So, the quite popular Japanese title by Atlus, maker of awesome games such as Persona and the whole Shin Megami Tensei series, is officially coming to North America, I know this through a cute little trailer that was posted on their Youtube account.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a69nmiAv...ture=feedu

I lost my voice, after shrieking like an excited fangirl so much (Seriously, both Tales of Graces Æ’ AND Catherine are coming? I must be dreaming)

What do you guys think? Does it look like something you'd like to check out?

EDIT: Also, the original Japanese trailer is slightly longer and has voices, probably implying that they're still picking up the casting.
ummm
DEFINITELY NOT
for young people
it it 18+ game?
Don't worry.

Kissing is just about the worst thing that we actually see in this game. They still want to sell, of course XD

Of course, there's scary stuff, and if that's your problem, then yes, you should stay away from the game.
it's set for release, July 26th 2011

heh i was actually going to post a link about this, but the site that i got it from isn't exactly child friendly. . . :p

Thanks for the info, pal! I didn't know that XD

I've gotta start saving up mah moola.
I saw something about this game in GameInformer a few issue's ago. It was a screen shot for the game. I guess this kinda explains what it was for...

What's this game even about anyway? It's not very clear to me.

Well, to put it simply...

Vincent, our protagonist, is an ordinary salary-man who feels kinda unaccomplish and overall unhappy with his life, despite the fact that he has a loving, caring girlfriend, named Katherine, who's also pregnant with his child. One day, he wakes up with a younger, cuter girl in his bed, a girl called Catherine (Coincidence?) He is then thrown in nightmares of unimaginable horrors in which death in the dream is death in real life, too. Therefore, he is forced to face the twisted reality that awaits him in the dream world.

For a Silent Hill fan like me, this sounds like fun =D

It has full sex scene(s) in there apparently.

Seriously though, this game just gets sexier and sexier (excluding the weird monster things...) and the Protagonist's hair reminds me off the dude from Cowboy Bebop..

Well well, that's a new one, for me.

I guess I should have seen it coming, with the 'M for Mature' tag XD

Also, those are some pretty creepy monsters XD Along with the giant-fork using hands in the demo of the game.
Sorry, but I've already got Tetris.
I'm hoping that there's more gameplay than just what you refer to as 'Tetris' XD
Troy Baker posted on his Facebook Page that he is the voice of Vincent!
And that video content is coming soon.

My guess is that they just finished getting a voiced trailer together.

I am excited for this game, from some impressions/reviews, it sounds like the Visual Novel sections are really, really good. (And I love a good Visual Novel).
But the puzzle sections are really hard, so Atlus is going to release a patch that tones that down a bit. (The NA release will probably have that right from the get-go)
yeah apparently the game is devilish difficult, even on standard or easy settings.
Actually, I have played the Japanese Demo, thanks to my ever-useful Japanese PSN account, and it's really not that hard. Once you get used to it, it's a breeze.

Also, Troy Baker as Vincent is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!! He proved that he was good with roles like Yuri from Tales of Vesperia and Snow from Final Fantasy XIII (Actually, he was one of the three only voice actors that I could bear with, in this game) so I'm sure he'll turn in a good performance.
So, apparently, many of the songs in the Catherine OST are remixes of classical music, like Bach's Little Fugue in G Minor.

This is like a combination of everything I love. Atlus + Classical + Awesome Voice Actors = Catherine. My dream has come true.

I really shouldn't be surprised. Almost everything Shoji Meguro makes is great.

EDIT: There are many originals, of course, but the remix got my attention.
Sorry for the double-post, but this is a pretty interesting news.

Catherine (The 22 years-old little blonde, not Katherine) will apparently be voiced by Laura Bailey.

That's a good thing, if you ask me, because she's got a great acting-range. From the calm, cool voice of Halibel from Bleach to the spunky happy-go-lucky Rise from Persona 4. She has confirmed it on her Facebook page in criptic, odd messages, just like Troy Baker did.

Speaking of which, Troy Baker also voiced a main character, in Persona 4. Wonder if they'll use more of those voice actors (Not that it would be a bad thing, they're all really good)
Sorry for triple-post, but yet another cast member has been revealed.

Katherine McBride, Vincent's girlfriend, will be voiced by Michelle Ruff.

I'm really glad, because I know she'll do a great job.

EDIT: There are no sources stating that, yet, but that's what Wikipedia says. If this turns out not to be true, I blame that.

EDIT 2: I have a source, but a vague one. Apparently, Miss Ruff confirmed she was Katherine herself, during some podcast to raise donations for Japan. However, the podcast wasn't recorded Uncertain I'm hoping this isn't just some wild rumor.

This. Right here.

I think they even hinted on it in Persona 3 Portable, where he appears on both MC's and FeMC's stories in the bar.

IIRC, Catherine is sort of a horrific puzzle game, right? Totally lost points from me because I hate puzzles. But I kinda wanna try this...
I've played the Japanese demo. They're not hard puzzles (At least not in the demo)

I hear they get much harder, later on, but it's apparently gonna come with that "Super Easy" mode, so the hardness(?) shouldn't be a problem.
Hate to double-post, but this is kinda...intriguing.

Frist of all, I read some details about that Super Easy Mode. Basically, if you accept the patch, retry pillows are now worth three retries on easy difficulty, two retries on normal and one on hard (As opposed to always being worth only one retry on every difficulty) and, by pressing the Select (Or Back, for the 360) button, you can generate a 'Power Drink' once per stage that will allow Vincent to go all crazy on us and be able to climb through three blocks at a time, as opposed to just one, which probably makes the stages horribly easy.

Also, for a few days, now Erin Fitzgerald is listed as the voice of the character Erica Anderson, on Wikipedia, but I have yet to find a single source to confirm this. It would be somewhat appropriate, considering Erica's personnality.

Does anyone know anything about Fitzgerald being in the cast?
Well, this seems like it would be a good game since it has a lot that I like, animation, weirdness, puzzles and so on. To tell you the truth, the puzzles can't be that hard and if they don't change each time (depending on what the puzzles really are) then it would be even easier, since you would know the solutions and go through it easier the next time round. It would be a lot better if they changed all the time though. Smile
Good news, guys!

Erin Fitzgerald, whom some of you may know as Fon Master Ion from Tales of the Abyss, Sakubo from .hack//G.U and something in Polly Pockets (Which I don't care about) will be voicing Erica in Catherine, as well as another character named Trisha. I had trouble finding a good source (Or any source at all, really) but she confirmed it to me herself, via her Facebook page.

I'll never say anything bad about Facebook again!
Okay, so Atlus just posted a video of the answers they got for a little contest they were running on Youtube (Basically, you answered either you wanted to get married or not and explained why) and it also includes bits of english voice acting at the end!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umTwE9h02...ture=feedu

Sounds great, if you ask me. You can even hear the voice of one of Vincent's bar friend, in there, but I can't recognize who exactly it is, although it sounds horribly familiar.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/stray-...ine/713879

the voice acting actually seems pretty decent.
i think the guy next to the guy with the blue shirt fits in the best so far.
