Hello everyone,

My name is Jordan and I used to play with classic beyblades when I was in middle school. I used to battle against my friends in class, lunch, and in the hallways; they were a blast. Now I am in college and haven't played with beyblades in a while. Recently my manufacturing professor asked me to create a project for a group of students that attend a middle school near my college. I figured it would be both fun and educational if they were to create a custom beyblade design and then I would manufacture an actual beyblade for them. They could then battle each other and trade parts.

Before I can begin anything I need to do some basic research on beyblades. I know that the metal fusion beyblades are the newest thing in the beyblade world, but I would like to focus on the classic ones. The trouble I am having right now is trying to find an engineering drawing of a classic beyblade. I need to ensure that all the parts are interchangeable and that I can use the beyblade "spinner" on my custom beyblade.

Do you guys have any resources that could help me?
I do know that you'll have to have some knowledge on molding plastics. try googlein how to make a mold for plastics and find some hobby shop that sells some plastic soulution. That could be a start. thats the step i'm at with my custom blades lol. hope it helps.
I do have some knowledge on molding. I'm thinkning about designing the attack ring and base on solidworks and then buying the weights seperately. The spin gear will not be modified, I will make a mold of it and see if that works. If that doesnt work I will purchase the spin gear seperately as well.

My main concern is measuring the center of the attack ring and designing it on solidworks, it has to be perfect or else I wont be able to spin the beyblade.
MFB beyblades would be easier to do, but you will also need to do some metal molding.
.......How would you go about doing that?!
I think plastic beyblades would be easier and safer, sand casting would require molten metal which isn't very pleasant if it lands on skin. I will keep you guys up to date on how the project is going. I should start soon.
