(May. 30, 2013  4:59 PM)Ultra Wrote: [ -> ]Considering Dragooon BD145RDF combos beat essentially all stamina apart from things on BGrin I wouldn't call say it has OK stamina. Also L Drago Destroy/Guardian aren't in the same league as Dragooon.

Maybe my RDFs have always sucked, but I've never known BD145RDF (including on Dragooon) to be capable of consistently outspinning (not just tying) Stamina types. Sometimes it can, but never consistently.
Really? Because when me and Blitz use the Dragooon version in the UK it has consistently beaten pretty much all stamina apart from B:D combos. I don't think i've ever seen it lose to a stamina combo apart from B:D. How used are your RDFs?

Seriously that amazes me because the current metagame in the UK for BB-10 is this:

Stamina beats right spin B:D combos which beats Dragooon BD145RDF beats stamina.

It just goes round and round really. Neither one beats everything (however if you have a good mold of B:D then that can beat stamina and break the chain) so you just have one counter for each thing.
With a meta like that, how come it isn't totally dominated by MF Flash Orion W145MF? It would KO Stamina, completely decimate B : D, and simply Tornado Stall Dragooon.

BTW I have to agree with Kei here. Whenever I have used or gone against LDD/LDG BD145RDF, it's been mostly ties with the occasional win by either side. The RDF combo won most of the time, however.
From my experience, RDF can meet the tornado ridge or at least get contact with Flash. This nullifies any potential Flash could have at OSing it.
Wow, are everyone else's RDFs really aggro or something? Because my RDFs could maybe get one, two hits in at a Tornado Stalling opponent before stabilizing and moving to the center...
However, an attacker could still dominate. Considering the best attacker beats the most popular defenders(I would say best but E230 is dicey), there really should be more attackers in tourneys.
@*Ginga* and Ultra, I freakin love yall for using Gryph Gryph E230BSF and Bahamdia Dragooon SP230GF! That is awesome that yall both tried those in an actual tournament!
Well yeah if Blitz hadn't used Dragooon BD145RDF i'm sure I would have won.

Not sure really. Not one really even attempts proper attack types over here. I've never thought about how vulnerable the UK metagame combos are to attack. I'm not talking about L Drago Destroy/Guardian. I'm talking solely about ____ Dragooon BD145RDF.

No prob man! I need to work on my launching, but I did well with it!

(When everybody saw the combo they asked what it was, I said Gryph Gryph E230BSF, and they were like "Oh, isn't that KainHighwind's combo?")
BEYBLADE REVOLUTION: The Insurgents - 5/24/13 - Standard Format
1st: Stars - Reviser Dragoon B:D / Duo Cancer B:D / MF-L Phantom Cygnus 85MF
2nd: Kei - MF Diablo Kerbecs BD145RF / MF-M Duo Cygnus SA165EWD / MSF Genbull Genbull F230CF / MSF Wyvang Dragooon BD145RDF
3rd: geetster99 - Killerken Dragooon BD145EWD / Reviser Genbull SA165BWD / Phantom Cancer BD145EDS

One thing I'll never forget about this tournament is when I was playing against Dark_Mousy in my initial block. He was using MSF Wyvang Dragooon BD145RDF (I believe), and I was using MF Diablo Kerbecs BD145RF. The score was tied 2-2. We start the final battle, and I immediately call Reshoot Clause because my Beyblade did not launch properly ... however, right after that, Dark_Mousy's combo was somehow KOed. Needless to say, we re-did the match because I had called Reshoot just before he was KOed, and I of course lost LOL.

I had two more losses after that, once again to Dark_Mousy–that time against a Stamina combo with my MSF Genbull Genbull F230CF–and another to Stars' MF-L Phantom Cygnus 85MF by a score of 3-2. Stars really ended up dominating this tournament, going 10-1. Everyone else had at least a few losses like I did.

