At least I hope so. I guess I have too much faith. I mean I would think that the bibles could have translation errors, or even maybe other things that dealt with the people that made them, but if portions were significantly altered...=/

I mean it wouldn't make sense why would they change it if there is still so much that doesn't make sense at this point.. ahhh my brain hurts.

I think you've just blown my mind I don't want to think about this anymore.

The 7th century? LMAO

The King James Bible was translated in the 17th century! Who's to say that wasn't drastically changed from the Septuagint (or carp, if the Septuagint didn't change the original Jewish transcripts to fit the culture of the Greeks? Hell, it's well established that the Gospel of Matthew was written especially for these said Greeks...)?!
NO no no your wrong get out of my head get out of my head ahhh get out of my headd T_T

they are translation errors. the church wouldn't lie!

(goes into corner rocking)
FFX could you please avoid making such absurdly moronic posts.

Why would the bible mention a later prophet when they think that Jesus is divine (debated but carp if i'm gonna get into the 50aueuwyr3owaryosue billion sects of Christianity right now) when Christianity and the Bible is about how to live under Jesus' teachings?

There is absolutely no reason for them to mention the Islamic prophet, nor do they believe in him. This is different for the Qu'ran, which says that Jesus is a prophet but Muhammad is his greatest prophet and there is no god but Allah.

Look, how can the bible even mention it when
A: It's not written during any time that Muhammad exists.
B: It's all about Jesus
C: The Qu'ran has not be updated since it was revealed to Muhammad by the (arch)angel Gabriel and has not included anything past what was told to Muhammad.

Of course if it makes you feel better Taḥrīf may have occured in the texts. So. Perhaps it was mentioned but they removed it for fear that it would undermine their religion. That's about all I can give you.
wow! am surprized u know that much about islam, but ur wrong brother.A:i know it wasnt, when jesus was living he said that a prophet will come after him and his name is ahmed.
B:i havent read it but am sure its not!
C:right!
we believe in jesus, and all oher prophets!but as prophets not as god,and all of them r in heaven.god sent more than one prophet cuz the time changes and people change, before mohammed came christian was the right religion, and before jesus came, jew was the right religion, and so on,and the last prophet sent by god was mohammed, and after him the right religion is islam.bible and quran and tawrah...are all from the same god.thats wut our prophet tought us!

first up, how about we use a little a logic? why would the christian holy book validate the islamic prophet? does that make any sense, at all? they would be discrediting everything christians believe as jesus as the son of god etc. etc.

you really need to learn how to look at the big picture and stop taking stuff personally. this is like the third time where you've done this dude
i said i was JJ!
and about logic, the christian book is from god,and islam and quran is also from god,god sent different prophets and they are all right, but each one in his own time, and the last one is mohammed and his time is from the time he came untill the last day cuz he is the last prophet.and jesus told that the prophet that is comming after him is called mohammed,so when he come the people that where in his religion go and be with him!
wut not logicalabout this?

Jesus never said that according to the Bible (read: the Christian faith). Ergo, they do not believe that. Why is it so hard for you to differentiate between your religion and others? :\ And neither Christianity nor Judaism was the "right" religion of the time. Have you even studied the history of any of these religions?

Anyway, be careful of juxtaposing your beliefs into what Jesus said according to Christians. In Islam, that very well be the belief but that does not mean it is right (and neither is the Christian one by that logic). Coming from an atheist, I don't care either way but still. Be careful assuming you're belief is the correct one; none of us truly know what happens and therefore it's one giant crapshoot.
i said that was islams believe and i believe its right, did i do anything wrong?sorry if anyone felt offended!

wut makes u think that?give me some of theyr history?

?. Could you point out where I was being stupid. I had enough faith in the church to believe that the monks who copied the bibles in the 8th century working in scriptorium could have had enough surviving copies to this day where we can see significant alterations that any future leader would have made, unless they were burned or totally destroyed, and even then, the church would have a tough time doing all of that.

Artie merely challenged my belief, I had a crisis in my faith, and now I'm good again. I panicked but I'm better now. Sorry if that post upset you, but it was just in sheer reaction to something that I had never thought off. I'll bring it up in class when I go back to college, and I need to further research the topic. Sorry if that was moronic.

I'm sorry I'm not too well versed in Islamic scripture but as far I can tell the bible does not mention that, but I assume the Qu'ran mentions that Jesus states that another prophet will come after him, which is where I got mixed up. Anyway the bible does not say that, because they focus more on the life of Jesus, and the early church, as I've stated before.

Wow I totally missed that JJ = Just Joking. I must be off today.

As for the "right" religion at the time that could be a bit iffy I mean the pagan religions were still around and such. But I feel like this whole thing has been a big misunderstanding.
No, what do you did was fine. It just wasn't clear that you were saying that was the Islamic view Smile

As for your question, no religion is ever the de facto or "right" religion. Secondly, both Judaism and Christianity (especially Christianity) were heavily influenced by other religions ...
FFX, just stop.

You are encouraged by your faith to seek the truth, but you are clearly uninformed about even the basics. All you are doing is making a mockery of yourself and what you claim to believe.

Can I ask you something then? What is my faith? What am I wrong about so far. What is it that I believe? I don't understand what I am doing wrong. =/
How should he know what you believe? You sound like a lost child. Uncertain
Well, that's exactly my point. He doesn't know what my faith is, nor does he know what I believe, nor does he know if I am making a mockery of myself nor have I made a public claim to have believed in a certain thing except:

So far the only thing that I have inferred to have believed in, and have faith in, is that the church has not altered texts drastically from what was originally written in the new testament, and that major problems come from translation inaccuracies and not some major changes that were made for malicious intent. There will and still is contentious debate about what is originally said in the scriptures, and perhaps they have been altered, perhaps they have been misconstrued over time. My only hope, hence faith, is that they have not been altered with intent of them entirely making up carp and rewriting things as they go along.
BAAAAHHHHH

Religion is a carp carp topic to get into, stop talking about it.
