I don't know if anyone else remembers this, but years ago Hasbro posted a FAQ section on their website to refute the claims that myself and other members of the Beyblade community had laid against them. While it was impressive that we were able to provoke such a reaction, it was unfortunately pretty useless. Check it out:

Question: Why can't Hasbro make the same high quality BEYBLADE toys as Takara?
Answer: Providing safe, fun toys is our top priority at Hasbro. While we manufacture our BEYBLADE line the same quality, care and precision as Takara, the quality standards to which we must adhere are different than those in Japan often resulting in a slightly different product assortment.

Question: Why doesn't the Metal Driger have a Heavy Metal Core?
Answer: We designed our Metal Driger top with an Engine Gear core, giving it superior speed and overall higher performance.

Question: Why did you go and change the name "Gaia Dragoon" to "Strata Dragoon"? I liked Gaia Dragoon better.
Answer: Due to overseas trademark issues, it sometimes becomes necessary for us to alter the names of our BEYBLADE tops in the U.S.

Question: Why is it that BEYBLADE tops never seem to fit into the HMS launchers?
Answer: The HMS series is a special BEYBLADE system. Because of the unique design, only HMS BEYBLADEs can be used with HMS BEYBLADE launchers.
Release Dates

Question: Why did Hasbro choose to release EG and HMS BEYBLADE tops before the G2 and V2 series?
Answer: G2 and V2 are part of the V-Force series of which we have released a significant amount of product. To ensure that fans have the lastest, most innovative gear that reflects current programming, we chose to make Engine Gear and the Hard Metal System the focus of our fall product line.

Question: Why are you releasing Season 3 tops long before Season 3 has even begun? Seems like you guys are always rushing your releases.
Answer: Our fresh new line up of Season 3 BEYBLADE toys will give our dedicated collector base a sneak preview of the new and exciting story lines that are in store for Season 3. We always do our best to satisfy the heavy demand from collectors for new and exciting BEYBLADE toys and accessories.

Question: Are you planning on introducing popular Japanese BEYBLADE toys like Ariel and Gabriel?
Answer: Yes. You can expect to see both Ariel and Gabriel tops late this year or early in 2005.

Question: Why can't Hasbro introduce its BEYBLADE tops in the same manner as Takara?
Answer: The difference in retail environments between the U.S. and Japan often directly affects the manner and timing in which BEYBLADE toys are released.
BEYBLADE Stadiums

Question: What's the problem with Hasbro's Beystadium? The stadium slopes are incorrect and the pockets really mess up my plan of attack.
Answer: There are no problems with Hasbro's Beystadiums; they are simply built differently than Takara's. The number of square inches of the playing surface of Hasbro's Beystadium is actually the same as Takara's. Our Beystadium penalty pockets are designed to provide an added challenge during BEYBLADE battles.

Question: Will Hasbro be adding a Tornado Ridge to its Beystadiums?
Answer: While there are no firm plans at this time to build our Beystadiums with a Tornado Ridge, it is something we are looking into for the future.

Question: My EG is too small for the Beystadium and doesn't work properly.
Answer: Hasbro's EG BEYBLADE tops were designed -- and have been tested -- to perform well in our current Beystadiums. Hasbro EG BEYBLADE tops are actually the same size as Takara's.
Tournaments

Question: What's the problem with Hasbro's BEYBLADE tournaments?
Answer: We wanted to provide kids with opportunities to meet other BEYBLADE fans and compete in a fun setting so we worked with Toys "R" Us to create "Rip Zone" events. In the end, the choice to hold these events were up to individual store managers. While many were held each month with hundreds of kids participating, we were disappointed that some stores opted not to hold the events.

Question: Why can't they be more competitive and better organized like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic the Gathering tournaments?
Answer: Organized tournament play requires a considerable amount of resources, which are not available to us. Instead, Hasbro has devoted all of its time and energy into developing innovative BEYBLADE gear and keeping a fresh supply at retail that we hope kids will enjoy.

Question: Will you bring back the play zone events?
Answer: At this time, we do not have plans to resume the TRU Rip Zone events.

