As hasbro beyblade x is getting more popular following recent releases and more coming soon there should be an increase in hasbro only tournaments. Would make it more fair to newer players
They really wouldn't make much of a difference. A lot of orgs are simply making X Hasbro only tournaments for the heck of it and not because it gets rid of any advantages that TT buyers would have. Or at least that's just me speaking for myself, since Hasbro's catching up to the TT releases pretty quickly.
It wouldn't make a difference game wise. BUT Hasbro only tournaments will encourage people to buy more of the Hasbro product and well if Hasbro see's a boost in popularity they might push it harder.
Ig I'm mainly thinking about the meta like wizard rod and Unite, etc. Also beys like Pheonix rudder, WR, Aero pegasus, the cobalts and more aren't available to get in the UK yet and might take a long long time. It just might level the playing field
We've kicked this idea around my group a bit. We do have a caveat, since the TT and Hasbro Beys have little to no differences we might allow only TT Beys but only if they have a Hasbro counterpart.

"Hasbro Only" X tournaments have their own metagame. These tournaments are being played, and the meta revolves mostly around PhoenixWing. "Hasbro Only" isn't something that needs to be 'normalised' because it's already being played, just not a lot. If people would rather import and play the Standard format meta instead of Hasbro Only format meta, that's their choice.

In other words, "Hasbro Only" doesn't need to be 'normalised', it has to actually be good and something people want to play, which is not the case for many people right now. An increase in "Hasbro Only" can only come from an increase in demand for the format, not because of some arbitrary view of fairness.

That's just a worse version of the existing "Hasbro Only" X format. You guys are missing out on the Hasbro exclusive releases.

Thats a great idea it would be refreshing to see new winning combos. Hopefully events like this can be scheduled

The winning combos wouldn't be too new unfortunately - the metagame is a reversion to the metagame of Standard in January/February, before UX dropped in March. Note the winning combos in this example match both the existing "Hasbro Only" format and Ginsu's idea.

If we factored in Hasbro exclusive Blades - Roar Tyranno would probably be the 'newest' addition.

Ig I am speaking for the UK as I haven't seen hasbro only yet.  maybe not normalise it entirely but defo be on the lookout for the demand and see the turnout if one is hosted. I'm sure they'll be higher demand as hasbro continues to release beys thus more people would want this type of format. Or it's just a fun switch up nothing wrong with it

The Standard meta tournaments in London are approaching close to a hundred players, so Hasbro will need to release something actually new and different to get people to play Hasbro Only format. As it is now, it seems people are perfectly fine playing Standard meta, and there's not much interest in playing the Jan/Feb 2024 Standard meta.

That does make sense but again it's still there as an option people will attend it because it's available. May not be much  demand for it but it if its hosted no doubt there will be many who'll go just because it's a tournament.

Yes that is true, Hasbro are terrible with all their product releases tbh, like if you were part of the Transformers community for the last 10 years you'd know, or MLP, or Power Rangers.... BUT if we had Hasbro only events it would incentives people to buy more Hasbro stuff from stores which would tell stores that they need to order more which should mean that Hasbro would wanna release their new stuff on time or quicker.

Question, When we say hasbro only and allow TT Beys that also have hasbro release how is that missing out on the Hasbro Exclusive Releases? If I'm rocking a Roar Tyranno for the Hasbro Only Tournament I'm still able to use it because it's a Hasbro Release even though it's a Hasbro Exclusive.
Does permitting these additional TT Beys diminish the significance of Hasbro exclusive releases and the unique qualities they bring to the tournament, or can it be argued that this inclusion actually enhances the diversity of competitive options available to participants?
