Hi, I have an idea for a basic program, and I wasn't sure where to post it.
At the risk of sounding extremely geeky or losery (I know that's not a word), I am asking anyone who knows a good deal of programming to help me create a program that would do a number of things:

1. Measure one's combo and store it according to its parts or whatever.
2. Compare said combo to another combo, either saved or theorized, in terms of Attack, Endurance, etc. and the difference between the two.
3. Keep track of combos saved and show some sort of progress when updated.

I have seen this on the show time and time again, and I can't help but wonder if it's possible to create. Again, I am well aware that this is obsessed to the worst extreme, and it very well may not be that detailed in reality (let alone possible). I was just throwing this out there for anyone that would like to discuss or suggest anything. I apologize in advance if there is a place to put something like this in the forums (is there?).
why dont you just use word?
It's more interesting to develop a program. Plus, I'm more interested in this sort of thing than plain old data.
You could just use a database programme like MS Access.
Because of Beyblade's situational nature whereby counters are used, it is impossible to "rate" Beyblades as such.
Sorry Cpt. Squirrel, but to me that's still data on a sheet, unless I could incorporate that into a sort of filing program.

And I do agree with you Heart (sorry I don't know how to make the symbol) about them being situational, but what about the system used in measuring their ability like using stars for the amount of Attack and so forth a combo has?

Do you have any idea how many combinations can be created ? Each is unique, and it would be insane to want to rate all of them. Just with five types of pieces for each part of a Metal Fight Beyblade, trying to make some sort of algorithm for them all is a lot of work. Too much work. And that is probably why Hasbro's Beyblade games are always showing unrealistic stats, besides the fact that they are most likely not bothered either too.

Just imagine RF : we all know it is basically the best Attack Bottom in the series currently, but how would a program necessarily figure out that Escolpio T125RS is bad for attack ?
The first two are not plausible since we don't have a means of assigning values to parts. If you are looking for a means to create a database and store your combos in there to keep track ie. store test results, filter parts based on type etc that can be done in excel.
Okay, i get it. It's extremely unrealistic to develop a program that could keep track of that sort of thing XD. I was just wondering if it was at all possible. Thanks for the input everyone Grin.
It would be possible to create a program to do this, although like everyone else has said it be a massive pain in the, well you know where.

So long as in order for a beyblade to be designated as a decent attack combination there has to be a threshold attack value that the total combination can attain, even if you have one part that is generally thought to be a top tier attack piece on a beyblade with other parts that arn't rated that highly for attack, like in your example, the program would be able to figure it out.

Actually a slightly more useful program would be one a WBO Official Database program that bladers can download and use to record their tests, and matches, so that in real time around the world we would be able to compare every combination without continuously resorting to using excel and the forum.

The worst recommendation, hah. Hasbro's stats, and even TAKARA-TOMY's, are not representative at all.

1. make some standard test combos these will be the combos that new blades will be tested against there can be one test combo for each type of blade
2. make a new part of beywiki where people can post the combo they made and results they got against the test blades if someone else already posted that combo and its result your results will just be averaged with it
3. make it to where you could search for a combo in the new part of beywiki to see if that combo had been tested and if it had the average results of it tests

1. We already have those. Those are the Competitive Metal Fight Beyblade Combos.

Okay I've created a Spreadsheet to record all of the Bey parts and their values according to the system used by TT (i.e. Performance Tip Q has 6 stars in the Attack column, as well as Storm having 4 stars).
Spartan97 I like the idea of using that program. Could you tell me the link to download it?
Kai-V I understand the measure of difficulty this would present, but I do believe if one compares the weight of certain parts to their tendency (like how the Storm fusion wheel weighs 30.4 grams and is considered a top tier attack part) then it could be possible to keep track of a combo's attack defense and stamina values, among other things.
I also like Mikado's idea of using a search function to find combos and their win records. I searched for Flame Leone C145WB, and nothing came up. This theoretical program could create hypothetical stats based on what was searched (i.e. the above search would locate that it weighs 39.4 Grams and whatever tendency it has).
Of course, I could just be talking out of my butt XD

Because you can't rate parts, they only work certain ways with certain parts. You really could only index them by part type, the release date/alphabetically, or by height then alphabetically for gimmicks for tracks, with each section containing a picture of said part and a description of its uses, which is basically just a Beywiki application.
It would be great.
But it would be a lot of work.
You would have to know all weights of all parts.
And such... D:
Plus Hasbro Takara and SonoKong parts all weigh different amounts.

Yeah with the molds variations and everything.
And including the MF's and the Remodelling MF's.
For example Takara's Cancer apparently weighs 3.0 grams, where as Hasbro's weighs a whopping 3.55 grams, 2.5 more than TT's Bull.
