My Beylauncher's two 'handle prongs' broke off, leaving a cracked mess in its place.... this doesn't mean you have to buy another one, though!
By using a metal file or sand paper, you can smooth out the jagged cylinder and turn it into a cylinder, as shown below

Just wrap some duct tape around for grip!
The exact same happened to me.
Stratus, I remember Brad posting a picture of a remodeled version with no recoil etc.
Unless there were EXACT specifications in making it, I still get bad recoil.
That's exactly what I did when my BeyLauncher got cracked in the middle,it seemed to have more power.
It doesn't, that will not affect the length of the string or strength you shoot it at.
