My launch just isn't strong enough for OHD to be effective, especially against other OHD. D:

what qhd mean
It's how people are referring to Burst combinations - OHD = Odin Heavy Defense.

Wait, stock Dragoon G only? Hard to believe that, of all things, won
I can totally believe it. Dragoon G can be quite powerful if you nail the opening hits. I've heard of it winning Japanese events in the plastics era as well.
Assuming it went against that Seaborg 2 AR on a SeaBorg base (I assume), no wonder it would win.
Wound Engine gear or na? Dragoon G is pretty recoily. The AR is fine, but in combination with that base it becomes bleh. But if went against Attack, yeah I'm sure it won.

Even though there's a ton of Odin on the list, Deathscyther Heavy Defense was definitely the big player today. It's hard to say whether or not it's better than OHD for stamina though. When playing Bey Brad today, his OHD was able to beat my DHD 3-0. It seems like it ultimately comes down to who has the better launch.
Ring also seems like an interesting one! I got mine today and I'm really looking forward to doing further testings!
Really interesting tournament today! My experience with WARI-BEY during my trip to Japan came into play quite early after I lost with Odin Heavy Defense against Ragnaruk ? Accel and decided to make the switch to Deathscyther Heavy Defense for the rest of the event. Maybe it was an overreaction since it was just one battle, but after failing with Odin in Japan versus Deathscyther a couple times, I was a little wary to continue with it after starting the event today 0-1. But Brad did go on to have success with it later in the tournament. Should really do some more formal tests on the Odin Heavy Defense vs. Deathscyther Heavy Defense match-up.
I also used Valkyrie Heavy Accel today and lost both times despite some decent shooting/hits on my opponent, and Brad experienced the same thing against me once ... it really can be frustrating when Valkyrie bursts itself despite you getting what appears to be great, solid hits on the opponent.
Even though he didn't make the finals today, it was interesting to see 1234beyblade have some success with Minoboros ... will have to look into that more once I finally get some time to test the new parts!
And I think Brad's use of Valkyrie Heavy Assault today firmly confirmed for us that it is one of the go-to counters for staller combos using Accel.
So far, the way I'm seeing it, Odin and Deathscyther are almost the new Earth and Burn. Both have similar levels of Stamina where they will go back and forth unless one user's launch is significantly stronger. However, Deathscyther is more accustomed to Stamina/Attack hybrids (evidence being 1234beyblade and others' consistent success with Deathscyther Spread Accel) while Odin is more of a Stamina/Defense hybrid. Was Odin Heavy/Spread Blow capable of Bursting Deathscyther Heavy Defense at all? Or would something like that require a 1234beyblade/Zoroaste level launch?
As for Ring, I had a feeling it would end up on the Deathscyther Staller at some point due to it's outward weight distribution and comparable Stamina to Spread. I can't test mine until the 25th, but do you think it is superior to Spread for mobile Stamina?
And what happens when the Stallers themselves start using Assault?
Quote:Was Odin Heavy/Spread Blow capable of Bursting Deathscyther Heavy Defense at all?
I had went 2-2 yesterday using Odin Heavy/Spread Blow.
In round robin, I had used Odin Heavy Blow to beat Suntailhawk's Odin Heavy Survive and BAWB18's Kerbeus Heavy Survive. I did however, lose to Kei using Odin Spread Blow. In my first match of the day, knowing Kei's use of OHD and also knowing OSB can almost consistently out-spin it, I had tried my luck with it. It could have easily been Kei's launch, but from what I experienced yesterday, OSB just can't out-spin DHD.
Still making it to the semi-finals even after that loss, I had made a what was at the time a pretty uneducated decision against Bey Brad and decided to go for OSB, running the risk of him going for Valkyrie Attack. He did and I lost 3-1 that match.

I think @[1234beyblade] easily has the most experience with Ring and Deathscyther stall in general. What do you think about Ring? I think for a lot of us Toronto bladers including Kei and I, it is kind of hard to say. I'll definitely do some testings later in the week, though. Thanks for mentioning this.
EDIT: Even after all these new releases, I'm still real happy to say that Wyvern still remains what is probably the best option for defense in the game. It is, however, far less versatile than Odin Heavy Defense and other combos.
One thing that I hadn't mentioned already is that I used a Light Launcher + Long Winder for everything other than Valkyrie Heavy Accel, where accuracy was more important than speed.

FWIW, I am not convinced that Deathscyther Heavy Defense has better stamina than Odin Heavy Defense.
Quote:And what happens when the Stallers themselves start using Assault?
Assault has significantly worse stamina than Accel, so that's a tradeoff that Bladers will have to decide is worth it or not. Deathscyther Ring Assault, for example, would have gotten me nowhere. (I don't actually have concrete data on Ring Vs. Spread in this scenario, though. I was just trying it out.)

The results are the same as the last plastic event (Beta Generation) haha, with the same combos... Thought this time there were many guys who used attack types (some that could destabilize tall combos) and it wasn't easy to beat em. Rest others used Wolborg 4 combos, bearing core combos etc
MFB Standard Format (we got 14 members) -> Block Round Robin Format, same as before
Quote:MFB Format:
I'll explain how i chose the members for each block for the Block Round Robin Format.
I first cut a sheet of paper into 15 small 'cheats'/'bits'.
Each piece of paper had the numbers(in alphabets)1-15(since we had 15 participants) written on it and folded in a manner with which the numbers would not be visible.
Then, we asked all 15 members to choose a cheat randomly. After that was done, we added them into blocks; Block A, Block B, Block C ...
Block A had numbers from 1-4 and 13. Block B had numbers 5-8 and 14, Block C had numbers 9-12 and 15.
Suppose a member got the number 6, he would belong to the B block, if 10 then C block and so on.