Question: Why can't there be a tournament for kids 15 and older?
Answer: The official BEYBLADE tournaments are designed for 8-14-year-olds, which are the core BEYBLADE user. While we do not have an official BEYBLADE tournament for kids ages 15 and older at this time, our BEYBLADE Free Play Zone, held at all BBA sanctioned events, is open to older kids where they can compete against one another or just play for fun.

Question: Why aren't HMS tops allowed at BBA tournaments?
Answer: HMS tops are not available in all countries and are therefore not permitted in tournament play.

Question: When will you begin shipping HYPERBLADE BEYBLADE tops?
Answer: Special Edition HYPERBLADE BEYBLADE tops are scheduled to begin shipping in Spring, 2004. We will then release new HYPERBLADE BEYBLADE tops periodically throughout the remainder of the year. Look for the tops in the gold packaging! Please visit www.beyblade.hasbro.com often for the latest product information.

Question: How do I obtain replacement parts for my BEYBLADE?
Answer: You may send an email requesting the parts you need. When writing be sure to let us know the following:

Name of the BEYBLADE top.
When you purchased or received the product.
The parts that are needed.
Product UPC code, if available.
You may submit an email by clicking here or by calling 800-327-8264.

Question: If I use a MAGNACORE BEYBLADE, with a magnetic BEYSTADIUM, in a battle against an ordinary BEYBLADE, will I have an unfair advantage?
Answer: This will depend if the BEYSTADIUM is set up with the magnets underneath. If there are magnets underneath, they could be placed so they influence which direction the magnetic top will go. A top without magnets will not be affected.

Question: What is the difference in the BEYBLADE Stadiums?
Answer: Each BEYBLADE stadium has a unique slope for added play value. No two stadiums are ever the same. Each inner bowl is uniquely designed.
Haha oh wow, I also found my response, written September 2, 2004 (over four years ago!):

Reply to Hasbro's Q&A by Tamer Brad

Recently, Hasbro updated their Beyblade page with a Q&A, which can be found here. One thing it does show is that they are listening to us.

The other thing it shows is that they're full of it and still don't get the picture.

I've picked out the ones that I think are particularily ridiculous and written my own response to them to show that, indeed, Hasbro is just being full of it.

Q: Why can’t Hasbro make the same high quality Beyblade toys as Takara?

A: Providing safe, fun toys is our top priority at Hasbro. While we manufacture our Beyblade line the same quality, care and precision as Takara, the quality standards to which we must adhere are different than those in Japan often resulting in a slightly different product assortment.

What a joke of an answer. There's no maximum standard. I mean, there's no rule saying, "you can't make a product TOO high quality." This is just a cheap cover.

Q: Why doesn’t the Metal Driger have a Heavy Metal Core?

A: We designed our Metal Driger top with an Engine Gear core, giving it superior speed and overall higher performance.

...do I even have to explain what's wrong here? Yes, a Metal Driger with an Engine Gear will beat a Metal Driger with a Heavy Metal Core, but...where else are we supposed to get that useful core!? Also, you can get that SAME EG in Dranzer G and Driger G. It was stupid and pointless of them to do that. Again, a lame excuse.

Q: Why is it that Beyblade tops never seem to fit into the HMS launchers?

A: The HMS series is a special Beyblade system. Because of the unique design, only HMS Beyblades can be used with HMS Beyblade launchers.

Hey guys, they meant why don't the HMS tops fit the HMS launchers? Pay a bit more attention. And how about answering that question by the way? I'm sure it has something to do with those quality standards you have to adhere too, right? Wink

Q: Why did Hasbro choose to release EG and HMS Beyblade tops before the G2 and V2 series?

A: G2 and V2 are part of the V-Force series of which we have released a significant amount of product. To ensure that fans have the lastest, most innovative gear that reflects current programming, we chose to make Engine Gear and the Hard Metal System the focus of our fall product line.

I'm going to ignore this mysterious and elusive G2 Beyblade you speak of and cut right to the chase; what are you talking about? Significant amount of product? No, it doesn't work like that. You release them in ORDER. That's how it's supposed to go...you release the upgrades! People have been waiting for the V2s forever and you're kind of pissing them off with this. And releasing the V2s would have reflected the current programming...whereas releasing the HMS, which don't even appear until the final battles of G-Revolution, does not really reflect anything but your bad marketing skills.

