i finished assasins creed 2 last night (got it for xmas)

it was really good, alot better than the first, but i was really wondering why sequence 12 and 13 were skipped over (game went straight from sequence 11 to 14). just found out that sequence 12 and 13 will be availible as dlc. lol how typical of ubisoft to milk people for their money (i'll still end up buying both sequences though lol)
They were cut because of deadlines. Game needed to come out for November.

What did you think of the ending?
i think that's just their excuse, if they were really cut because of the deadline they would be free and not cost money

i liked the desmond ending, it's what AC1's ending should've been. Ezio's ending i saw coming from a mile away so meh
**SPOILERS**

I felt kinda sad for Ezio in the end, I mean he did all that, then it turned out it was just to give Desmond the message

**End Spoilers**

Um, it still took time and manpower to finish them.

it was still supposed to be a part of the original game, each sequence will probably cost $10, so you're basically paying $20 extra for something that was supposed to be a part of the original $60 game to begin with..not the first time ubisoft has done this, they did it with prince of persia too lol
No, it only adds up to $10. It was stated by Patrice (lead dev) in some interview.
You never buy Ubisoft games at launch anyways. Their games are the definition of price collapse. Last year on boxing day, like a month after release, Prince Of Persia was going for $30, 50% of it's initial MSRP.

And then was canceled, and thus removed from the budget. If it was not DLC, you would not see it at all.

why didn't they just rename the last sequence to sequence 12 instead of skipping 12 and 13 and going straight to 14 then? it's not additional content to the story, it's a actual part of the story you didn't get to play, like a missing link
So I got a PS3 for Christmas (pretty much the reason for my dip in activity) and I've been playing Need for Speed: Shift online and it's funny to see people try to clip me to spin me out and fail and see them lose control of their car as I continue on laughing at their expense.

haha i used to do that on need for speed underground when it came out on pc its pretty good if you can do it right

Tested my connection, seems fine, tried connecting in game, says I can't connect without a valid network connection :s
No idea what's going on there.

Because they'd planned to release the DLC and it made sense to fit it in there.

Yeah, exactly the problem I'm getting.

do you know that for a fact or is that just a assumption? (spoiler warning); because the last sequence didn't make any sense at all. all of a sudden ezio had a piece of eden and knew how to use it, yet i don't remember a piece of eden being mentioned at all throughout the first 11 sequences.

to put this in perspective since you probably haven't played any of the ac games: it's like square enix releasing a new final fantasy game, and in order to beat the last boss, you need to obtain a special sword. all of a sudden, you randomly have the sword in your invetory without any explanation as to why you have it or how you got it. square enix says they will reveal how you got the sword in a double-series of dlc. that's pretty much what ubisoft did with ac2
I just started playing inFamous, and I must say I definitely enjoy it.
im mega excited im buying a ps3 tomorrow Grin

Um, did you pay attention to sequences 10 and 11? Borgia has the apple sent over from Cyprus, you kill the soldier and pick it up and deliver it, you get initiated and then it skips. Obviously Ezio takes the apple after that.
oh LOL, i saw remember he stole something, but i didn't really pay attention to what it was
Companies gearing towards "casual gaming" are really beginning to kill it for people like me that don't enjoy reaching the peak of a whole game within a day or two.

No amount of pointless achievements can simulate when the games took time. When I pay for a game I don't expect it to be over so soon. Unhappy

You're part of a very small minority these days.

The games industry in general, not just casual focused companies, has been shifting towards shorter game lengths for years now. Most triple-A blockbuster games usually only last anywhere from 5-10 hours.

For me personally, I think that's perfect. It's not too short (4 hours and under for a $60 game generally feels like a huge rip off to me), but it's also not obnoxiously long (read: every final fantasy game ever).

But it also depends on the platform. Anyone who buys a game for say, DS or PSP and expects it to last more than 10 hours is horribly deluded. They're portable games for a reason. Yes, there are exceptions (Pokemon), but generally the games were designed to be played in short sessions, so the overall game isn't very long -- but that's sort of the point. You aren't supposed to sit down and blaze through them in one or two days.
This gen of consoles has been the worst that I've been around to see. Things were supposed to be bigger, and brighter. Instead it seems impossible to live up to the gen's previously.
