Xcalibur (エクスカリバー, Ekusukaribā) is a DB Core released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-200 Starter, Xiphoid Xcalibur Xanthus Sword'-1, on July 16th, 2022.
==Description==
Takara Tomy's Xcalibur is a right-spin DB Core that features large sword, representing the DB Core's namesake; Excalibur, the legendary sword of King Arthur. The design is reminiscent of its predecessor, the Xeno Xcalibur Layer. Xcalibur features a gimmick: after the first click, a built-in metal sword extends outwards, shifting the Beyblade's center of gravity and theoretically increasing Attack Potential. In this activated, imbalanced state, it is known as the "One Hit Mode (一撃モード, Ichigeki Mōdo)". Xcalibur's gimmick and imbalanced weight distribution is intended to work in tandem with the Xiphoid BU Blade, lining up with the sword-tip like protrusion of Xiphoid. While its heavy weight and strong teeth somewhat make it suitable for use on Ultimate, it is preferred to solely pair Xcalibur with Xiphoid.

To enable its gimmick, Xcalibur starts with 2 shorter locks and 2 hard locks after its sword. While tighter than Perseus, a Core it has a similar weight to, due to its stamina draining gimmick, Perseus, Belial 2 and Kerbeus are better options with similar or better Burst Resistance for most situations.

Xcalibur is compatible with the "BU Lock" gimmick. When paired with BU Lock compatible DB Discs such as Xanthus, raised protrusions on the Disc tabs lock into two grooves on Xcalibur. This results in increased Burst Resistance and a sturdy Combination, preventing the Disc from shaking during battle.
==Use in Attack Combinations==
Xcalibur can be used in the Attack Combination Xiphoid Xcalibur Giga/Over/Fortress/Illegal Xtreme'-1. The alignment of the Xcalibur Core's sword and the 1 armor helps focus weight on Xiphoid's sword, which combined with heavy weight of the discs and the Core's built-in sword to to deliver maximum damage,further complemented by Xtreme' 's high speed while its high grip reduces banking pattern loss due to its unbalanced design. Xanthus is another option for those for favor Burst Resistance via the BU Lock system, but its high scrape risk would mandate using a much taller attack tip. (Note:Written before Moon release, Moon likely better).

==Overall==
While Xcalibur's heavy weight and strong teeth makes it good for attack combinations, its gimmick means it is confined to Xiphoid, making it somewhat outclassed by the more versatile Kerbeus and Belial 2. That said, this synergy makes it one of the best Attack Layers to use, and can be used to free up better Cores like the aforementioned Belial 2 and Kerbeus for other uses in a Deck Format outside of on Xiphoid.

As such, Xcalibur is not a must-have, but is a welcome addition to any collection.

Xcalibur not a must have to use on Xiphoid. You can use other stuff like Belial2, Perseus, or Valkyrie2.

Ok noted. I was referring to Kei's article, and he only paired it with Xcalibur.
