RATCHETS AND CLANKS! - 09/16/23
Toronto, ON, Canada - X Format - Unranked 3on3

This time we decided to do something different and do a 3on3 Match Type for both stages of the event. It was enjoyable, and I think good practice for the Format's "main" Match Type. Unfortunately no gazebo structure for us to play in today.

Keeping with the theme of the day we did the same Match Type for both first and final stage, with the Match Type decided on by a vote. Unfortunately they really didn't like us in the gazebo... the uneven terrain and no tape for stadium security made match-to-match gameplay a little wonky.

Hey, there’s a Guilty in there though!
Honestly, I actually like equalization and stamina v stamina matchups, but that’s just me. I know it’s an unpopular opinion. With that being said, there is actually a lot of attack in our meta, and we have seen some pretty solid winning streaks from attack players in the last couple events. At this particular event there were even two people soloing guilty in the prelims. One of them was switching the Guilty combo up in every matchup, and even got a win with Guilty on High Wave’.

We are all just out here finding what works best for us though right? It’s all in good fun.

Right, you are free to host and play however you like. I run two events on saturday at 1pm and 4pm. 1pm is either x or bst and 4pm is a legacy format. This means I have to finish up the first event in 3 hours or less so I have to ban drifts for the sake of time and usually lend attack/defense combos to new players. Also, we typically play as the same time others are playing TCG games like one piece or yugioh on the other side of the room. And when they watch our stamina matches in bst they comment on how boring it seems and lose interest in trying beyblade. So I make these adjustments to encourage them to try it out.

You should see when I switch my HXt+’ to attack mode, then the real party starts.
