I know we've talked about putting individual Beyblades into tiers ... but that's more about purchasing whole Beyblades rather than rating the usefulness of parts ... so I was thinking, maybe we should do tiers for parts? Obviously this is a big project, but I think it may have some worth.
Sounds kool XD
Maybe its an idea to do this for the new MFB series and should they not be entirely outclassed by them, HMS but adding plastics to the index seems like an awful waste of time given their inviability in gameplay anymore.

However, I think that its (the conception of a parts tier list) an important step towards giving each part its own article which seems like a worthwhile, if laborious, expansion to the wiki.
Yeah, this is a really good idea, i think we need one.

Lots of players still play with plastics, and when writing for the wiki I don't compare plastics with HMS because it doesn't make much sense to do so.
Great idea.

Will we have it organized by both Tier AND Part Type? (BB, AR, etc etc etc)

Wolf Crusher - Tier 2
Bearing Core - Tier 1

or whatevs
If i can help with this in any way with this let me know please, thanks.
cool i cholud help i do have every blade almost anyway
Dang, sorting out the Plastics Tiers would be killer...

If I could, I'd help out, but I don't know anything about tiers. How exactly do you sort beyblades and parts into tiers? What qualities put a certain part into a certain tier?

Generally, the usefulness of the part.

Bearing Core, Samurai Upper, etc. would be Tier 1

wyborg's base would be whatever the lowest tier was
I think this is a rad idea. A lot of effort should be put into this.
This is a good idea. How many tiers should there be? Four like the other tier list, or even more?
Kei Wrote:This is a good idea. How many tiers should there be? Four like the other tier list, or even more?

Four would probably suffice, five maximum.

What do you guys think? I wasn't sure if I should include Circle Balance, Heavy, and Wide because, where do you really put them in?

I was also thinking maybe each part should have one sentence or something describing what it can be used for, or why it is not good/is outclassed. Though, I suppose getting full articles written for them is more important.
There are a lot of CWDs missing. Reverse Defenser, Eternal Survivor, Free Saucer ...
Kei, good start!

However I still think a Tier list for each part division (AR, WD, etc) is needed for easier searching. But, doing this will make the project much bigger, but I think it is worth it.

I didn't add anything to it, I just sorted Kei's list (as in, props go to Kei! :-3).
I think everything's sorted right...
I'd say CWD Defense Ring is definitely Tier 1. Not so sure about God Ring though it's really great.
I second the thought of CWD defense..it has to be tier 1. It's so essential.

Einstien could be bumped, it has potential as a replacement for MAMS if MAMS isn't possible........
Changed a few things:

Tier 1: ESSENTIAL
AR
Samurai Upper (Samurai Changer MS)
Circle Upper (Death Gargoyle MS)
Metal Ape (Magical Ape MS)
Advance Survivor (Advance Eterner) tier 2 maybe?
Jiraiya Blade (Jiraiya MS) ^ same

RC
Grip Flat Core (Dragoon MS)
Grip Flat Core Ultimate Mode (Dragoon MS UV)
Metal Change Core (Death Gargoyle MS)
Bearing Core (Wolborg MS)
Bearing Core 2 (Jiraiya MS)

WD
CWD Defense Ring with or w/o 17g metal part (Sea Dragon)

Tier 3: MODERATELY USEFUL
AR
Metal Upper (Driger MS)

Tornado Change Core (Dark Leopard MS)
Manual Change Core (Dranzer MS)
Free Shaft Core (Dranzer MF)

WD
CWD Devil Saucer (Bloody Devil MS)
CWD Free Crusher (Slash Riger MS) here because of the Battle Change Core combo, otherwise it'd be tier 4
CWD Eternal Survivor
CWD Free Saucer
CWD Free Defenser (?) (RBact 2)
CWD from Battle Change Core (SCMS) not sure; it's good on some BCC combos, but not much else. tier 3-4?

Tier 4: JUNK
AR
Metal Attacker (Dragoon MS)
Ultimate Attacker (Dragoon MS UV)
Spiral Upper (Dranzer MS)
Metal Saucer (Gaia Dragoon MS)

Smash Leopard (Dark Leopard MS)
Spark Dragon (Thunder Dragon)
Smash Phoenix (Dranzer MF)

RC
Flat Core (Gaia Dragoon MS)
Metal Weight Flat Core (Thunder Dragon) changed this to tier 4, not sure though, but there isn't a reason to use this with all the other good attack type cores we have. well, I guess you could say that about other parts, but there's no shortage of better attack type cores out there, unlike other types of parts
Sharp Core (Draciel MS)
Spring Core (Einstein MS)
Bunshin Core (Phantom Fox MS)
Free Wing Core (Slash Riger MS)
Aero Core (Aero Knight MS)
Shooter Change Core Gamma (Shining God MS)

I remember someone doing well in a tournament using a Bearing Core combo with Turtle Crusher as the AR, I think it was nice for beating uncustomized WBMS. Not sure if it should be on tier 2 though.

About Circle Wide, Balance and Heavy. They're all common, but I think everyone should own both Wide and Heavy, so those could go into tier 1 (in the very least Circle Wide should be there). Balance isn't very useful (tier 4 I think).
I don't see why Metal Ball Attacker is T2.
I agree with all the changes. Also, yeah, Metal Ball Attacker should be T3 at the highest and possibly T4.

Also, I don't think we should consider the CWD of Battle Change Core a separate part.
Is Wide and Heavy really T1 material? I would argue that both are T2 material at best, but I would love to hear arguments about Wide and Heavy being T1.

Agree with MBA moving down.

Is the ability to counter WBMS in TB alone enough to warrant RSMS to be bumped up to T1? I would argue yes, as it's basically a necessary component to be able to beat WBMS in TB as a competitive blader.
I'd say Wide and Heavy are definitely Tier 1.

As for what you said about Rubber Weight Core, I'd like to hear the argument that it's necessary to beat WBMS at TBTS (edit- TB! TB!). The fact that it only works in same spin direction is a pretty big disadvantage and there's plenty of other ways to beat it as well. I think Tier 2 is good for it.
