I beleive this topic should be closed once we get a confirmed answer :L

I'd like to know why a mod or staff member hasn't put up Google AdSense, with the amount of traffic the WBO is getting, i'm expecting its going to get alot of funding, that way we can have more prizes for tournaments, giveaways and hosting this site ^^ Hopefully someone shares my point. In regards to the Android App Thread, if someone would like I can encode one Wink
"ads aren't cool" (the social network) and i assume this is a non-profit making community.

also why support ads? i seriously get annoyed with them and i'm sure its the same with MANY people as well.
the community is great because there are no ads. i still understand your point though.
Same here, but another ad another dollar Wink

It still will be a non prfit org because we get beys ^^
Unless the thought process has changed since I left then I can answer this. Generally most of us find ads intrusive and take away from the web layout. While I'm sure the admin would like extra cash to fund activities generally it's not the preferred option of getting it.

That's why things such as the Passport system were developed. It was a means to find alternate funding. Getting the users involved to help finance the community in a way that delivered significantly more value to them instead of ads.
I've got an idea. Why not make a .webs.com site or a free website that we link to here in a thread. that way, this site = clean free site = ugly o_0

you really think so?.. i find sites WITH ads atrocious to look at, ESPECIALLY with all the pop-ups.
yeah, but at least this site wont be contaminted. all we do is make a thread, link that site click on the ad, all our problems solved Uncertain Ofcourse, we can always close this. Not pointing at anyone in particulr when I am. Mods, wither lock or close this please

It is exactly this.

Before, there was absolutely no entry fee, no Blader Passport; everybody could participate (and cheat) in the Beypoint System, everybody could freely play in tournaments, etc. However, Brad was paying everything out of his own pocket. He considered placing adds eventually because it was unacceptable that he had to pay everything by himself, however everybody agreed that it would just disfigure this website and this organisation. He therefore introduced the tournament entry fee and the Blader Passport as a compromise for those who would find the five-dollar entry fee too high for a certain of events in a year.
