When I searched for this, it didn't come up, so I thought I just make this thread myself. This is for discussion on the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer.

If you have never read this series this is what the first book is about:

Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is the most ingenious criminal mastermind in history. With two trusty sidekicks in tow, he hatches a cunning plot to divest the fairyfolk of their pot of gold. Of course, he isn't foolish enough to believe in all that "gold at the end of the rainbow" nonsense. Rather, he knows that the only way to separate the little people from their stash is to kidnap one of them and wait for the ransom to arrive. But when the time comes to put his plan into action, he doesn't count on the appearance of the extrasmall, pointy-eared Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon (Lower Elements Police Reconnaisance) Unit--and her senior officer, Commander Root, a man (sorry, elf) who will stop at nothing to get her back.

I apologize if there is another topic for this, but I didn't get any topics when I searched. Feel free to close this if there is another topic for this.
I remember borrowing one, I think it was the arctic one, if I remember correctly. You should read Alex Rider, it's very similar to Artemis Fowl though I find it more interesting.

Honestly, I think that the whole series of events from the last several books (5, 6, & 7) are leading up to something big. I mean, all of book five was setting up Artemis time-travelling, and stealing magic, and that was to set up Artemis getting the Atlantis Complex. This is just what I think, but I get the feeling that book 8 is going to be either the penultimate or final book in the series. How about y'all?
i think so too odin but for some reason i keep thinking artemis is falling of a cliff??and butler is killing his sister
Eoin Colfer already announced that Atlantis Complex was the penultimate book, so you are right Odin. The series will end with the next book, and I'm also a huge fan of Artemis Fowl, and @A', I've also read every Alex Rider except for the last one.
I think Book 8 is going to be about the 2 Opal Kobois trying to take over the world (again).

Does anyone know when is going to come out?
IMO Artemis Fowl > Alex Rider

The series is just much more entertaining to me then a teenage super spy.
I have yet to read the latest books. I think the last one i Read was Book 5 or 6

Well, you have quite a ways to go, my friend. And I agree with your first sentiment. Oh, and by the way, a lot happens in books VI and VII, especially with the beginning of VI explaining what happened at the end of Lost Colony.
Oh, Artemis Fowl! That is amazing, I read from 'Artemis Fowl' all the way up to 'Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex' It's amazing, I heard there's going to be a movie or something, But all Book movies suck, See Percy Jackson, the movie sucks. I kinda like the Harry Potter movies though, but the books still outclass Harry Potter movies. The Graphic Novels are nice too.

I really like Butler, His sister. Artemis is so cool, and smart. His mom is cool too. Holly is cool too.
I hope the name of the 8th book is revealed soon. I can't wait!
Ahh I love the Artemis Fowl series. I wonder when the next book is coming out? Speechless I like the ones closer to the beginning of the series, rather than the newer ones. They just don't have the same feel to them as the original ones.
for the real books the opal dectipion was the best -any one read the GN?
At First, i was like, Artemis Fowl was like a nOOb book, since it was that thick (I dislike thick books). Until i saw Artemis Fowl the comic edition, i decided to borrow it from my school library. My first impression on reading it was wtf is this guy? I tried to understand it better, so i went to borrow more Artemis Fow books. It was a great story, focusing on helping an alien creature, time-travelling etc. Haha, 'Don't judge the book by its cover' is really true Tongue_out
I must bring back the thread. The final Artemis Fowl book is coming. Here is the info
Name: Artemis Fowl and the last guardian
Book:8
Release: July 10, 2012
