I had picked up Neptune Armed Zephyr literally just before the tournament started from 1234beyblade and shot it a few times. I liked what I was seeing in how it moved when banked, so in the finals of the tournament I decided to throw together VFZ against 1234beyblade. I haven't tested it a lot, but I like how Force sits on Valkyrie; I feel like it's possible for the Disk to contact the opposing Beyblade. I thought it would have a chance against OHD and maybe Deathscyther Spread Accel (I figured it might have more Stamina than Xtreme or Accel, which I thought might be key against him using Deathscyther Spread Accel), but 1234beyblade at that point had decided to start using different combos for the hell of it, and completely baffled me with his use of Xcalibur Heavy Needle haha. I was able to win via KOs fairly easily if I remember correctly.

A few matches later I used it against pyrus10000 because I had seen him using Odin Heavy Accel earlier. I was able to win that battle 3-2, and maybe could have won it by a larger margin if I had launched more confidently in the first couple rounds. I was still a little unsure of the combo at that point.

Yep metagame has totally changed and it was very fun and also very aggravating at times. Combos were bursting left right and centre and even at the last second.

Zephyr performs very well when against Xtreme combos, especially when tornado stalling and for some reason my launches with Needle caused very aggressive movement compared to @[ClaraM]. Is that normal?

VHN with the yellow RBV2 Valkyrie was christened "Ben's Weird Combo" and the "Lemon", even though I said this combo was listed in the tentative Burst Tier List lol. Anyway lots of fun and extremely challenging without Odin. Now everything is back to simple chance and hoping you picked the better combo (although at times this still didn't work out Grin )

I believe we may have been the second or first tournament after the Odin Ban?
With a harder launch, it's definitely no a surprise Needle is aggressive. Tongue_out Congratulations everyone!

This was an amazing tournament. My stalker combo went undefeated. The only combo that lost of mine was NHD. This was amazing!
I'm going to assume you placed first and ZachBob placed 2nd, seeing that VFX combo, haha.

Congratulations to the placers, and congratulations on winning, Jonah! Smile

Correct assumption, Hato. And quite astute Grin

Jonah also won the shard of Amaterios today with 11 straight wins! Only lost in round one to Ingulit. Ingulit had 10 consecutive wins until the finals, it was really close. Congrats, everyone!

Congrats to the placers in London today as well!

Thanks Zach, and congrats to you guys and the peeps over in Maryland! I'm sure @[Stars] will post here soon Grin

As for us, @[Balance Blader] won the Shard with 6 wins (only 9 of us tho). This is his second shard... Only one left for him! Oh no! Gasp He's not giving anyone else a chance! Grin

Very cool lists. Definitely the impact of banning OHD is immediately noticeable. Would love to know if the participants considered that impact to be an improvement, though Smile
Without a doubt. In the previous tourney pretty much everyone who had it spammed OHD. There was a much greater variety this time although it wasn't just because of that (since people now had Extreme and RB2 parts like Needle and Zepyhr too)
Deathsyther definitely was the most used in AAA. I think Xtreme was pretty risky.
@[jonahblader13] and @[Balance Blader], do DHZ was more prone to burst then DRZ? i think it should be harder to KO compared to DRZ due to added weight

You'd be surprised at how successful Xtreme is. With enough practice, it would be easy to KO stationary combos. I didn't use it at our tournament since I haven't practiced it yet, but other people did quite well with it, despite not many people achieving flower patterns.
I have no Idea. I don't own ring but my DHZ OSed DHD twice and bursted it once.

My Valkyries aren't that good and Xcalibur hasn't worked for me. I need more practice

Very interesting day today; I had used Girago Girago/Dragooon E230MB for just about all of my matches, and I could definitely say it's very reliable; not unbeatable, but a safe option no doubt. It has good defense and can destabilize any same-spin stamina. The big player today, however, was Duo, which hadn't been so prominent at Toronto's last Zero-G events.

I definitely like the Zero-G metagame as it stands (or Toronto's, at least). I'd like to keep it this way.
Awesome to see all of these Winning Combos lists? Nice to see Zephyr catching on too.

For anyone that attended Winter's Chill, Amaterios Atlanta Assault, or Mythical Yggdrasil, how did you feel about the Deathscyther Heavy Defense versus Xtreme match-up? Did it happen at all? It looks like it was generally still a force in almost all of the tournaments, but I'm assuming it wasn't as infallible as Odin Heavy Defense was? jonahblader13 said he felt Xtreme was risky–and it is on some level just because it's Attack–but with Odin gone it should be even more potent now in general.

Yup. Just Defense Kei....
I feel like I would have done better had I not used Xtreme at AAA. Most of my losses were with it, And It wasn't by os or launch-out very much, but a lot of self bursts against DHD and DHZ. My first match against Ingulit was VFX vs DHD, Ingulit won 3-2, that was my most fun and exciting battle yesterday regardless. I Should have tried Xcalibur Heavy/Force Xtreme/Accel, it may be better at knocking out and bursting Deathscyther than valkyrie is. Another possibility is that DHD>VFX>OHD and OHD>VHX>DHD. I should also mention that my Valkyrie was in mint condition. It now has 4 uses.

I can't believe no one's commented on this yet. How did this work? What matchups did it have? Did it win any of them? I'm guessing it was Rubber Down + Boost Mode and it like pinched 165-height opponents to death?

I'm also starting to think my Deathscyther might just be a dud, since it has always Burst super easily for me, but no one else seems to get it to Burst very often...

lol i haven't noticed it. @[Sniper] really how it performed? also did you really used it [or used it against noob combo?]
I didn't get to face it with anything but Dragoon F230. It worked but yet it didn't somehow. But stars has it wrong. It was F230 not E230.

Interesting. That certainly says something about the tournament, I would think. Seeing that list would lead me to believe that a lot of people were using Attack, but failing. Especially considering the people in second and first don't have any Attack combos listed.

Sometimes I have wondered if the two point Burst Finish rule the WBBA uses would be worth experimenting with in an "unofficial" WBO tournament to see how people felt about it. When I was in Japan it felt fair when using Attack, but being victim to a Burst Finish while your opponent is using Stamina and you are using Stamina felt cruel because it sometimes felt random and they were given two points as if they had done something special. Or maybe we give one point for Burst Finish and Spin Finish, but two for KOs. Anyways, just a thought.

But thanks for the insight! I did most of my testing before Beyblade Shogatsu against Odin Heavy Defense, so testing to see how Valkyrie and Xcalibur perform against Deathscyther specifically seems necessary for sure.
