I want to get Fire Emblem: Awakening sooooo badly. I played the demo (I've never really been invested in the Fire Emblem series) and wowza, it was really fun. Anyone here own it?
I've never been overly fond of the Fire Emblem series myself, but even I'm being kind of drawn in by Awakening; evidently it is an exceptionally well-crafted game even from an objective point of view, and with a casual mode for folks not so into extremely punishing difficulty(which is another thing frequently said about the game - its normal mode difficulty supposedly rivals the harder difficulties of most other titles, and its hard and unlockable extra hard difficulties border on impossible). I'll probably pick it up if I find myself without something interesting to play in the next couple of months.
I'm drawn to Fire Emblem as well, but on my 3DS.

Aha, Fire Emblem: Awakening is in the 3DS. The demo's been out on the shop for a while now.

And to what Hazel said, you're right. The normal mode is pretty difficult (especially for a first time player). But a little challenge never hurt anyone, eh?
Fire Emblem games have a reputation for taking people with the "a little challenge never hurt" mentality and smacking their faces into a brick wall until both are piles of dust; there's a very clear difference between fair challenge and "the game is literally cheating", and the latter is what FE:A does on its harder difficulties. On Normal, it's just rude and deliberately frustrating at times.

Still, I will never stop disliking the permadeath mechanic.
But the permadeath is part of the charm! It's like when people do the Nuzlocke challenge in Pokemon. But, considering I tend to get careless in such games, I think it'd really screw me over big time.
When people say things like "part of the charm", "acquired taste", etc. it really strikes me as a silly way of saying "this is a thing you have to come up with an excuse not to dislike" in most cases; however, in this particular one, it's just a completely polarizing effect we're discussing, not something charming at all.

You either like it, tolerate it, or won't stand for it, and I'm usually in the last group on stuff like this, but I'm also not particularly bad at SRPGs and so forth, despite generally avoiding the genre, and it's the sort of thing that should only bother anyone if they're not proficient at risk management in such situations(ie don't put the guy you spent the entire game building up in a tileset he's going to get three wayed in).

The new double up mechanic is also really effective in easing those risks(and extremely clever doubling is apparently the only way to beat the hardest difficulty, at all, because everything will oneshot all of your dudes all of the time), and it's part of what piqued my interest - I like seeing new things in old franchises that aren't either gamebreaking or total disconnects from theme, and it fits the bill!

I forgot, NoodooSoup. I played the demo on my 3DS, and it's ADDICTING, isn't it?
I started playing a free-to-play game on Steam called Dragon Nest. It's an MMORPG, and the combat is based on a combo system. I am completely in love with it, I've done so much PvP... XD PM if you start playing, I'd love to have a few tag along Grin

Yeah, I've already played it like five times! The cutscenes are so gorgeous, too. (And that masked person? Soooo awesome.) I really like the way the pairing up works, too.
I cant wait for the PS4 and Xbox 720 to be announced! ^-^
Me too! IIRC the PS4 is probably going to come out somewhere around 2014.
There actually both supposed to be announced this year and to come out in fall. PS4 is gonna be announced on the 20th of this month!
Hmf, after playing with the 3DS for awhile, I'm going to have to say that the DS Lite was and is still the best DS in the DS line ever. I mean, its strong, long lasting battery , AND ITS SMALLER. Only IF the 3DS games were compatible with the regular DS system I'd play that thing still it breaks down to sand lol. The 3DS is way too advance for me with the 3DS option on it, bothers my eyes T_T

I don't get why people keep asking this? Obviously it's not going to be compatible, that's like wanting to play a PS3 game on the PS1; they're not the same system and don't have the same hardware. Now, if they remodeled the 3DS to look like the DS Lite (I mean, it already kinda does, besides the obvious additions), that'd be a different story.
Do u think they should make another GTA with Niko in it...?
I'm only on Chapter 5 and perma-death has already lost me two of my members (including my only Mage ;_; ) Mr. Dickinson

I know that bro, can't hurt to dream right? Plus I have tons of old GBA/C games that I would love to play on the 3DS, just for the improved screen and definite visual aspects of it. Now... if they kept the GBA slot imagine the awesomeness of it! DS/3DS Megaman + GBA Megaman = transfer?? Like with pokemon, along with kirby, Zelda, and Super Mario (as well as other games also)

On the other hand, I've been deciding wether to get Zelda OOT, Super Mario Smash Bros 2, or Fire Emblem awakening for a while now... which do you guys prefer?

Well, I don't know which game Super Mario Smash Bros 2 is, so that rules that one out, ha.

Depends, what are you looking for? If you've already played OOT, get Fire Emblem. If not, I'd probably say to get Fire Emblem now for the free DLC that's out for a limited time :B (although, OOT is a really good game, but nothing spectacular has been added, so you could pretty much just get it for download on the Wii Shop for cheaper, too.)
The Walking Dead should come to the Wii U. Looking at the touch controls of the iOS version, Telltale has a huge opportunity with the Wii U.

Looking at the Wii U's sales figures, "huge opportunity" is an overstatement.
After playing my Persona 4 Golden on my Vita for about 3 weeks, I feel like I have neglected my 3DS.

P4G is probably the best RPG I have played on the Vita but then again what other RPGs are there?

Pokemon ?
It's pretty obvious ...

EDIT: Didn't realize you meant just for PSP Vita Pinching_eyes_2

Haha don't get me wrong, I would play Pokemon any day and X/Y has definitely caught my attention!
The Vita's sales would definitely be boosted though if they increased the amount of games or localized games such as Type-0 (lord this game will never come out)
Fire Emblem: Awakening has taken over my life.

10/10 would recommend, if you have a 3DS you should totally buy it! Definitely one of the, if not the best on the 3DS right now.