This was definitely an amazing tournament. And it was arguably more competitive than the championship on the following day due to the higher concentration of competitive Bladers. These were the blocks, if any of you are interested:

BEYBLADE REVOLUTION: WBO North American Championship - 5/25/13 - Zero-G Format
1st: stormscorpio1 - MF Duo Aquario SA165BWD / MSF-H Girago Dragooon F230GCF / MSF-H Reviser Dragooon SA165TB
2nd: JesseObre - MF-F Duo Aquario B:D / MF-F Duo Aquario SA165BWD / MSF-H Reviser Dragoon SA165BWD
3rd: Yuko Ray14 - Girago Dragooon F230GCF / MF-L Duo Saggitario 2 SA165BWD / Reviser Dragooon SA165EWD

Honestly, I was slightly disappointed about how generally conservative everybody was in this tournament. There were a few Bladers using Attack that I am aware of, such as Pockyx3, who made it to the finals (Top 8), but there was a lot of Stamina, and a lot of Duo vs. Dragooon combos. I'm not condemning anyone for taking that approach, as I can understand it given the magnitude of the tournament, but it was disappointing nevertheless. I wanted to use Attack myself, but I became more conservative as my losses started to pile up haha.

In any case, though some of the battles did become boring and excessively long, it was interesting to see how Duo Stamina combos, B:D Stamina combos, and F230CF/GCF Stamina combos interacted with each other, given how prevalent they were. This aspect of the Zero-G metagame is going to become very important, I predict. One part which surprised me, and which led to my first loss against Primus was TB. I was using MSF Genbull Genbull F230CF, and he was using MSF-H Reviser Dragooon SA165TB. Prior to this tournament, I had basically written TB off due to how bad it's balance is, but it is because of that bad balance that it is somehow able to outspin F230CF. I was shocked by how well it worked, to say the least. I'm sure some of you, besides Primus and stormscorpio1 already knew about this, but I certainly did not! Haha.

And finally, for anybody wondering, the final battle ended with a 3-2 score. stormscorpio1 used MSF-H Girago Dragooon F230GCF, and after a pep talk by me (which consisted of saying "yolo" multiple times), JesseObre agreed to use Attack and I gave him MSF-L Wyvang Dragooon SA165 (Attack Mode) GCF. The final, fifth round was so sick; just wait until you see the video.
Why zero g format? and is f230 good?

Why not ZERO-G Format? We did Standard Format the previous day, and besides, a North American Championship should reflect who the best Bladers are today. The best way to gauge that is to play in the newest format/stadiums we have available.

That much should be clear!
That Girago Dragooon F230GCF was my combo, stormscorpio_1 even admitted to "stealing" it from me lol.
Its rather well known in NC how well TB pwrforms. I started the trend in Richmond a while back.

Is its use limited to countering F230CF/GCF?

I use it for more then just that. Its amazing against Sway KO. Id classify it a balance tip. Similar to MB in certain ways. Its top tier. Just didn't post about it because of BR. Right spin TB variants do tend to have a problem with Dragooon BD variants from my personal testing.

Yeah, I figured it would be decent against sway as well. Although, I'd just be wary of using it blindly because of how prevalent BWD/B:D Stamina combos are.

Thanks for posting the results. Those are some pretty cool combos that were used in both tournaments. Was there a lot of BWD combos at BR? I'm wondering because all the winners used it.
I'm disappointed that no one used GF in the BB-10.
Why? It really hasn't had much testing as it should. In my opinion though, it's a great bottom.

Haha Yuko, SS1 stole your combo! (And look what place he got using it XD) Thanks Kei for posting the results.

GF is actually harder than it looks lol. TBH I would use it if i can use it properly or master it,

False! I started F230 back at the Richmond tournament I went to.

I would have used it further but I haven't been able to get to tournaments lately

Yeah, I know a lot of people who are scared of it self-koing. On top of that, most people tend to stay away from very aggressive beyblades during tournaments. (As shown right here in this thread XD)
@ Kei
I believe that if we had cardboard that sway attack would have been used more often. The carpet made it so that the stadium would have minimal to no sway. The stadium stuck to the carpet. If we would have laid down the cardboard the stadium would had more movement and I would have used a lot more attack type beys, but it would not have made sense to try and sway if the stadium wouldn't go anywhere.
While I do agree with your argument, I think this would have been the perfect chance to use GF and lower your risk of self KO'ing, I would have used GF but mine snapped ;(
