Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is quickly jogging up to be my favourite Game on Wii

it's so genuinely unnerving and tense, it's what I really want out of a Survival Horror game.

The fact that there is no combat is a huge point, it brings a lot of tension and fear when enemies are truly lethal threats that you can't dispatch, you can only hope to escape.
I truly feel unnerved when walking around the desolate streets of Silent Hill, walking into a shop and hearing a small child crying, but nobody is near. The atmosphere is chilling (When walking through the high school, I actually shivered at a few points)
Using the Remote pointer to aim the flashlight is really nice, it gives a very 'real' feeling to the game. I also like the motion controls when you have to face the enemies.

Another huge point is the profiling system, When you start the game, you're given a psych test and those answers determine how the game plays out. After each "section", another test is given, which then will change even more parts of the game.
As you go through the game, it keeps track of how long you linger on certain images, how you approach puzzles, if you leave doors open/close them, etc. and changes the game based on that.
I've seen a couple videos online of the first hour or so of the game, and NONE of the videos showed the exact same events as I had played. They all showed very different outcomes.
There are multiple endings, each with very different storylines, and that gives me a great replay value.

I honestly didn't expect this game to be this great, I played Silent Hill 2 before, but that was my only time dabbling in the series. When I read all the good reviews for Shattered Memories, I had to see for myself how it was.
All I know is, it has given me some legitimate scares whilst playing.

in short, this game is amazingly atmospheric, with great replay value due to the fact that no two games will play the exact same. This is how I want Survival Horror games to be like.
End huge spiel about SHConfusedM.
I cant believe Modern Warfare 2 has made $1,000,000,000.00 already! Its completely ridiculous. I don't even like the game that much.

Thought you just didn't say your prestige. It's just most people (unlike me) have started to prestige. I think I'm level 18+

Benkei I'm agreeing with you there, though it's not the worst game and the special ops are quite fun Eee

but in all honesty it's success is only because of COD4.. and it seems like they're list of upgrades failed so hard. COD4 is soooo much better, but I guess you get as good as your given.
well i'm about to prestige now lol, just reached level 70

btw akimbo 1887's are carp UNBELIVEABLE, 300 kills and 45 headshots with it in just 2 days
Don't use them ugah.

I'm not a massive team player, as a general rule I prefer to go against other people, but there is an element of that even in cooperation.
That hideously mad dash for the weapons dropped by bosses, ammo from enemies, the race to see who will be driving, and who will be shooting on the terrible vehicle that will bounce you across the arid landscape.
It really is a brilliant game, seriously considering getting the Mad Moxxis Underdome expansion (even though the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned looks like a lot more fun).

And before you ask why I'd go for Moxxi over Zombie Island, if Zombie Island is more fun, I have two words for you.

Weapon storage.

My main, and most hideous gripe with this game, is the immensely limited space your character has for items.
An item and cash storage unit is something that should have came with the game, not something you should have to pay an extra $10 for (and is only available in the Mad Moxxi pack, not Dr Ned).

Yeah, the game could really use a place to store your stuff. I have a Lv 47 Hunter, currently on my 2nd playthrough (during the missions for Crazy Earl) and I've found a bunch of weapons I would've liked to have kept, even if they weren't great, but for being kinda unique (certain quest rewards/some legendaries). At least right now I have enough inventory slots that I can make most trips without having to leave stuff behind or continuously return to vending machines, only to have every enemy respawn once I come back... One of the things that really annoyed me was how quick most enemies spawned back, especially in indoor areas like the Lost Cave (carp was tough with all of the Alpha/Badass/BadMutha Skags in it.

The bank in Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot still only has up to 42 inventory slots, which is still limited unfortunately, but I guess it helps. I hear clearing all the challenges in the arenas takes forever, besides being really hard (also, you get no exp or weapon proficiency increase from all the killing).

Right now, my Sniper's at 30, Shotty's at 10 and everything else below. I still keep a bunch of other weapons with me, but I barely ever use them. With investment in the Hunter's Sniper skill tree + sniper class mods, they're pretty much the best weapon. Maxed Trespass is godly, Guardians just drop like flies.
I haven't messed around with the other classes extensively, other than to get the "kill x enemies with the Soldier/Siren/Berserker action skill" achievements. I hear the Siren is like the best class around, might try a playthrough with her sometime.

