Hello all Bladers of the world!

Us here at the WBO are revving up for the 2009 season and our goal is to host many tournaments worldwide! Already we have two confirmed events in Canada, one in the USA and one in the UK, but my goal is to also have some organized in Turkey, Mexico, Australia, and anywhere else where there's a large enough Beyblade presence to warrant one. I'd like to get a schedule going for 2009 soon, so it's time to start planning! Check out the World Beyblade Organization forum for details on all of these events. The goal is to have several high-volume events during May through August.

However, I need to ask for all of your help in two ways. First off, I need to talk about our finances ... or lack thereof. While Anime North does finance our infamous events in Toronto, there is currently zero funding for any of the other events. I'm willing to support these events out of pocket as much as I can, which unfortunately isn't much. We're desperately in need for sponsorship if we're going to make 2009 a great year for Beyblade. So, if you're interested in donating, check it out here.

Secondly, I need to hear from people who want tournaments in their areas. If there isn't an event already scheduled in your vicinity, feel free to send me a PM or post about it in the World Beyblade Organization forum looking for interest. I'll do everything I can personally to help get your event moving, and supply you with everything I can.

Thanks for reading everyone!
Wow this is a great idea Brad Smile
I hope they all go really well
Yeah I wouldnt mind hosting an Australian tournament sometime down the tracks, will probably do once I manage to find a Full time job Smile
Sega, we're very interested in doing some Australian stuff this year. PM me if you want to talk about it more.

I love you.
I cud do an tourney... but if people were interested in Blading. Although I cud make an advertisment ... So if anyone who blades can contact me and if enough people show up I'm gd 2 go.
For anyone curious about WBO's funding right now, we're actually in the red. There's basically no money available to us. Lips_sealed I'd offer an account upgrade that could be bought for like $10 a year, but I already gave everyone here basically unlimited privileges lol
EDIT: NVM

Well most message boards offer things like unlimited PM space, unlimited attachment space, avatar and signature upgrades, etc. for a fee. Everyone here already has all of that so I can't really give it out. I don't know what to offer to people to make them want to donate.
It's not lyk they'll expect sumin in return... Cuz they're donating...
You could do like badges or something or able to change colour of your user name?
stuff like that for a fee might work but might get a little tacky.

T-Shirts dammit. You've got a whole thread about them but I see no clothes. D:

Take away privelages, and then charge $$ <_<
This is a great idea to get the WBO into full swing. I will probably be hosting some more tournaments in NJ since we have a good fanbase from the NJ/NY area.
Im not too far from NJ, could be fun.

I actually would.......as long as their not orange. I need more T-Shirts anyways. I'm prolly the only one though. XD
A beyblade world tour sounds awesome and maybe eventually someone can put the tournament schedule on the calender Smile

You can't just do that if everything was already available before. There's some people that might get upset and act out against it and also it might push people away from the site Unhappy (Unless you were being sarcastic....)

Just some raw, random ideas to make money for WBO:

- Set up some kind of small online store that sells stuff like WBO T-shirts, beyblades, etc. Then put advertisements on there. Then link the store page through this website but don't make WBO directly related to it.

- Set up beyblade events at bigger events like Anime North to kind of tell people about WBO and sell some stuff like the T-shirts, posters, possibily beyblades.

- Have an option where you can suscribe (and pay, obviously) to a monthly news thing, (kind of like a WBO magazine/newspaper but with everything in it) which top members and staff who are interested can create. The magazine can have stuff like the WBS rankings, summary and highlights of what happened that month, analysis and test results of certain beyblades, tournaments -coverage, pics. results, etc. (since there plans to be a lot this year), news (especially from Japan), new releases and a section in the back with the manga and anime, and a contest (whether its random artwork, beyblade designs, etc.)

***But about the small online store, I don't think would be a good idea to get WBO directly involved with this store thing.
maybe have a coulors of a flag(lil one) next 2 every ones name so you know whos in your country and avalible for tornaments
EDIT: NVM
The T-shirt idea is the best, and if I get a job this summer or any extra cash, I would definitely donate/ buy a T-shirt. I'm broke for the rest of the winter and spring, though (I don't get allowance, have a job, or have any way to get any money unless my relatives give me some =/).
How much would you guys be willing to pay for t-shirts?
Whatever price gives you a good enough profit that they would be worth selling. Lol
They would probably be around $30, if not more Confused
Dang, I'd probly be able to buy since I wouldn't have much else to spend my money on, but IDK about everyone else. It is a pretty high price =/.
