Though it be cool for people to discuss and recount live acts, shows raves, partys etc. if you think its relevant, not just music. Sports, theater, comedy, dance.

Anyway my college put on a concert for $5. Was pretty dope, didn't have high expectations.
Headlined by rather big toronto hiphop artist K-Os. Except for being late, he really killed it, a plus for including new material. Hes more expiremental than I thought.
I would see again. Crowd sorta got into it.

Also the opener Lets Go to War was pretty sweet, kinda took a lot from RATM but had turntable and keyboard. Some riffs were SOO SIck. The lights went balistic too. High energy lol

then there was this guy Sebastien Granger from Death From Above 1979.
they were soso imo, not my kinda music, but they didn't really help the crowd.

IMO pretty great, really it was my first true concert AFAIR.
B)
I went to Edgefest during the summer. Edgefest is pretty much a full day of live music, 16 bands, 3 stages. It was amazing. Here's a recap of everything I saw (I was on the main stage the whole time):

1st Band: Miser
Well, it started out really slow...they were late by like 15 mins, and it was slightly raining; but as soon as they came on stage it pretty much stopped. They we're pretty good, being a new band and all. They really set the mood for the rest of the day, they we're really hyper and got us all pumped. They are from the Dallas area, so they really understood us.

2nd Band: Filter
What can I say? Godly! They sounded PERFECT, but Filter hasn't ever been the most performance oriented band. The setlist was really short actually, only like 3 songs. It was kinda odd.

3rd Band: Finger Eleven
I hate this band, so I went out of the pit to grab a snack.

4th Band: Chevelle
Jesus Christ were they good, they're songs all flowed so perfectly with each other. The vocalist was simply amazing. They are amazing performers Tongue_out_wink

5th Band: Puddle of Mudd
I was in the VERY front for them, and they we're fairly good. I mean, they're songs are all kinda overplayed on the radio, but they are good. A big surprise was their last song Shaun Morgan from Seether came out and they all did a cover of Breed by Nirvana together. That was great

6th Band: Seether
I wish I could say I saw them, but I only heard them. My carp of an ex girlfriend was with me, and she was bitching about her legs hurting so we couldn't watch them ;_;

7th Band: Blue October
After a LOOOOOONG intermission Blue October played for like 2 carp hours. I love this band, but by the end of it I was about ready to die Pinching_eyes

8th Band: My Chemical Romance
Finally, I had been waiting all day for this band. They had trumpets playing a high school football game style music playing, and the whole band came out in full football uniforms breaking through the back drop. They played Teenagers after that ^^ Gerard is very talkative lol My favorite was during "You Don't Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison" HAHAHAHAAHAHAH

9th Band: 3 Doors Down
I hate this band
^^ That's a pretty carp amazing line-up of carp bands.

only tolerable one is MCR
;( thats negative guys. at least substantiate. anyway comments like that undermine that he thought it was awsome..

Evan sounds pretty rad. I remember Puddle of mudd having one hit lol.
I digg Seether though. I especially like the colaboration "Broken" with Amy Lee, also on the Punisher sound track. still that is old now.

Surely other members of beywiki got events to recount?
Last concert I went to was Mindless Self Indulgence like two or so years ago.

It was pretty ballin'. The singer, Jimmy Urine, brought someone up on stage and shaved them bald. Then for one of their songs they invited this guy from the crowd to come up and sing with them for the song "Dicks Are For My Friends" and after it was over he asked the crowd to decide whether he should stay in the concert or be thrown out. Needless to say he got thrown out and what's funny is security really wouldn't let him back in. LOL

After that Jimmy pissed on the people in the front row.

Yeah. It was cool. I guess.
Been to warped tour for the past two years.
Bamboozle last year was amazing. Almost broke my leg durring paramores preformance when the crowd started falling around me. It was pretty intense. This warped that just passed i got a chance to make it in the tent for All Time Lows acoustic set which was pretty cool.
I feel lame. The only concert I've been to is the Trans Siberian Orchestra two years ago. It was carp amazing though.
the last show i went to was the thrash and burn tour. god i am never dancing again. some huge dude hit me on my right hip and i was like "chill im out of this pit"
Crazy up-beat/happy electronic music with a happy bouncey vibe:

It's probably waaaaay more intense than most of you kids would be interested in. Think: fangirls/boys jacked up on energy drinks listening to hyper chipmunk music for 8 hours.

Edit: with glowsticks and lazers.

I meant all of them, but nice attempt at defending your awful taste in radio rock.
carp you MCR isn't bad
Look earlier in the thread, we already said they were the best of the lot of them, which isn't saying much.

Its kind of like choosing between An Cafe and GLAY -- they both suck but you've got to pick the lesser of two evils.

Radio Rock? Please elaborate. Coldplay, Radiohead, Sublime, Nine Inch Nails, The Birthday Massacre, Coheed and Cambria, The Beatles, The Monkees, and Muse are some of my favorite bands. Please define "Radio Rock".

Also Brad and the rest of you who bash them, please give My Chem's first album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" a listen. I don't really care for any of "The Black Parade", save mama, or "Three Cheers" except for Hang 'Em High. You say they aren't a band because of the way they dress. Who gives a carp about what they look like.

Sorry, I read the "carp you MCR isn't a band" post hahaha

Well, personally I think Bullets is the best album lyrically.
Honest to god I love The Black Parade, its a great album despite the fact it is largely a product of studio magic rather than actual talent from the band members.

No need to, you just defined it by listing all of your favorite bands -- they're all radio-friendly, fairly mainstream rock acts that, with the exception of Muse, NIN and Radiohead, are pretty average, by the numbers rock acts.

I just don't understand how being on the radio makes a band suddenly awful...Who cares if people like them? The Beatles are the most popular band ever, and they are also some of the most skilled musicians ever.
Personal preference.

I don't like radio friendly rock. Its confined and constricted by the fact that it has to be able to be played on the radio. That doesn't necessarily make it bad, but it does limit the creativity of the artists and there are too many rock bands these days that exist simply to make money rather than to make fresh and interesting music.

I agree there, but I hate when people won't listen to something simply because it's on the radio. Good music is good music, no matter where you hear it.
