So I'm making a half pipe looking stadium out of cardboard as a frame and i was wondering what to use as a finishing surface on top of the cardboard so that the blades move smoothly? This surface needs to be an everyday material that i can easily buy (budget is under 10 dollars). I was thinking maybe baking paper as it seems pretty smooth? Will that be a good idea? Post your suggestions here please.
i think this should go in the ask a question section
This does not belong here. I will move it to the Your Creations forum.
yup thats good too

Will the blades scratch the paint off? How much does it cost on average?

Oh OK sorry. I'm new here. Tongue_out_wink
Well, I made a stadium out of a sattelite, I spray painted it for it to look prrrty, but the paint would always chip off. I suggest go to Home Depot and buy some spray clear coat.
Plastic Wrap. If you stretch it right, it'll work great.

Yes i saw someone do that before on youtube. It was a great stadium. Was it you who did it? Beyblade homemade stadium(satelite dish) video I found on youtube

Haha I don't think my parents will let me rip the satelite dish off the roof of our house anyways Pinching_eyes

That sounds like a great idea. Any tips on how to fit it on?
No that wasn't me. That person didn't sand the hinges off. I did. I'll be glad to take a picture of it, if you want. However, 2 of the 4 walls fell off. Me and my dad welded them on. I would be happy to give you one, if you lived in Maryland. My dad has like 5 in his scrap bin at his work.

Oh. Yours must be much better then. I'm in New Zealand haha. Long way away where we get toy products about 10 months after theyre released T_T. But no matter.

P.S. I'm getting Rock Leone 145WB today(FINALLY OUT IN NEW ZEALAND). Is it a good choice? I heard it's a pretty good blade. I took a look yesterday at the toy store and these are the choices. Rock Leone, Storm Pegasus, Dark Gasher, Dark Wolf, Lightning El Drago, Evil Gemios (I think can't remember the first part but it's definitely Gemios), Storm Aquario, Storm Capricorn. Unfortunately Dark Bull isn't out yet; I really want it.
You have Gemios out!? We don't have that yet!
That is very off-topic. Furthermore, Evil Gemios is available in several locations already, it is nothing new.

U should get lightning L Drago its a top tier attack top and is one of the best beys that is affordable
Wow, this thread got REALLY derailed. Anyway, find a large strip of Saran Wrap, that will fit over the dish, and nail down the middle, so the wrap will stay smooth. (Use a flat nail for better results.)
I got Rock Leone, amazing blade.

Sorry about the off topicness Kai-V. My fault.

Will do Megablader9. Thanks for the tip.
Heh, I'm smart (I think) No problemo!
OK i have tried the plastic wrap thing, it's much smoother now. But there's a flaw in it. My stadium is made of cardboard and it's sloped around the edges to imitate the real stadiums. There are a few dents and bumps where the cardboard overlaps each other(This is thin cardboard the 1mm kind). Is there any way i can fix this? My stadium works great it's just that around 10 seconds or so into the game they get stuck in real tiny dents and won't move Pinching_eyes
You mean like a crease?
(Nov. 14, 2010  11:18 PM)earthleone234 Wrote: [ -> ]You mean like a crease?
Yes it's a real dilemma Pinching_eyes_2
Get another piece of cardboard and bend it, so it has a lot of stress but no crease, then make a holder( like a stadium stand that makes it stand up) Once you have the holder, the sides that you put the actual stadium in, cut 2 slits in each side, then do the same thing with the stadium. Then use the plastic wrap.
I am new on this forum so I do not know if creating your own stadium is something that most people like doing. It seems to me that if you had a budget of around 10$ couldn't you just get a stadium from the store for around 10$.

I do plan on building a stadium but it is because I believe the polycarbonate type material has a lifespan after being handled and abused as they are.

My plan is to get a snow saucer cut it to the right diameter and then lay carbon fiber with epoxy resin, sand it smooth, lay down some graphics, epoxy, sand and buff to a shine.

Yea thing is im in New Zealand so they barely have anything out there yet. Hell not even the launcher grips are out. The only stadiums are out however are...vortex stadium ($60) and the beyblade portable stadium ($50). As you can see i have not enough money to buy that kind of stuff.
well... the last post seems to be quite old, but I have a suggestion, you can use a material like something metallic... I think it shud work out with layers and layers of smoothly laid out foil wrap....
