-Live it up! High School is the last few fun years you'll have before work/post secondary, and truth is... Life will kinda suck after graduation Tongue_out. So, join teams/clubs, participate in school activities, volunteer, etc. Be out there, enjoy your high school years Smile.

Good luck, work hard, have fun, stay safe, and please PLEASE learn how to use a combo lock >.>.
Nice, I just suggest that you put this somewhere where it will be available to a larger group of readers eh?
It can only be out put here though.
I'm going into high school next year. *GULP* can't wait....
Well frm where we come frm there is nt much of a difference...goin to high school means tat u can get rid of ur shorts and wear pants as our uniform...and basically it is nt a huge jump...Its just a new year like anyother normal years...ha..Eee

Gulp.....hope i do well this year..... O.O"

thanks for thw tip!
This is actually fairly accurate. Unless you go to a school like mine, where the "low tier" consisting of ugly, stupid people is the majority of the school, and they are the popular kids. It's ok though, I mean, it's not like they're going anywhere in life. Regardless, this is a pretty good guide, I wish I had it during my freshman year.

OH GOD YES. Maybe I wouldn't mind being friends with freshmen if they didn't do exactly that.
most of this is very true.....(hey i was in that scary goth group for a year, and quite honestly the are about as normal as everyone else.)

i did my time in highschool, though the only best advice i can give anyone going is:

dont just do your time, live your time because after you get out of high school no one cares what happens to you after words the world is crule, and your going to loose sight of all your freinds, because they will always have something better to do than be with you. it sucks but its only the truth.

high school is your last 4 years of being a kid, make the best of it. rent sucks, bills suck, and trying to get money sucks, the only thing that dosent suck......is driving, but paying for that car to run SUCKS!

your not going to get along with everybody........DONT TRY! LOL so other than that.............have fun HEHEHEHEHE
I'm going into grade 10, so I already have a year of experience, but my grade 10 is going to be at a completely new school... the only positive thing that might happen is I get to meet more bladers. so yeah, I'm scared of what might happen.
You might want to spell "Surviving" correctly.
Or most kids can just go to school, not listen, get 3 girls pregnant in the first week and ta dah! You get an awesome rep of a ladies man.
I pride myself on sustaining usually flawless grammar T.T thanks Kai...

"The end is nigh" doesn't help that statement. XD
Um, that is actually how it is spelled. Some knowledge on Apocalyptic theories would help Tongue_out.

Oh, sorry! I thought you were trying to spell "The end is near". Pinching_eyes
Nwin, you still haven't spelled it right... first you put "surving", now "survivng"...
I still got a few years before that i'm in 6th grade and those were some pretty good tips.
I agree with these, I'm finishing 9th grade now and these tips help alot for those who are entering high school. I agree Grei, those are great tips! XD But yeah, being cool is not thinking you are, it makes you look like a total dork. I might add, it helps to have some popular friends too.... And hey! I'm a very popular nerd who's not awkward at all (got my street cred Wink), blending between the 4 types of kids is always there too.
OH NO. High School in 2 yrs. oh god please let the world end before 2013 so this nerd/geek dosent get hung on a tree
high school is what you make of it. it's really no big deal, you have your jerks, and you have your cool peeps. every one knows snobbery is the public mask of insecurity.

High school is awesome Cool. I was too, nervous. But now after taking my state exams, heh. I feel like im in an anime o-o
Just a message to any "in" LGBT students going in to High School. You don't HAVE to come out in High School if you don't want to. And if you do, it may get better, it may get worse, or it could just stay the same. I came out a few weeks ago and so far it's only gone uphill, but not every experience is the same. Just remember that your TRUE friends in High School are the ones that will accept you and love you no matter what.

Ditto.
Meh.
I know the jerks/preps/ect. I have to deal with them in every class this year, and I'm sick of them.
MANY times I find them complaining about their phones.
And guess what they are?
IPHONE 4'S, DROIDS, ECT, ECT. It makes me mad that they complain about everythign they have but want improved, and yet, I have a phone, which is NOT smart, and I deal with it perfectly.
If only the world was that simple...
