You have the worst luck with 360s, dude. Try registering the serial number on xbox.com and seeing if you can send it in for an in warranty repair.

My harddrive and actual box have different serial numbers, because when I traded in my old one I kept the harddrive. I can't register it, because I have to fax them the receipt

Seriously? I have two different parts too since I bought mine used. My HDD is Halo 3 edition and my 360 is normal white. I just had to register the serial on MyXbox and if it breaks I can send it in.

Talked to Microsoft, turns out my warranty was up for a year...but they'll give me a 75% discount on repairs ^^

My brother had 3 X-box 360's malfunction IN A ROW!
He just kept on seding them back to microsoft and getting new ones. The 4th one seems to work.

When I go home from college during thanksgiving break, I will beg him to quit playing halo 3 so I can play portal. If he dosn't cooperate I'll throw my life-size companion cube replica at him.