Q: Why are you releasing Season 3 tops long before Season 3 has even begun? Seems like you guys are always rushing your releases.

A: Our fresh new line up of Season 3 Beyblade toys will give our dedicated collector base a sneak preview of the new and exciting story lines that are in store for Season 3. We always do our best to satisfy the heavy demand from collectors for new and exciting Beyblade toys and accessories.

...how does a toy show any of the show's storyline? And if you are really doing your best, stop screwing around with things and release them properly! I'm a collector. The guy writing this. The people on the boards who are complaining are collectors too. Don't you get it?

Q: What’s the problem with Hasbro’s Beystadium? The stadium slopes are incorrect and the pockets really mess up my plan of attack.

A: There are no problems with Hasbro’s Beystadiums; they are simply built differently than Takara’s. The number of square inches of the playing surface of Hasbro’s Beystadium is actually the same as Takara’s. Our Beystadium penalty pockets are designed to provide an added challenge during Beyblade battles.

Did anyone else reading this start laughing at, "There are no problems with Hasbro’s Beystadiums?" THERE ARE PROBLEMS. We've been over this a thousand times, Hasbro! Do we have to beat it into your thick skull? The square inches don't matter. The slopes are important. The pockets aren't an added challenge; they're a frustration and make pure attack types useless. Thus, the Hasbro Beyblade scene will continue to be based around endurance and balance forever.

Q: Why can’t they be more competitive and better organized like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic the Gathering tournaments?

A: Organized tournament play requires a considerable amount of resources, which are not available to us. Instead, Hasbro has devoted all of its time and energy into developing innovative Beyblade gear and keeping a fresh supply at retail that we hope kids will enjoy.

Not available to you? You're HASBRO. You have all those resources and you're fully aware of that. You're ignoring a whole demographic and...gah, I don't even want to retype that over again. We've been over this tournament thing a thousand times. You're lazy. LAZY LAZY LAZY. Admit it already.

Q: Why can’t there be a tournament for kids 15 and older?

A: The official Beyblade tournaments are designed for 8-14-year-olds, which are the core Beyblade user. While we do not have an official Beyblade tournament for kids ages 15 and older at this time, our Beyblade Free Play Zone, held at all BBA sanctioned events, is open to older kids where they can compete against one another or just play for fun.

We're not the core Beyblade users because you won't let us be. Of course we're not the core...you do absolutely nothing to support an older Beyblade crowd.

This is probably the most unintelligent thing I've ever written. And you know what, I don't care! Weee I don't care one little bit! Would you like to know why? Because I've had it. I've simply had it with those damn ignorant fools at BOTH companies. They're listening to our complaints; they just don't give a damn!

So Hasbro? Nelvana?

!@#$ YOU!!!

WTH G2? Glad to know Hasbro knows stuff about the product they're selling.
Brad addressed pretty much all of the retardedness going on in that FAQ haha

You can't do it anymore, but if you sent them broken Beyblades they would send you replacement Beyblades. You weren't guaranteed to get the same model though, but it was better than having a broken Beyblade.
Yeah. I sent in my broken ACB and got a HB Driger F.

I still feel like this about it today Speechless

These were probably the stupidest answers they could give us. It almost seems like they went out of their way to be retarded.
Hasbro never released G2, an important element to the plastic era. :<
o.O

Were they trying to be funny? This is almost as bad as the guy who said he kept his bey spinning for like 30 mins... =S

26 minutes to be exact
Lol, Hasbro really is that bad. I hope they don't get a hold of MFB or if they do that they learn from their mistakes this time.

but....
Whats the G2 series?
maybe "G2" refers to the series of GT and Zeus. And what exactly is a "hyperblade"???
(Sep. 17, 2008  3:40 AM)Gotruto Wrote: [ -> ]maybe "G2" refers to the series of GT and Zeus. And what exactly is a "hyperblade"???

Recolors that involve a half-and-half color scheme.
Ok thx, I figured thats what they were, why isn't it just called the GT series? That would be easier to remember.
