Want to hear what you do in this situation
smile tilt my head look cute hold back tears then trash the present few seconds later
Put my hands in my pocket, stick up the finger, and say "Carp you Santa! Carp you to Hell Kerbex!" That's only when I don't get a gaming system anywhere.
Hehhe act likw I like the gift(i already no what I got I snuck and saw everything I only got one thing I want counter leone the rest just cloths)then wen I get home leave it all in the bag and play with the stuff I like
I just put a sad face on, to show them that they failed
I say thank you.Might not necessarily use it, but generally they've tried.

They didn't have to buy anything, nor was I entitled to anything. I'm pretty sure you all are in the same boat.

This.

Everyone eventually gets a gift that they may not like or want, but that doesn't change the fact you should be grateful the person who gave it to you was thoughtful enough to give you a gift in the first place!

Remember, it's the thought that counts. Wink

Pretty much this. I don't even celebrate Christmas. I tell all my friends that I don't want gifts, so if they get me something, I just accept it. Complaining about a gift, any gift, is one of the most selfish things I can think of.
I agree with Daegor..i get clothes most of the time but i never complained that it is ugly or anything...plus there are people out there that don't even have gifts...like Toys for Tots
Man you guys are deep

it's not about being deep, more about not being a moron
yeah man u have 2 be respectful and thankful for what you already have. there are millions(yes millions) of people in america who are suffering just to make it through the day and its even worse during christmas. even with the food banks and everything people are still suffering.

I was going to say selfish, but that works too.
just think, 98% are in poverty in america and even more around the world. Thank God that you have family and loved ones at all and that they care about you enough to give you a present. im just saying that the next time you get a crappy gift, think of how lucky you guys really are. just saying.

I'm pretty sure the poverty line isn't that high.

EDIT: It's more like 13%.
just think, 98% are in poverty in america and even more around the world.is a false statement
Hmmmm...

What I do is be thankful for what I got and try to use it in some way. I don't want them to waste their money even if it was worth 10 pence.
UNLEASH THY COOKIE FURY AND GO SPAZZ ATTACK Argh!

How dare they give me a bad gift Smithicide

EDIT: I don't get gifts for christmas because we don't celebrate it.

I will Uncertain

If it can be for other situations, then I accept it politely, and keep it only to be given to the salvation army, sold on ebay or broken. There is one occasion when I received a present from my tutor, broke it because i got frustrated (it was a puzzle, and i couldnt solve it) and then she asked me to bring it so i could solve it with my friend who I learn under... She has a bad memory though ;]

Littlechipz is like that on many other threads, Khel.
When I receive a bad gift, well I just accept it and say thank you. I can't believe you guys actually do these things.
if i ever get a bad gift i just try really hard to look happy i mean what else can you do ...

I used to be naive enough to think this. Trust me, age isn't a determining factor in how horrible people can be.

I just be happy about it and thank them for the gift, smile and everything, although I am one to believe that people should ask what you want or give money. I only buy a specific gift for someone if they have told me that is what they want. Otherwise it's just a card with money in pretty much. I'm not going to act disrespectful because of what someone gave me for free though. Smile
When receiving 'disappointing' presents, such as a McDonald's Happy Meal toy, I would thank that person in a relatively cheerful tone, then immediately change the subject with something along the lines of "I like apples." in order to avoid further discussion on the disappointment.

Seriously though, I thank the person and appreciate his or her effort in getting/making the present.
If me... I'll just look at it and find a place to keep it. Simple. Just show no expression.
