I'd never have to worry, if the council maintained the drains outside our house. In the storm before the last WA Cyclone (that didn't actually hit me), I had to go out, while sick, in the rain, and use a hoe to unblock the drains to prevent our neighbours property from flooding (they were out). We phoned the council, but nothing's happened.
Our whole house flooded in that storm last year, which was just wonderful. All the drains link to one master drain, so if that gets blocked or overloaded, then yeah, we flood. We're on the slope of a hill, quite well inland. This shouldn't happen. But yeah, thanks council.

Can someone explain to me how the "Your Favorite [insert anime or video game title] Character" threads are not spam? I've checked and I don't see any worthwhile discussions, just people with half-assed responses of why they like a character. "I like Goku best because he's cool and can go super saiyan!" A post like that does not tell me anything that makes Goku special to you, and also doesn't promote any worthwhile discussion, it just lists some reasons why X character from Y anime is your favorite. It would be one thing if the threads discussed character flaws or something but they don't.
My guess is that it'd be way too long to close all those boring threads.
But what do I know.

i think there should be a subforum in the media section for anime, kinda annoying for to visit the media forum for those of us who don't like anime when 99% of the threads are anime-related

I've been closing a lot of them before they ever even have a chance to get started, but the rate of threads like that being created is too much for me to keep up with.

Oh god, the price of petrol is killing my wallet at the moment and it looks like the prices are just going to increase in the UK. I heard it's dirt cheap in the US and must be the why the majority have big cars.

Arrogance gets you far socially sometimes. It's a shame it's like that, but I guess that's just how it is. You gotta know when you're right and wrong though.

Pikachao, Arrogance doesn't get you very far, as long as we assume arrogance implies it's unwarranted. It's the fact others read it as confidence that gets you far. Very few people like someone that comes off to them as arrogant.

I like a girl as in I think I REALLY like her. As in (not to go too far) I think she is the most amazing person in the world. We are really good friends and we get along well and she's really nice and sweet........and hot.

Today I'm meeting like 100 people in some huge park for a party, then going nottingham the next day to sleep over with people, then another big party of about 50 people back near my house. Then I have to go play tennis the next day after that. I think I'm actually going to die this weekend.