I've had a lot of fun with the game so far and I haven't even played it in co-op. I'll probably give it a rest for a while after I finish my 2nd playthrough, so I can go back to finishing Fallout Tactics and play Metroid Prime/MP2: Echoes (got the MP Trilogy for x-mas, besides Borderlands).

they've been patched on ps3 so they are not superoverpowered like they are on 360 (which is getting patched soon..i think). i was only using it to have some fun between level 67-70, i wasn't gonna camp out @ lvl 70 with it just so i could improve my k/d rating lol

started prestige now, lvl 12 (finally have the "my little pwny" callsign Cool
On MW2 I normally use P90 w/Silencer, Vector w/FMJ and Scar-H w/ACOG
and on COD4 P90 w/Silencer, AK-74u w/Red Dot and M60E4 w/ACOG

p.s I can't snipe lol.
My Assasins Creed 2 and Modern Warfare 2 hasn't arrived yet Pinching_eyes

I can only imagine how much coin New Super Mario Bros. Wii is making. It'll outsell MW2 if it hasn't already, it's a Nintendo game, so price drops/clearance/price collapses won't happen, and it has only a fraction of the development, and marketing costs of MW2.
doesn anyone know why old ps1 games like tombi, tombi 2,FF7 and klonoa sell for so much these days Confused?

Everything you listed except Final Fantasy VII were lower selling games that only got one, or didn't even get a reprint. The games you mentioned are like 10+ years old too, so they've been out of print for ages. VII has been reprinted various times, the most recent was when XII launched IIRC. VII really shouldn't be expensive. It's like $10 on the PlayStation Network if you want to play it on your PS3 or PSP (I don't know if you own either of them, but meh).

Just picked up Armored Core for Answer because I love the series. Really enjoying it right now. I also bought the Controller + Uncharted 1 combo pack, so I'm looking forward to playing that (and maybe later Uncharted 2).
The uncharted series is amazing, you'll enjoy those.
Bungie wants your help in helping Haiti:

Quote:PLAY HALO & WE'LL DONATE $77,000!
So, you want to help but don’t have a way to get one of our shirts or make a monetary donation? Not to worry, we’ve got you covered with the easiest possible way to be a hero – playing Halo!

We are rallying our fan community to show their support by playing Halo 3 or ODST online next Wednesday or Thursday while wearing a special emblem signifying your commitment to the cause. For every thousand heroes that participate, we will make a $100 donation on behalf of Bungie and our fan community to the Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts, up to a maximum of $77,000. All you have to do is don a special emblem and play a game online and know that you’ve done a small part to help those in need.

Please mark your calendars and help spread the word!

Here are the specifics:

1. Round up all of your friends and hop online with Halo 3 or ODST any time next from 00:01AM PST Wednesday, 1/20, through 23:59PM PST Thursday 1/21.

2. Edit your appearance settings so your character is wearing the RED HEART emblem.

a. Press START
b. Select “SETTINGS” / “APPEARANCE”
c. Select “EMBLEM”
d. Select “Hearts” ICON, “Circle” BACKGROUND
e. Back out to the APPEARANCES menu and select “COLORS”
f. Set “EMBLEM PRIMARY” to RED (or MAROON / BRICK / ROSE depending on which game you’re playing!)
g. Set “EMBLEM SECONDARY” to WHITE

3. Once your emblem is set, play! This can be a custom game or a matchmaking game, just make sure it’s played online, on Xbox LIVE, or we can’t track it.

If you keep playing more games through midnight on Thursday, KEEP THE HEART EMBLEM ENABLED or you may not get counted.

So, if you're outside the US and can't order some of their cool swag or you've already donated through some other way, get some friends together and play Halo 3/ODST online to further help the cause.
My connection has been dropping a lot lately, but I'll try to get on for some games this Wednesday/Thursday =)
Defenitely doing this.

you're both too young for mw2 SeriousSeriousSeriousSeriousSeriousSerious
Who said I was going to be playing them... + It's our parents decision wether we can play them or not.

I think they're only too young to buy it. If their parents buy it for them and give them consent, they can play it. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
lol. people these days don't care about ratings dude. I was a women queing with her son to get a copy. Her son looked around 8

EDIT: Well obviously it isn't illegal, unless they buy it. It should be illegal to use a mic unless your voice has broken tho xD

didn't you say "my"? lol.

anyway, I don't go to game or gamestation because I remember getting MW1 at game and the person was like "is that for your son" but my dad saved me and said it was his. That's why I don't go to the shop with my mum or dad when getting games above 12.
i was just kidding, my dad bought me GTA2 when I was 8 years old, lol

Damn Right, some of those kids make me want to Smithicide
I played Metal Gear games pretty young. They made no sense then, and they still don't make sense now.

That said, my parents were very much against buying horror games for me. I only played Resident Evil, and Silent Hill games by smuggling copies my friends lent me, lol. Even then I was like 13.
